Chapter 44 - Embrace Embrace

Elizabeth has been looking out through the window since the time they got into the car. Aaron, on the other side, drove silently. After listening to what Aaron has said to her, Elizabeth couldn't help herself from bringing him in her arms. She stood up leaving her chair empty and threw herself onto him. "Ohh Aaron!!" she exclaimed when she made his head to rest on her chest. A few moments later, she heard Aaron say, "We have to leave, Lizzy." Elizabeth stepped back instantly and wiped her tears before she followed him. She knew that the man she loves was in no state to talk to her about anything. She understood how hard it must be for him to be away from his mother for years. Elizabeth, who sat in the passenger's seat widened her eyes when her eyes caught something a little away from their house.

"Stop the car!!" she let a cry. Aaron immediately stopped his car without a second thought. "What happened?" he asked her in worry as he thought something happened to her.

"Follow me," she said and the next moment she was on the empty road. "where do you think you are going?" he asked her after getting down his car, to follow her.

"Since the time I came to your house, I always wanted to go the near lake, I see it every morning but I never came to have closer look," she said.

Aaron sighed heavily after what she has told him. He saw her running towards the lake where he was left with no other option but to follow her.

"Aaron, come quickly," she turned back and said to him while she ran on her bare foot to the lake like a kid. "What are you going to do here at this hour?" he yelled out, so that his voice could reach her.

"Admire the nature," she whispered and giggled.

Aaron smiled internally to see. This was how she used to be when they were in school. She always had a bright smile on her face, she always made him do something he never thought he'd do for someone. He was behind her; a little away from where she stood. She looked back to see her husband stare at her as if he was lost in her thoughts, she walked to him and planted a quick kiss upon his lips and said, "I'm glad that you told me everything."

"I'm sorry," he apologised. "I never wanted to hide it from you..."

"I am not mad at you for hiding about your mother from me. I only wish that it would've been good if nothing bad happened like that in our lives," she cut down his words to explain her thoughts.

"I wish the same but we cannot keep blaming ourselves for the things we did unknowingly. I'm sure your mother doesn't want you to blame yourself," he said to her, resting his hand on her cheek and gently rubbed with his thumb.

"I can't help my self from thinking about that particular incident. I should've given a thought before blurting out. That day, I saw your mother on the bed and the... the gun in my mother's hand. It was horrifying to witness such thing. I immediately ran out of the house. I was choking and crying, I ran as far as I could. I was found by a police man, he questioned me and I said him everything that I saw. Within few minutes the police entered the house along with me, where my mother sat near the bed motionless, I cannot forget the expression on her face. She must've been hurt that her own daughter looked at her with disgust..."

Aaron pulled Elizabeth into his arms when she broke out in tears. "I know how you must've felt but you cannot blame yourself." Aaron patted her back.

When the incident took place, Elizabeth didn't come to the school for more than a three which made him worry. It was then the news was passed that, one of the known business man, William Carter's wife, Hailey Carter killed a woman. Aaron was schoked to see the news. He tried to call her but there was no response. He went to her home there were police in her house who were questioning Elizabeth's father. He went to her room after he was given permission by her father. Elizabeth who saw Aaron, got down from her bed to hug. "I hate my mother," she cried.

"Calm down, Lizzy," he said but the girl kept crying. After she was calmed down, he made her to have her food and she agreed after requesting her to eat more than ten times. Months passed but Margaret's details were kept hidden from everyone. Aaron never took the topic about Elizabeth's mother and tried his best to make her smile when he was around her. One day, he gave her a present. It was a diamond pendant. Looking at the girl smiling bright, his heart found solace. He was happy to see her smile after many days. But their happiness didn't last long when he came to know that Elizabeth's mother who killed a woman was none other than his mother, whom he thought to be dead, made him broken into pieces and after whatever his uncle told him. He couldn't help himself but hate everyone. He almost punched his father when his father came home but he was stopped by the workers. After witnessing everything that happened between the father and the son, Micheal Winchester, Aaron's grandfather, sent him to states so that Aaron could be at peace. Not even once did he come back to his home until he was made president of the Winchester's empire. He never wanted to meet Elizabeth but he was often given updates about her from his assistant and that was how he came to know about Steve's plan to tie up his son with Elizabeth. At first, Aaron tried to ignore but he couldn't and ended up marrying her and instead of hating her, he fell for her again realising that he cannot hate her or hide his feelings he has for her.

"Its dark we need to go back home," he whispered and she nodded in his embrace.

After going back to the room and taking a quick shower, Elizabeth slid under the cover and went to sleep before Aaron came out of his shower. "Good night," he planting a kiss on her forehead and turned off the lamp before making her hand wrap around him to sleep.

In the morning, Elizabeth woke up feeling his hand around her which made her smile before she could admire him, the phone which was ringing made her get down from the bed. She noticed that it was from her mother-in-law. She wondered what made her call early in the morning.

"Liam regained his consciousness," were the words Elizabeth heard from the other side of the phone as soon as she attended it. Elizabeth felt relief and ended the call saying that she would immediately reach the house.

"What happened?" Aaron asked her while he still laid on the bed.

"We need to go to your grandpa's house immediately," she said
