As the web snapped in the location near Ashley, she began to fall from the grasp of the webs. This caused a chain reaction of falling, as the four party members were bound to stay within 3 meters of each other, and the force of them falling down was even greater than the adhesive keeping them stuck to the web.
A ripping sound of skin was heard as they fell from the web, and their skin was torn from the sticky parts. Oddly enough, the silky material they were wearing did not stick very much to the web- likely because of the similar makeup- however each of the party members had the skin on their wrists and ankles flayed off as if an extremely sticky band aid was ripped off at once.
"Agh!"
"Ouch"
"Urg!"
"Eek!"
While they were in midair, Samantha reacted to these injuries, and before the damage messages could even pop up, she felt instinctively like she needed to heal everyone.
[Heal] [Heal] [Heal] [Heal].
[Player Samantha: MP: 15/50]
[Player Ashley: HP: 30/30]
[Player Samantha: HP: 30/30]
[Player Trevor: HP: 35/35]
[Player Garett: HP: 45/45]
They all seemed to be getting somewhat used to pain. Whether that was a good thing or not was hard to say, however it certainly helped.
And once more, they were falling.
[Luck roll: 1-10: Roll: 3]
"Ah shit...", Garett stated, while looking extremely excited to see what would happen.
"Looks like we got a bad roll this time... prepare yourselves, everyone!"
----
"Shit! Shit! Shit!"
"I knew this would happen! Are we gonna land on hard concrete!? Are we all going to splatter and die?!"
Samantha was listing off the worst case scenarios as they fell.
"Seems like you've finally learned something! This is exactly what I was talking about! Pessimism! You have to expect the worst case scenario so that you can plan for it!"
With this, Trevor Grabbed onto Samantha's hand midair.
"Wha- what are you doing!?"
He then grabbed onto Garett's hand, who in turn grabbed Ashley's hand.
Ashley followed their lead and grabbed Samantha's other hand so that they formed a circle like skydivers.
And Ashley, being a spirit, began to pull up with all her might.
She managed to slow down the descent of the four, to the point where they were no longer accelerating, but she was not strong enough to completely stop all four people from falling so quickly.
This was when something weird happened.
"I'm about to try something new... brace yourselves!"
[Player Ashley has recognized a new way to use spell: Fireball]
As they were falling, Ashley took her foot, which was part of her semi-spiritual and semi-physical body, and faced it downward.
[Player Ashley: Intelligence roll: 33]
All of a sudden, a giant fireball erupted from her feet.
The momentum of the fireball shooting downwards propelled the four who were interlocked upwards, and completely slowed their descent to reasonable levels.
As this happened, the fireball flew down the abyss, eventually making an exploding noise which was coupled with a few high pitch screams.
"Whoops... looks like someone or something was down there. Teehee!", Ashley stated, not looking remorseful at all.
She was doing this to save her own and her comrades lives. She had no room to feel bad about harming anyone or anything who got in her way.
"It seems like we have just now overcome bad luck with strategy... once more this world continues to be intriguing...", Garett said with an excited look on his face.
And so, the four slowly floated down until they began to see a rock floor that had a large crater in it from the fireball.
The crater was enormous. It was around 30 meters in diameter, and it was much larger than what Garett had expected from one of Ashley's fireballs.
Slowly but surely, the four landed inside the crater.
However, while the inside of the crater was hot to the touch, and everything that was in the area must have been burned away, the area surrounding the crater suggested that there were indeed creatures living in this abyss.
More particularly, there were eggs.
Hundreds of eggs.
Perhaps even thousands.
They were all about the size of a backpack, however some were bigger and some were smaller than others. They were yellowish and semitransparent, and one could see hatchling spiders floating inside the fluids of the eggs.
While Ashley's fireball might have destroyed over a hundred of them, there were eggs surrounding the landscape above the crater as far as the eye could see.
"Nasty... we should get out of here while we still can...", Ashley stated as the group landed in the crater.
Enough time had passed during their descent for the ground to lose heat, however it was still warm to the touch once they landed.
It was like how sand would feel at the beach when one took off their sandals and walked over to the water.
"Yes, I agree. If we stick around too long those things might hatch.", Trevor commented.
"Eek! Lets get the hell out of here!", Samantha shrieked, and the four then all headed for the sides of the crater in order to search for an exit.
However, before they reached the side of the crater, they all heard a single noise from above.
Crack!
Crack! Crack! Crack!
