Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: Change of interest

James woke up, once again in the same room. Mia was still asleep though. James got up and stared at her for a moment before exiting the room. Then proceeding to go outside, and walk to the edge of town. The sun was still just coming up, it was [6:40 am] according to his clock. James once again used [Telepathy] to talk to one of the maids at the mansion. A few moments later the same person from last time appeared and took him through the portal. Once again he was back in Hell. But this time he was much more power full then the last time. Although in comparison to a lot of demons who lived here, he was still weak. But for a seventeen year old existence, he was decent. After all, Demons, like fallen angels did not age after a certain point. So you could imagine how strong someone whose been alive for a few hundred or even thousands of years would be. Never mind a being like his father, whose been alive for so long, could be.

James walked around the mansion, but couldn't find his parents. After awhile he saw his mother was in the dinning hall with some other woman talking. He decided not to bother them and walk around some more. Eventually he went to the where his fathers business meetings were held. It had a long hall that led to it. There were a few rooms along the hall. But at the end was the one where the meeting room was. It had a large double door, and just like the rest of the place, looked very very expensive. Then again, the mansion was practically the size of a castle. So maybe expensive is an understatement. Sitting on the floor by the door was a girl. It took a moment before James realized who exactly it was. It was the same red skinned girl from back then. She was a lot taller now, and her hair was long. A bit longer then Jess's hair. And of course, he recognized she had become... as James would say, 'Thicc.' She was waring blue jean shorts, and a dark red hoodie. Her horns were also longer, and more defined then before hand. He walked over to her as she was also by the door he was going to anyways. "Do you remember me?" She looked up at him for a moment, and her amber golden eyes stared at him for a moment before a slight blush showed on her face. "Y-yes I do." her voice was soft, and light. James sat down next to her, "So what are you doing here?"

"My father came to talk and had me come along as well."

"So I'm guessing they are in there then?" She nodded in response. "Who is your father exactly?"

She giggled, "you're joking right?"

"uh... no? not really,"

"For the son of one of the Princes you really don't know much huh? Next you're going to say you don't know you have a sibling," she giggled as she spoke teasingly.

"What? I do?" James stared at her confused.

The girl stared at him before laughing. "You're funny, you know that? O right. I uh, forgot to tell you my name back then huh.."

"uh.. right, yea never did get your name."

"Mare Contra, Daughter of The Prince of Wrath" She said proudly, different from her demeanor before hand when he first walked up to her. Although the last part didn't slip past James's ears either. If anything it caught his attention. However, it would explain why her father seamed to talk to his often. Or at least in his perspective. James turned and looked at her, "So that would make your father what?"

"Satan Contra is my father if that's what you are trying to ask me." James nodded, understanding what she said. He wasn't fully sure what list of Princes were in use, but now he knows at least two of the seven. As this happened the the big doors next to the two, opened with a loud sound quickly grabbing their attention. James looked over to see Mare's father standing there looking at the two of them. James made eye contact for a moment with him. Normally he would be scared of this individual, but knowing his own position, he knew his father wouldn't let anything happen. Also, after a moment, for a brief second, James thought the man smiled. He turned to the hallway, and a deep, and rough voice spoke clearly. "Mare, come. It's time to go home now."

As soon as she heard this she got up, and walked over to her father. She turned and waved at James before leaving with her father. As James stared at her while she left, his father came out the door and glanced at him. "O, welcome back home James, nice to see you again. It's been a bit sense you last were here." A few moments past before James looked up at his dad. "Hey, who are they exactly?" Lucifer opened the door some, "You never really showed interest in people or anything with the Circles. Well, come in, we can talk about it better." James got up and walked into the large room. Their was a lot of things in the room, and it was equally large, and long. Most notably there were a lot of book shelfs, and a fire place in the room, as well as some chairs by it. There was also a large desk with a few chairs. Across the room on the other side, was a large black wooden table, and many seats. James sat down at the desk in one of the seats in front of it, while his father sat back down in his seat.

"Well, where to begin. For starters, There are seven "Circles" in Hell. Although they are called this, they are not actually circles, its just a way of referring to them. In the mortal realm, they have...countries and kingdoms yes? It's like that." James nodded and then he continued, "Each of the Circles have their own Prince, who leads them. Something else to add, is that, each Circle, is not the only thing that exists. There is also plenty of land outside of them, that can vary in ways they look. Much like how on Earth, there are desserts, snowy wastelands, forests, etc. Although the Circles vary in size, and are all constantly growing in different directions. The Hell realm itself, much like the realm of Heaven, or even the Mortal Realm, it is infinite. However the way this looks is different in each. Hell, simply is an infinitely growing land. Imagine if earth was half a sphere. And every direction, is growing, except upwards of the flat side." He stopped for a moment allowing James to process the information.

"In the Mortal Realm, their is Space. And in Heaven their is the mist, which you can think of as an infinite sky, or fog along the ground. Also there exists massive floating lands that go higher and higher into the sky, varying in size. There's more information, but that's all you'll need to know for now about that. Back onto our realm. Not all of the princes get along either. sometimes there are even small battles or wars between them. Which is something that is relevant to our current situation as well. To add to this, all of the Princes have had spawns through out the past. But most of them have died now. You are currently apart of the newest generation of the children. Often the children will usually get along. But due to the circumstances, their have been many cases were they didn't or they have killed one another in wars, or smaller conflicts. Albeit personal, or more for the Circles. Actually, The garden in the back was started by one of my children. She was very kind, and peaceful. She always was fascinated by plant life, and eventually asked if she could start a small garden in our yard..." He paused here, thinking about his children. "..Me and Lilith adored her, and we of course allowed it. She eventually made quite the sizable garden on her own. It was an amazing sight. Although to go see it now, you would have to walk for a while in the back yard. As we have many trees, and a large amount of land.

One day, while she was out with friends of hers, in a city, one of the other Spawns had crossed paths with her. They had gotten into an argument of some kind. From what I heard the man was drinking as well. Eventually the Spawn attacked her. Although her friends did try to protect her during the clash. But in the end, they barley got away from the fight. Before they could get her to someone to heal her.....she had died of her injuries...." James noticed his father seamed to be angered and saddened as he said those words. He grit his teeth, and their were signs of tears in his eyes. But not too long after he had calmed down to a peaceful state again. James wanted to say something but he didn't have any words that would help with the situation, nor make the death go away. After all, how could he.

"After we found out what had occurred, Lilith and I were devastated. Vesta, our daughter was dead. We buried her in her garden. And put a statue there for her. Sense then we have had made the garden and lush woods you see know around the house. This is one example of many children who have lost they're lives. Well, I say children, but to people in the mortal realm, most of them lived much longer then any mortals have. But to Immortals, like us, Children, Adults, etc. It's not much of a concept. However, compared to how long I've been alive, or any of the Princes. They might as well be children. Although I say this, I always have treated all of my Spawn fairly, and with respect. After the funeral, the Spawn who killed her, was eventually killed. He met one of Vesta's siblings out in the neutral lands, and was killed. We call them the neutral lands, as a simple way of saying anything out side of the Circles." James looked at his father with empathy. He has seen many of his own children die countless times. He can't imagine the amount of pain that must be consuming him. "Are... any of my siblings still alive dad?" After what Mare said he was curious. His father stared at him for a moment thinking. "Other then you, I have three Spawn right now. An eldest son, an eldest Daughter, and the youngest of the four, who is also a daughter. She was born around two years after you left for the first time to the Mortal Realm." James felt sad about this. He never met any of his now blood siblings, and he didn't even see the birth of his little sister. James wondered if his dad remembered all of his children, sense the beginning. But he didn't ask that, as the thought bringing it up might be rude.

His father continued, "Other then the three realms, there is the fourth and final realm. The void. It is a visually similar to the Heavenly Realm. However, Travel there is not possible anymore except by a select few entities. This is where the being by the name of Phobus lays sealed. He and Yesh were brothers. They were the start of things. While God created the Heavenly Realm, Phobus created the Void-Realm. Yesh created the Archangels, Seraphim, and the Angels as well as some others. Phobus created sentinels, and other entities. Over time the two brothers clashed with their ideals, and eventually lead to the first ever celestial war. This is the war between the Heavenly Realm, and the Void. Many died on both sides. But eventually after a long time, we won that war. Yesh sealed Phobus in a orb like space in the Void Realm. Shortly after Yesh prevented entry of most things to the Void. From here Yesh created the Mortal Realm, and the Hell Realm. From there Demons, and mortal races were created, and placed in their spots respectively. There was a lot of work being done at the time and we all tried to help with what we could. The Archangels who were the children of Yesh, and the seraphim were able to think for themselves. As well as a few exceptions most common angels did not posses this capability. However, all the beings from the other two realms had this ability as well. I saw this was unfair. I argued with my brothers and sisters at first about this. Some agreed others didn't. Eventually I brought this up to Yesh himself. Eventually our argument turned into a fight. The angels began to fight among themselves. By the end of it, I had convinced Yesh, but the damage around the Heavenly realm was already done. And some Angels had died in that battle. That battle can be referred to as the second Celestial War. Although I make it sound short, it was still around a hundred years of fighting before Yesh finally gave in slightly to his Spawns words. However, like I said, damage had been done, and someone needed to be punished for it. So I offered up myself for the punishment. At the time Yesh, was the only person who ranked above me, and one of few entities who I could not just fight so casually. Then and now, he is still stronger then I am. I have closed the gap between us somewhat. But it still exists. My brother Michael had also fought me in that war. My brother and I were equal for the most part, we both had our own special weapons as well. Before the second war, he used a flaming sword, or a lance. But during the war, a lot of angels of different ranking had perished. So, Michael had created Merkabah out of them. A set of two heavenly silver blades. He used them to fight me and my Divine blade, Tenebris. I ended up losing my fight against him that day. But only barley."

James sat there trying to process what the fuck his father was saying. As it was a ton of information. And he didn't slow down at all to stop. Seemingly very into the story he was telling. "Well, anyways, after the war, I came here and became the Prince of Pride. And created the first Circle. Eventually I met Lilith, your mother, and one thing led to another. Well, that's the short version of the story at least." He said that and chuckled. James stared at his father, "That's short?"

"Well, yea, If I wanted to tell the whole story, it would take years to tell haha, for example to tell you about the lesser celestials that Yesh created, and went to the Mortal Realm to help keep things in control haha"

James was worried by this, but it made sense how long such tales would be considering how old the beings in mention are. "You mean, the gods that humanity worshiped for a time?"

"ah, well to be more specific the ones the Greeks prayed to. The other older ones, were different angelic beings intervening or Yesh himself. However eventually Yesh got tired dealing with the issue, and created more celestials. After all, the man needed time to spend with his wife Asherah, and time to relax for once. After all the wars, creating things, and managing things, he earned some relaxing I think haha."

"Yesh has a wife?"

"Hm? ah yes, the problem in the mortal realm is that, most of the tales, and stories were all done by talking for a long time. So most of the stories were either altered or had forgotten parts. It wasn't until much later did things get written, and even then some people altered those. So a lot of people interpreted the stories in different ways, or heard them differently. Leading to what ended up happening." Hearing this James felt bad about all the things that have happened just cuz of dumb reasons. Like people changing stories, or just people forgetting. In a twisted way he thought it was kind of funny though. "By the way where's my youngest sister now?"

"Hm...? Ah right, Lilin is probably in town right now with her friends."

James got up and turned to the door. "Alright, Thanks dad! I'm ganna go see her, and check a few other things out!" James ran out the door and out the mansion. he already missed most of his sisters life. He's got to at least see her now right? James took off to the town near by. Where he used to always go when he was growing up. As he ran down the front yard and the path he waved at the workers tending to the garden. The plants in the yard had a new meaning to him after learning about Vesta, and the past.
