James peered up at the ceiling from his bed. A constant beeping in the back. Groaning he pulled himself over to his side and slapped the top of the alarm stopping it. Sitting up slowly he looked around his room. He stared at his computer across his room on his desk. New and clean, unlike most of his room. He stared around his room seeing the clothes all over. 'I'll clean this later.' A few seconds passed before he realized he was almost late for school.
"O shit!"
He leaped out his bed and quickly grabbed a black t-shirt and some jeans throwing them on and putting the new shoes he had bought on. Quickly picking up his gray backpack and running out his room appeared around looking at the kitchen he paused for a moment before continuing to run outside. 'I don't have time to eat... I'll buy something later I guess'. James sighed at this thought. He covered his face for a moment, as he stared out at the street blinded by the sunlight in his face. His school year was almost over, he was in his senior year of high school now as well.
He started running down the street to get to his school. Lucky for him he lived a few minutes away so he could make it if he ran. As he was running, he passed by many houses and waved to the few people who were outside at the moment. Considering it was only 6 am, not many people were awake yet. He came across an intersection and looked around, he didn't see anyone, or cars so he crossed the road quickly as the school was now around the corner.
As he got across and ran up to the school, he stared at the building, letting out a sigh of relief. He ran inside shortly after without much thought and sat down once he managed to get to class. He sat there at his desk and put his bag down as the bell went off signaling the start of his class. 'Just in time...'
The day passed slowly for James as he could only wait until summer and he'd be free finally from school. After classes he went to football practice. He didn't really enjoy playing it that much but he was good at it. But his friends also made him start playing in their freshmen year. He grew to enjoy it more but he'd much rather relax at home, play games, or maybe read something.
By the time practice was over he was exhausted and it was dark out, stars littered the night sky. He put his stuff together and said bye to his team before he left the large locker room and started walking home. He stared up at the clear night sky filled with stars and a bright full moon. 'It's so cool, too bad there's no hill to sit on around here and watch it for awhile.' He walked down the streets, taking turn after turn. Eventually he stopped on the side walk. He was next to a house he had seen before. it was a boy he grew up knowing. They didn't really talk much anymore though. James turned and started down the road again, however, before he could walk very far, a sharp pain twisted in his back.
A burning pain overflowed from a small point in the middle of his back, right by where his spin was. Everything started to blur. His hands, and feet went cold. Before he could turn fully to see what had happened his legs gave out causing him to fall to the ground. He couldn't move his body much at all. Inch by Inch he felt his body grow colder and colder. On top of this his backpack was still on him, causing him to feel as if he was being stood on after the pain had grew to this point. He heard some person's voice though by now his hearing had started to go. The sound was muffled, and distorted. thus he wasn't able to make out what was said. He tried to grab his phone but by then it was to late. Everything went black. James felt nothing anymore, he just felt as if he was floating. He still felt cold, but it was a different kind of cold. He couldn't find the right way to describe it, but he assumed that it was something like his soul itself was cold. He stayed like this for awhile. It was almost pain full. Then a bright light flashed in front of him.
Almost the instant he saw the light, he felt himself nodding away….
He opened his eyes and saw what looked like a white space filled with fog. He looked around but he couldn't see anything at first, he turned around and he saw a small house. '....did I…never mind, I'll find out in a moment I guess..'
He stood up and his legs felt like they could cave in at first but shortly after he regained his strength. James looked a bit more at the house and the area around it. He could see a stone path in front of him leading up to the wooden house, surrounding it were two ponds next to the stone path like a Japanese style garden with fish in them. In the ponds there were also some grey rocks you could step on to walk around in it.
Slowly he walked up the stone path to the house. As he got closer he spotted a small bird that was sitting in the grass chirping. A cold breeze passed from the foggy white void for a moment. 'It's...peaceful.' He walked up to the door and opened it. Inside was a old man sitting next to a wooden coffee table low to the ground in a semi-Japanese style. I stared at him for a moment then looking around seeing a wide room with a tan color painting the walls around us. The man stared at me.
"Come take a seat"
"Uh...ok" I hesitantly walk over and sit down across the table from him and he lets out a small laugh "um...sorry but...who are u and why am I here?" The old man laughs and replies, " I am what you mortals call God, and this is my home"
"Your God?"
"Correct"
"...then why am I here"
"You had died too early"
"...so I'm de-"
"Yes you are dead"
"Ok... So what now" He stared at me for a moment.
"Hm...well, I could just undo it and erase your memories...eh, thats boring though. Alright, I will give you 5 wishes"
James stared at him confused, "I don't really fallow the logic... but I don't think I have a choice really. Not like the alternative is better. So, any five wishes I want? and I might as well ask, but what do you gain from this exactly?"
"Yes anything, and as for me...well I guess mainly entertainment. Not much else though I might get a new tv to watch human shows on."
"O-ok... Well then.." James sat there and decided to ignore the last part. There are so many things he could ask for, so many possibilities. 'hmmm …ok, I think I know what I want to do.'
"1)I want to have a system"
"Ok"
"2) I want to be able to control electricity"
"Ok"
"3) I want to be in the same world I was in, 4) I want everyone to gain a system of sorts after a while"
"Seems interesting, sure" God smiled slightly as he listened to this request.
"Finally, I wish to be reborn as...Lucifer's son" He stared at James, pausing for a moment.
"Why?"
"I think it could be interesting to be the son of a prince of hell"
"Hm...k you know hell isn't really...hell though right? it's simply a different realm from what you have been living in."
"That's fine."
"Ok, is that all?"
"Yep"
The man smiled and snapped his fingers. As soon as the sound reached James's ears, everything blurred, his mind felt dizzy. And then everything turned black.
