Chapter 7 - 07 - What is a Guitar?

Sona saw several things about the game but didn't find it very interesting. Maybe there could be something that would make it fun, since Angela played it so much, but she didn't want to play now. For her, the most important thing was to help Madison make money so she wouldn't starve.

Sona looked at all the images in his briefcase and swore that one day she would investigate further. She looked on the internet at ways that people on this planet make money and felt that many of these things were very uninteresting and unworthy of a Goddess like her to do. But one of the things on the list caught her attention, for her, who was known as the goddess of music, to have something called singing live.

These people would go to bars, and perform in exchange for a little money, the better known the singer, the more he earned per night.

Sona thought that since she was a music goddess, playing in this kind of place was no big deal, with her looks and mastery of playing Etwahl, she could do it to make money. According to the article she read, for bands or artists who were starting out, they would earn the beer money they drank, or if they didn't consume anything, the place would pay them €20. For a lot it could be considered only a symbolic amount, but for Sona, who knew that the situation at her house was getting worse and worse with her pregnant mother and working in two jobs, any help was welcome.

Having made up his mind, Sona took Etwahl and put it in the box her mother had given her and put it on her back. With the address saved on her cell phone, she looked for ways to get there and prepared to go.

Madison was watching TV on Saturday when she saw Angela walking past her with the box of the instrument that she gave behind her back. "Daughter, where are you going?"

"I'm going to a bar to see if I can play there tonight." Angela said with a determined eye.

When Madison saw her daughter playing the instrument with great mastery, she knew that if the girl invested in it, her future would be bright, but something inside her didn't want her daughter to go to a dirty bar to play. But to motivate the daughter, even with the feeling she still said. "All right, daughter, but be careful, okay? Give me the address of the bar you're going to and if something happens call me immediately, okay?"

"All right, Mom, I'll text you the address from there." Sona answered with a quiet look.

Sona with Etwahl's box on her back was looking at the entrance to the bar where she read that she accepted new bands to play. On the website she saw, it said that this bar let bands play from 10:00 to 02:00. This time was divided in 30 minutes for beginners, 45 minutes for bands a little known and 60 minutes for the most-awaited bands of the night.

Sona hoped she could get some fans at this bar, so she could increase his stage time since, with more time performing, the bar would also pay more for the singer.

Sona knocked on the door a man in black clothes opened and began to stare. "What do you want?"

Sona saw his reaction but did nothing. "I'm here to take the test to sing at night."

Hearing her answer, the man raised his eyebrows and looked sideways looking for someone near her. "Just you? Where's the rest of your band?"

"I came to sing alone." She said with the usual quiet look.

"We just let bands play at the bar, if you don't have a band with you, get out." The man said as he started closing the door hard. But to his surprise, no matter how hard he tried to close, the door just wouldn't go out of place. He was curious and saw a small, delicate, white hand holding the door as if it were just a small problem.

"You must listen to me before you deny me." Sona said with a calm look, but her voice was a little darker now. She was the goddess queen of music, a mere mortal was treated with disregard. She knew that she no longer had the powers of Goddess, but the dignity of a Goddess was still with her.

The man had refused to sleep since he was dying of sleep because he stayed late cleaning the bar yesterday. Now he had been woken up by a delicate little girl with a strange box on her back asking her to sing at his bar. Plus, this little girl seemed to be even stronger than him.

"All right, girl, I'm gonna hear you play a song. If you play a song and I don't like it, no matter what you do, I won't let you sing in my bar. Do we have a deal?" The man said.

"You only need to listen to me once." Sona said with pride. She knew a mere mortal would not resist after hearing her play once.

The man heard that and counted it as arrogance. 'Humph, I deny dozens of bands playing in my bar every week, with that arrogance of yours I doubt you can play a good song.' The man thought as he prepared for how he would refuse her.

When they arrived on stage, the man signaled for Sona to come up and get ready. The equipment was off, but he didn't bother to call. This little girl probably wouldn't sing anything good, he wouldn't have to make the effort to connect the instruments for her to use.

"Did you bring your guitar?" The man asked looking at the strange box trying to decipher what might be hidden there.

"What's a guitar?" Sona asked since in her old world there was no instrument by that name.

When the man heard her question, he couldn't help but facepalmed and swear inwardly for having given this girl the chance who didn't even know what a guitar was and came acting all arrogant.
