The alarm jolted Jason awake. Was it all a dream? He reached under the covers and felt the bulge of the money in his pants. Jason bolted upright in his bed.
"It wasn't a dream." He said aloud.
A knock on the door snapped him from his reverie.
"Yeah?" Jason asked.
"We need rent money."
Jason got out of the bed and walked to the door.
"How much?" He asked.
"At least five hundred."
"Here." Jason opened the door and passed five one hundred dollar bills.
"Great! Thanks bro!"
"Yeah, can I go back to bed now?"
"Uh, sure."
Jason plodded back over to his bed and flopped into it. Should I go back tonight? He thought as sleep grabbed him.
Jason.
Jason shot upright in his bed.
"What the hell?"
No need for that. I just wanted to make sure you were coming to the Pub tonight.
"Fuck sake, it's the shining in real life." Jason mumbled.
For all his faults, he's quite the writer and a guest here tonight. Do be on time won't you?
"Are you fuckin kidding me?" Jason asked aloud as he dropped his head to the pillow.
