It was a middle-aged woman in formal attire. Although she looked gentle, her eyebrows had given away her stern personality. She spoke to An Wen softly while entering the classroom, "You must be An Wen. From now on you'll be in the advanced class. Let me help you carry your books."
The woman said as she helped An Wen with the pile of books on her table.
"Let me help you as well!" The guy sitting behind An Wen said suddenly, bending over to pick up the books.
The beautiful transfer student, who had never spoken to anyone in the elite class before, smiled at the guy and replied softly, "Thank you!"
"It's nothing, it's nothing…" The boy shied away from her as his hands trembled while carrying the books.
When An Wen and the others arrived at the advanced class, the top students, who always had their heads buried in their books, looked over simultaneously. They watched as her stuff was placed down at the last seat of the third group, an empty seat beside her.
"Since you're new, please sit here for now. There are only six more days until the exam, and we'll arrange your seat according to your ranking then," The advanced class's class teacher said.
"Okay. Thank you, teacher." An Wen nodded.
The class teacher then walked out of the classroom.
Since her stuff had been brought over, An Wen ignored her surroundings and started tidying her desk. After she was done, she referred to the timetable written on the blackboard and took out the Chinese language textbook.
An Wen sighed softly, a hint of a smile in her eyes.
'Buckle up, An Wen!'
Out of the blue, the ponytailed girl in front of her bent down to pick something up. The fair-skinned, kind-looking girl with a fringe turned around, handed her a pen and said, "This is yours."
An Wen took the pen and smiled. "Thank you!"
The girl seemed to be shocked as she gestured with her hand and replied, "It's nothing. I'm Zeng Xiuman. You look so beautiful."
With a gentle smile, An Wen replied, "
"I know right!" Zeng Xiuman approved of An Wen's words. She then continued. "They said my name is lame when they heard it. Clearly, they're uncultured."
"What happened to your head?"
"It's nothing. I accidentally injured myself," An Wen said.
"Take a look at the girl in our group's first row and the guy in the fourth group's first row!"
An Wen followed her instructions and looked over. In the third group's first row sat a short-haired girl while a boy sat in the first row of the fourth group. Their backs were facing each other, and they buried their heads in their studies.
"What's the matter?" An Wen asked.
"I was in the same middle school as them and they were the top students. The top of the honors board is their battlefield and you came from out of nowhere and conquered it!" The classroom was extremely quiet. Zeng Xiuman lowered her voice as she continued. "You scored 10 marks higher than Wu Yufei in the previous test and, as a result, they've been incredibly hardworking. You've been away for so long; will you be fine?"
"Thank you for the reminder. But, I didn't slack off and ignore my studies while I was at home," An Wen said.
The top students in the advanced class were different from the rest as the expectations of their parents and the school itself weighed on their shoulders. After observing the beautiful girl for a while, they focused back on their studies.
None of the students in the advanced class left their seats when class was over as the monthly exams was just around the corner.
It was better that way. An Wen sat on her chair, quietly receiving information about the Original Host. While flipping through her book, she summoned the knowledge in her head. Zeng Xiuman invited her to have lunch together in the canteen during lunch break and she agreed.
The two of them became the focal point of the entire student body.
When the class was over, An Wen sat in her car and returned to the mansion. As she approached the entrance of her home, she saw a Bentley inside.
