Chapter 8 - Discovering an Iron Mine?

Just as the Elven witch bladers rushed forward and swarmed the Orc tribe like a flood, this small fight came to an end.

It was the rivalry between races.

It was the rivalry between factions.

Most would not leave any enemies alive, no matter if they were old or young, no matter if they were male or female. As long as they were furry Orcs, or baby Orcs with sharp teeth, they would all have to be buried today.

Unless… they could make use of the Orcs and make them their slaves.

Of course.

There was once a very capable Orc hero that once made it known that Orcs would never become slaves; he started a new war between the humans and Orcs.

However, it was more or less useless. Orcs weren't that strong mentally. With their low intelligence, after being starved for a few days and whipped a little, all of them ended up becoming obedient slaves.

Orcs would insist that they would never become slaves. However, if someone fed and housed them, it was a whole other matter.

Although, there were some who would never surrender no matter what.

These Orcs were killed without a care, then their heads were hung in front of the other Orcs' houses. This would make the entire world cleaner.

Although they became slaves, they would still resist from time to time.

However, most of the Orc slaves were usually miners…

If not, they would participate in the fighting arenas for the nobles to get excited by the bloody scenes.

It was very hard to see a large-scale Orc rebellion that caused havoc in a human country.

Something like this had happened before and the humans remembered it.

It was the same man who declared that the Orcs would never become slaves…

However, since William hadn't found the mine, he was too lazy to retain any Orcs to do the mining either for now. He would rather let his soldiers become satisfied by killing everyone in the tribe and gain some affinity from them.

William Blackleaf jumped down from a tree branch. Lautner saw him and stopped clearing corpses on the battlefield. He walked over with a smile instead. "The results seem quite good. We don't have any casualties, with only a few rangers superficially grazed by some of the arrows."

"That's good. Did we find anything?"

Lautner pointed at the Orc corpses. "Do you see those Orcs? I'm actually quite surprised to see them having simple metal armor.

"Especially that leader. I actually got an iron armor weighing 40 kilograms from him. I've no idea how he wasn't tired. They must have found an iron mine. You need to know, our warriors took their good equipment from the Blackleaf Elven Kingdom.

"The iron mines around the town had been depleted or even sold to the human nations. Not to mention that when some of our soldiers deserted, they took some equipment from our warehouses.

"Then, that's really good news! Are there other things?" William looked around him and Norton walked out of a tall tent with a bright smile.

He raised the black but sparkling thing in his hand, shouting, "My lord, there's haematite! There is haematite used to make this exquisite Blue armor! There must be an iron mine nearby. There's also a treasure box with 130 gold coins, more than 500 silver coins, and more than 3000 copper coins."

"That's good." William narrowed his eyes and nodded. Now that they had found an iron mine and gold coins, their financial crisis had come to a temporary end.

[Mission: The danger near your territory: Clean the Orc tribe, the first task is accomplished!]

[Reward: 5000 experience points]

[Rewards: A middle-sized iron mine near the Orc tribe.]

Instantly, William rose to the level 9, receiving 4 free attribute points and one skill point. Of course, he was going to keep all of them now. Besides, he wasn't too far from the tenth level, since he had personally killed so many Orcs earlier.

This game didn't have an archery proficiency level. If the players wanted to aim their shot accurately, they would have to do it like an FPS game and depend on their skills and familiarity with the control.

Having been a top player in his previous life, William was definitely no stranger to the skills of the other occupations.

Although he was a warrior, it didn't mean that he didn't know how to use the other equipment.

As long as his attribute skills were enough, a witch blader could use a long blade and a staff at the same time, while running along with a knight.

After all…

The greatest thing about Gandalf was that no matter how many centuries had passed, he still influenced the warlock players, making them think that they were wizards in the games.

If any warlock didn't hold a powerful sword, they would be throwing the general face of all warlocks.

Different people had different opinions about how many warlock players would add attribute points to their strength.

A warlock who was able to hold a golden longsword would have added quite a number of attribute points for their strength…

However, how was the combat strength of such warlocks?

Don't talk about it.

They really weren't that f*cking weak.

People who dared to play like this were not normal people; they were all super-rich. If they bumped into such a player, it was a must to become friends, they could then continue to play together in the future.

However, for people like William to have such strong archery skills despite being a warrior with a hidden specialization in his previous life, he must already have such a talent for it.

Of course, practicing his shooting skills was something unavoidable. Not only did he have to shoot quickly and often, but he also had to be accurate as well.

It was obvious from more practice.

However, different occupations and specializations would make it difficult for them to practice their archery skills. Even if they did learn, it would be extremely wasteful for their experience points. William had only learned a few higher-level archery skills because he didn't want to waste it, he chose to practice his archery skills. It was coincidental that he had naturally deft and super agile fingers…

Besides…

If any Legendary player didn't know a trick or two about another occupation, would they still be called Legendary?

Many occupations had many aspects and many developmental ways.

This was the very charm of this game.

As long as their attributes met the criteria, a mage would be able to act as a knight and rush into a fight if they wore heavy armor. A warrior would be able to hold a wand and shoot fireballs too!

During the later parts of the game, the fighting scenes then became the interesting ones.

It was during one of the larger scale clashes between the riding characters.

The first usually wasn't some direct attacks.

Instead, there were all sorts of magical cannons, followed up with various half-assed skills while arrows were shot everywhere. Fire guns were blasted everywhere. After the long-ranged attacks were finished, the riding characters finally fought blade against blade.

As the Elven knights took all of the Orcs' equipment, they dug a trench and threw all of the corpses in. This was to prevent the decaying corpses from causing a plague. It was only then that this battle was truly over.

William nodded happily. "Everyone, you can put down that equipment. Although this fight wasn't considered to be that difficult, all of you did extremely well. I'll give you one silver coin each, while the injured will get an additional silver coin!"

"Thank you, my lord!" All of the Elven warriors looked extremely happy, not expecting their petty Lord to actually be so generous. He was very generous, giving everyone a silver coin. They all immediately used their right hand to strike their chests, bowing slightly to show their respect.

Elves are so realistic. They'll bow if there's a reward… William exclaimed in his heart before he continued to speak, "That's enough. However, you'll only receive your reward after we return to the town. Now, everyone split yourselves into groups of five and spread out to find that iron mine that now belongs to us!"

"Yes, my lord!" The Elven soldiers spread out orderly. They didn't even need guiding as they naturally broke off into small groups of five and disappeared into the woods.

The value of the iron mine was very large.

Although there were rare minerals like mythril, adamantine, purple gold, orichalcum, as well as various colorful gemstones, ores like iron, copper, and aluminum were still the most important ones in the world.

With this iron mine, the problem of repairing the Elven warriors' equipment could be easily settled as well.

If they could find more haematite, they would also be able to improve on their equipment and level it up to become exquisite equipment.

Equipment was usually classified in such a manner.

Normal (White)

Good (Black)

Excellent (Blue)

Supreme (Silver)

Following that were all the crazy additional attributes, skills, special effects, as well as Gold, Dark Gold, Epic, Legendary, or even equipment with Godhood qualities.

Of course, there were definitely some weird growth equipment.
