Soft noises from the wind awoke me out of a heavy sleep. Light slipped through the curtains dancing across Margus's sleeping figure. He looked at peace . Carefully as not to disturb him I gently moved his arm and rolled silently from the comfort of warmth. My mind was groggy still and I wanted to run down to the lake before he stirred.
The desire to go was strong and no reason that made sense. Hurriedly I shoved boots on and flew out the door. The forest was alive. An albino deer rushed across my path and colorful birds darted in the maze of branches. I picked up my pace into a full out run noting a little neon topaz colored fox skidding along beside me. He almost glowed with electricity. It was an odd sight yet welcome as I drew close to the lake.
The lake was reflecting the early morning sunrise . Pink hues and purples creating a peaceful moment. Quickly I tossed aside my boots and garments . My skin rippled with goosebumps, a chill set in the air. Senses heightened I glanced about . The little fox was looking at me quizzically on the path sitting very still. Confused I shook the ill feeling and without another thought dove into the cool waters. I swam tuning everything out. The forest and all it's strange inhabitants. Thinking of nothing and floating on my back. Water lapping gently over my body. My skin warmed by the sun.
After awhile the sun fully set I pulled myself grudgingly out of the water. Dressing quickly as I was quite cold.
Rushing back my mind was thousands of miles away. Turned off to my surroundings. As I drew closer I couldn't help but wonder what was next ? We couldnt stay here forever.
Breaking the clearing at a full run I ran straight into Margus. His arms crossed and a steely hue to his eyes. I fell back hitting him so hard my body melted into a heap. His eyes weren't looking at me. I stared in the direction of his gaze and every part of me turned cold.
The beast I feared so much stood very still unmoving . Shuddering when his voice entered my mind . "That's right little girl fear me as you have in each life" . A strong hand lifted me off the ground . Margus firmly gripping my arm pulling me backwards . He leaned to whisper in my ear. " We must go...up the mountain "
