Mary, Jack, and Yune walked around casually amidst the night. They sensed no Night Demons nearby, but they walked with a purpose. They entered into a large enough warehouse. The place was quiet and still.
Mary sighed.
"Who wants to shout? Yune? Jack?" Mary asked.
"Oh, go right ahead, Mary. You can call them out," Yune said.
"I don't want to do that. I might mess up. And it'll look so uncool."
"Well, I don't want to do it."
While the two argued about it, Jack just went ahead.
"Hey! We know you're there, Light Guardians! Nobody else is around! If you want to fight, then come at us!," Jack shouted into the sky.
Nobody came out at first. Just the sound of crickets. And then, one Light Guardian came out. And another. And another. Eventually, the whole warehouse was filled with guardians coming from all sorts of places. They wore vastly different outfits and held very different weapons. The three could only guess their numbers, but it felt like thousands.
"If anybody wants to leave, we won't chase. But if you decide to attack us, we'll kill you," Jack said.
A bullet was fired from somewhere towards the three, but as the three of them transformed the bullet flew away by the sheer force.
A blazing torrent of fire cast around Jack as red armor molded around her.
Chains held Yune's body together and then wrapped around her like a cocoon. And then the chains broke, as she emerged.
A red crystal covered Mary. She clawed her way out with intense speed and the crystal shattered into small shards.
"I don't think they're listening," Mary said, "I guess we got to get our hands bloody."
"I guess so," Yune replied, "They won't stand a chance."
"That's too bad. I've killed Light Guardians, and I regret it. But I can live with some more," Jack said.
And the Light Guardians, already transformed, went forward to fight. The sheer number of them would have guaranteed their victory if it hadn't been for one thing. Their teamwork. The three girls stuck by each other as the warehouse limited the space for the enormous amount of Light Guardians to work with.
Jack was in the forefront roaring with rage allowing her inner monster to briefly come out, but kept it on a tight leash to not hurt Yune or Mary.
Mary held onto Jack's back and fired her claws around like a machine gun. Yune also held onto her back as she created a sphere of chains around them. Whenever any projectile would come at them, the chains would most likely deflect it. The three girls worked in a team and took advantage of the tight spaces. And it was working.
Light Guardians were getting slaughtered left and right. They were all just kids, but the three girls knew that they couldn't let their guard down or feel remorse while they fought to survive.
When it was all over, the whole warehouse was covered in the corpses of young girls. Blood covered the three Dark Stars. They didn't even need to turn themselves into their monster forms. Their guardian forms were enough. They had noticed that some ran away in fear, but they let them go. However, there was one that was stuck in the corner cowering as the three girls approached. She was surrounded by her dead friends. Her hands shook. She held a pistol as a weapon. When she held it up, Mary shot her claw at the barrel shattering the whole gun until it vanished in a blinding light.
She shook as she took steps back and as she was about to conjure another pistol, Yune chained her up with her web of chains.
As Jack was about to finish the girl off, Yune stopped her. She stared into the girl's eyes and saw the glimmer of a girl utterly defeated. But she also knew they would keep coming.
"Tell others what you saw here today," Yune said, "Tell them how we massacred you guardians. Tell them how we don't want to fight any more than they do. Tell them how merciful we are."
And then with that Yune let go of her chains, and the three girls dashed away into the darkness.
When they left the girl there, she crawled by friends' sides and tried to shake them awake. She even pinched herself to see if it was a terrible nightmare. She conjured her pistol and began firing at all of the shadows hoping that it would hit the three, but they were long gone. Left alone with the bodies of thousands, but only concerned about the friends she cared for.
