Chapter 93 - Awoken World

A girl, taller than most, stood hanging with metallic tendrils chaining her to the room. Her eyes shut, but awake. The tendrils wrapped themselves around her arms as they pulled her above the ground. Her body bare for only one to see. There were scars and stitches all over her body. She didn't feel pain nor humiliation. She was unable to. There was also a signature. A cursive 'a' with a heart on top placed right on the back of her neck in gold.

A creature stood feet away from her. It had a female figure, but was covered in scales and feathers. It's head was that of a lizard with it's eyes sewn shut. Needles punctured every inch of it's forehead. It's sharp hands split in two revealing a mouth. And from that mouth grew metallic tendrils. They moved like the tentacles of a squid. Each one moved themselves onto the girl's body. They stuck themselves inside the girl's ears, but she didn't feel anything. The process continued for what felt like hours, but in reality only a couple of minutes. The creature shrieked as it finished.

And then came a girl. Most beautiful and elegant. Her figure was that of a model. She had long blonde hair that shined in the blackest of nights. She wore a light green vest with yellow stars. Dark jeans with rows of stars. A dark green baseball cap. She held a golden cane or a rod with a sparkling diamond skull on top.

She smiled gently as the creature finished it's work. When the metallic tendrils came out of the girl's ears, the creature left the two. However, the tall girl was still hanging with her arms spread wide held up by other fidgeting tendrils.

The blonde girl finally spoke passionately, "How is your head, my dear assistant?"

The girl opened her eyes coldly. She stared at the blonde and replied, "Fine. I am ready to help you with your project, Annie."

Annie clapped her hands and the tendrils let go of the tall girl.

"Excellent to know, my sweet Jacqueline. Or would you prefer Jack, assistant?," Annie replied as she caressed Jack's rough face. Annie's hands were soft and delicate, yet they carried a powerful will.

"Either is fine," Jack replied without any emotion.

Annie was unsure what happened. She was aware that there was somebody that destroyed her work, but didn't know who. She suspected her Jack to have done it, but after her creature slithered around her brain, there was nothing in her memories that could indicate that. She stayed inside for most of her time, yet she was aware of all the other Light Guardians in the area. The three guardians of darkness eluded Annie's eyes. She was still unsure what happened, but didn't let it get to her. Annie's gentle smile turned to that of a demon.

She said only one word, "Good."
