The three girls took the rest of the week off just like the other students. The news of the grizzly murder has been spread all across town, but the police were unable to find any suspects. Many have been told to stay indoors as the investigation continued, but people still had to go to work. The city was still packed with people as if nothing had happened.
And after the week ended, the children would have to go back to school, anyways.
Jack was eager to start looking for Annie, but knew the timing to search was too soon after Kira died. But nonetheless she did need to tell Mary and Yune about it.
And so on the last day of their surprise break, Jack talked to the both of them.
"Hey, you two. I need to tell you something. I need both of your help," Jack said as she sat in the living room.
Yune and Mary both listened intently to what she had to say.
Jack told them all about Annie - a Light Guardian who she saw as worse than any human. And Jack also told them how she journeyed around the country looking for her. She even mentioned the killings, but Yune and Mary weren't surprised by that. All three of them knew that each one of them must have done some kind of terrible sin to be brought back by Hades.
Jack ended her life's tale by asking them to help her.
"Please, help me find Annie. I know she's here in the city. Don't ask my why, but I know she's here. If you want me to beg, I will," Jack pleaded.
"Of course, we'll help," Yune said without any hesitation. She knew that the only reason that Jack came back was because Annie was here, so if she refused, then their party would split again. She wouldn't let that happen. And she even felt sympathy towards her.
"Well, alright. I don't mind helping, but what do you want us to do?" Mary asked.
Jack replied, "Well, I don't plan on searching every speck of this city. It would take forever. However, I do plan on using you specifically, Mary."
"Me?"
"Yep. With your mind control powers, you can easily obtain information. Whenever you get the chance, I want you to just ask around to see if anybody knows a high-school girl called Annie."
Yune said, "If what you said is true about this Annie girl, then she may change her name and looks. We should be looking for somebody with her interests. Art, was it? I doubt that would change."
"Oh. This sounds like a lot of work, baby. You want me to just ask randomly?" Mary asked.
"You could, but we'll start with people at schools, and whoever sells art supplies," Jack replied, "We can start looking after school. I doubt anybody will be going out during this week, but once school starts, then we can investigate."
"Well, alright," Mary replied, "You both helped me and I'll be glad to pay back my debt. And besides, I don't turn my back to family. Although, I guess I did turn my back to my real family, but they were all not-so-cool backstabbing jerks."
Yune nodded in agreement with Jack. The three of them stood side-by-side ready to face whatever challenges come at them.
