As soon as Kasey let go of Mammon's hand, she had a sinking feeling in her chest. As if she just sold herself to him. The enthusiasm Mammon was clearly showing wasn't much help either. He quickly went to the door and directed a servant to lead Kasey to a room she could stay in until things were ready. The maid led her to a door that was a few doors down from the office they had appeared in, slowly Kasey worked up the courage to ask where they were.
The blue-haired bowed after she opened the door for Kasey, gesturing for her to enter before looking up at the human girl and replying, "This is lord Mammon's mansion, miss. I am Crystle. I will be your caretaker while you are here, miss."
Her eyes were an icy blue and her lips were pale against her snow-white skin. The black and white maid outfit is a heavy contrast to her expression. But she still seemed beautiful. "How long do you think I will be here?"
The maid stared at the human before turning her head back down, "I cannot say, miss. The bathroom is through that door over there, and the closet is over there." The maid pointed to a door on the right side of the room then a door on the left side before she backed out of the room and closed the door; leaving Kasey by herself.
Kasey slowly sat down on the large king-size bed, her eyes wandering over the red colors and mahogany wood. A few gold accents here and there. "He sure loves to make it look like he's a king, doesn't he..?" Kasey whispered before going over every surface and vent, looking for any hidden devices. Not that it really mattered, but she didn't like the idea of someone sneakily listening in or watching her. It had never concerned her before but now she couldn't stop thinking about it. But nothing seemed out of the ordinary. A quick scan with her demon eye and she was assured that she really was entirely alone.
For better or for worse was what she needed to decide.
Shobek triple-checked the coordinates and finally sighed in defeat. They were already gone. Belasco looked over his phone, letting out a bored yawn before he looked up at Shobek.
"What now, friend?" Belasco slipped his phone into his pocket as he peered around the surroundings again.
"I'm going to Mammon. Are you coming?" Shobek shook his shoulders as his wings appeared, his horns slowly materializing.
Belasco took a few steps back, "I'll wait at home. She might come back."
Shobek nodded and spread his wings before pushing the air down underneath him, lifting him far enough up to grab onto a branch and climb on top. He slowly made his way to the top of the tree so he could break out of the forest and fly without worrying about crashing. Belasco stood still as he watched his friend finally shoot up into the sky, heading towards Mammon's closest house. The lord of greed has two, both are about 1-2 days of flying distance. Even at Shobek's top speeds, it would still take some time. Hopefully, he won't be too late. Belasco shook the thoughts out of his head and turned back in the direction of his house before teleporting to his front lawn. Ananta barked at his arrival but then started to whine when she noticed he was alone.
"They'll be back soon... Don't fret." Belasco patted the dog's head before walking into the house and up to his gaming room. "They'll...Be fine..."
Crystle came back after a couple of hours and looked over at Kasey who had showered and was digging through the closet with a towel wrapped around her tightly. "You will be dining with lord Mammon, lord Sonneillon and Prince Pyro. Please wear something suitable."
"But there is nothing to wear!" Kasey finally turned back and scowled at the maid. "There are only dresses! Why are there no pants and shirts?"
The maid stared at the fussy girl and walked into the closet, picked out a few undergarments and a deep blue dress with gold and silver sequins decorating the bottom and coming up slowly on one side of the dress before stopping before reaching the single sleeve on the dress. "May I recommend you wear this dress for tonight while I find you clothes that are more suitable to your taste?"
Kasey stared at the servant before sighing and taking the clothes, "Yes... Thank you..."
The servant bowed and stood in the corner of the room while Kasey went into the bathroom and changed. The dress was gorgeous but Kasey wasn't convinced it suit her. Kasey slowly stepped out of the bathroom and looked over at Crystle, "are you sure this is okay? I don't think it looks good on me..."
Crystle gave her a subtle smile, "it suits you perfectly. May I do your hair, miss?"
Kasey frowned slightly but didn't argue when the maid lead her to the vanity and sat her down on it. Kasey remained silent as she watched the maid curl her hair and convinced half of it to be in an elegant updo while the other part flowed over her shoulder. Next, Crystle worked on makeup and took to giving Kasey a soft brush of navy eyeshadow and black eyeliner before finishing the look with a subtle color on the lips. Finally, Crystle stepped back and bowed slightly to Kasey.
"Wow, I... Actually, look beautiful now, don't I?" Kasey gently touched her cheek, amazed at the work.
"I simply brought out the beauty that was already there, miss." Crystle smiled slightly.
"Well, you sure did wonderfully..." Kasey slowly stood up and stepped back to look over her entire outfit. "And you were right. This dress does suit me."
"Certainly, miss." The maid quickly went back into the closet and came out with some black slip-ons, and helped Kasey into them. "Shall we go to the dining hall miss? It is about time."
Kasey took a deep breath before nodding, "sure..."
