Once Carter left, Nora sighed exhaustingly. Pulling out the chain from her neck she clenched it tightly before leaving it. No matter how many times she tried to look back or to take a step back and go outside the airport, she just couldn't.
Her heart was beating heavily. Her head was like spinning around the whole area. The weather was all cold, and the fear inside her was making her body quiver. Number of times she felt like there was an earthquake because of her own trembling.
The memories she had tried to forget long ago were again coming back to her. Her eyes were getting misty but she didn't dare to cry.
Scrutinising her eyes at the surroundings, she tried to find ways to get it all over at once. Her fist was clenching but once she saw the counter for the ticket her footsteps instantly turned towards that direction.
"I can't. I can't." She had her second thoughts. Her eyes were wavering between the exit and the counter. However the chills straightened down her thoughts. Taking a deep breath she took her first step towards the counter.
She was about to walk away from the mirror, when suddenly from nowhere someone held her wrist. She staggered back with surprise.
Her eyes darkened with fury, however it got all subdued in a second when she heard a voice telling her to stop. "Running away is not a solution to anything."
Nora's breath hitched. His words weren't new to her ears, but coming on her peak time from a stranger hit her. She didn't turn to face that person and nor did that boy come forward to talk to her face to face.
"Are you scared?" He asked.
His voice was cold and aloof, but his intentions were pure. He himself has no answer of what he was doing there.
Whatever his instincts were making him do, he did it. Earlier he unconsciously extended his hand and held her. By doing that he shocked himself too.
Not in the world he ever took the initiative to talk to a girl or ever took the lead to touch any girl. As a matter of fact he did nothing like this with any girl before.
When the girl spoke to her uncle, she looked domineering but he heard her vulnerability in that talk. Her vulnerability also shows how strong she was to actually come so far from her home alone.
Infact all this time he can't even see her face. The only thing he could see was her holding onto some necklace. Which looks very important to her. The necklace was very beautiful and eye-catching at once.
After hearing her conversation with her uncle, he somehow felt a little worried for her. He didn't get what was happening, but he guessed one thing from her eyes when she was looking at the exit and to the counter.
Even if he knew nothing, he unknowingly just didn't want that person to give up so fast. The first step is always tough, and that's the place he only wants to help her out.
To his question Nora didn't answer.
The boy didn't stop and asked again. "Are you scared?"
Nora for a second wanted to turn and face him, but then she didn't have the courage to do so either. Looking away from the counter, she was staring at continuously, she hummed in reply. "Mmm."
Her humming suddenly made him forget what to say. He wasn't facing her back, instead their backs were facing each other, but her humming with no reason just surprised him.
Rolling his eyes he ignored that feeling and left her wrist from his hold. Leaning to the mirror he looked down to his feet and spoke slowly.
"Do you think you can run away from it every day?"
"..."
"You can't hope to ignore it forever. You yourself know that it's inevitable."
"... It's too hard." She honestly said. Living all those emotions for once again is too hard. She herself knows her exhaustion of running away from her past everyday. But remembering them is better than any punishment.
"Then take small steps. Today you have already taken a big step towards it. Now let's take small steps for now. Okay?" He asked.
That tone wasn't tender or gentle, but to Nora's ear it was very soothing to calm her heart. Nora lightly nodded.
"Is it hard for you to step out of the Airport?" He asked.
Nora's fist clenched. Looking sideways, she replied. "Everything will change."
"Don't think about that. Just tell me, is it hard for you to step out to any other place?"
"No." Nora replied truthfully.
"Then ignore this environment or this land and just go out. Don't think what that step will lead you to, just go. Afterwards go and sleep in your hotel room. Once you are done with all this, you will know what to do next."
In his words, Nora turned and looked towards the Airport exit door for a while. The way he said those words, it sounded very easy to her. But is it really that easy? She thought to herself.
Once thinking it that way, it actually doesn't look that much hard to her. Her heart that was racing heavily, started calming down with the thought of those small steps he talked about.
When she turned, his side profile was visible to Nora.
His narrowed eyes with a scrutinising gaze, looked at her eyes, the only thing attracted him from the very start. And the only thing that wasn't covered with a mask.
"Don't terrify yourself with those extra thoughts, just carry on with these tiny things first. Take a rest. Once you are all awake from this tiredness, you won't be this scared. You can do this much right?"
Nora took a pause but hummed in reply. "... hmm."
"Good. Now go outside."
Before Nora could say anything or even look back to the boy, he went off. She stared at his back with inexplicable feeling.
Suddenly from nowhere someone came and told her to do something, and surprisingly she wanted to follow his words.
Strangely without knowing the meaning behind it, or how does that person know what was going on in her life or how his suggestion can help her out, she actually finds it right and unknowingly decides to follow his words.
