This time with his words, he piqued Nora's attention. Her eyes, which were staring at him nonstop, started blinking a number of times in a second. She forgot what to say.
She opened her mouth to speak but got nothing to voice out. She knew what those words meant. But she didn't know how to feel about that.
Taking a few deep breaths she finally spoke. "...Excuse me?"
"I want you Nora. I want to be with you."
Nora was about to stop him when not thinking twice, Matthew started speaking.
"I like you, Nora. I have liked you for so long. I had tried many ways to ignore this feeling but I couldn't. I tried to like other girls, but I couldn't. So I decided to chase you as gently as I can because I didn't want to scare you."
"But, you blocked all of my ways to you. Then today I wanted to propose to you, but see, you have your own different plans. I am very perplexed with my emotions right now. So please tell me what to do."
'Blink Blink' 'Why is she getting blamed by everyone?' Nora straightened her back. Looking awkwardly at him she tried her best to not be harsh this time with her words.
"...I... I don't know." She replied. It was the first time. It was her first time that someone confessed his feelings to her openly and bluntly.
She didn't know what to do or to say to such a confession. Other times with someone's 'I like you' she would just ask them to leave or Sorry or thank you.
But this time things look a little serious. Matthew's eyes were screaming out his honesty. Moreover it's Matthew, someone she knows personally too.
However, thinking as fast as she could, she couldn't bring out any nice words to deny that. What should she say? She never learnt how to do smooth talking or how to talk to please someone. In the end she spoke the truth.
"Umm Matthew I think we should go back. I really can't help you with this. You are drunk too. You need to rest." Saying that she took her phone from the table to get ready to leave.
Seeing her movements Matthew's eyes darkened immediately. Before Nora could stand, Matthew stood up first and walked towards her. "Of course not. Nora, only you can help me. I am here standing vulnerable. Just hold me and everything will be alright. Okay?"
Nora's back bent backward before Matthew's hand could reach her cheeks. "Matthew, you are drunk. Don't be stupid. We can talk tomorrow too."
Matthew instantly shook his head in denial. "No. We don't need to waste any more of our time. Whatever needs to happen will be done today only."
Saying that he stood right at the back of her chair. Nora got nowhere to go. She was stuck between the table and the chair. She fumbled to move but was stopped by Matthews's hand on her shoulder as he continued with his confession.
"Let's start dating from today. We will be happy. I will make you happy. I promise. You will never find the need to leave us. This will be your true home."
"Matthew, do not do something which you will regret. I warn you again. Leave me right now."
"In our case, I don't think that there is something to lose anymore anyway."
Saying that he bowed over, close to her side face. Nora kept trying to distance herself, but Matthew held her tightly by her shoulder. At that time, Nora knew that she made a mistake by not bringing her guards with her.
She wanted to shout for help, but their VVIP rooms are fully soundproof. She didn't want to lose her cool, but Matthew crossed his line long ago. Her eyes turn gloomy with her madden heat inside her.
"I am warning you Matthew one last time." She spoke again, but this time the coldness and the danger were quite visible.
However, Matthew's eyes were blind by drunkenness and with his own desires. "I want you to be mine today. No matter what. I-"
Before he could say anymore he suddenly felt the immense pain on his ankle.
"Ahhh!" Screaming out in pain he fell down on the ground.
"What the F*** Nora." He yelled loudly.
"I need to make you sober."
"You kicked my shrine! Dame it!!"
"Do you want me to kick your Winnie then?" She didn't blink for once as she asked back. Her facial expression was blank. Her aura was cold.
Matthew was on the floor. He wanted to reiterate but her tone and complexion scared his wits. He covered his private part instantly.
He has been following Nora for so long, but this is the first time that he saw this side of Nora. Not in the world he ever saw her angry, or even frustrated by something. Every other time she looked more like a pushover to him or to everyone.
In-Office because of jealousy, many people hate her. They would oppress her, act domineer in front of her. Even in school, many students tried their way to bully her too.
But unexpectedly no one ever succeeded with their plans. Whenever Matthew thought that he would save Nora and can be a hero in her eyes, Nora would come out of the situation as nothing happened.
With time, people around her started ignoring her. But now after seeing her this way, he can tell what could be the back story. People around her weren't ignoring her, but more like they were scared of her.
They were running away from her. Over time, no one would come in her way nor would try to act smart against her. They preferred to outcast her than fight for themselves. They were just cowards in front of Nora.
Realising the truth, he suddenly got chills down his spine. "I… Nora, you can't do this-"
