Chapter 13 - Chapter 9

The middle aged man, knowing he had been played, sighed and looked away, feeling embarrassed. He realized this boy wasn't easy to trick. He smiled and looked back at the kid in front of him.

"I thought you were trying to ignore all the strange events around you."

Gambit replied immediately.

"That's right. I was but I keep getting dragged into them. It can't be helped that I'm a little curious. Would you please kindly tell me what the hell is going on?"

As if caught, the guard replied with his hands up.

"Alright, alright. You caught me, I will tell you everything. But before that, let me ask you a question. Do you remember what happened on the day you were brought in?"

"No."

"Then let me tell you what happened."With his hand cupping his chin, he looked into the distance with a melancholic look. After exhaling a whiff of bad air, he opened his mouth again and started.

......

In a certain space outside of earth, there appeared to be all kinds of stars and asteroids as far as the eye can see. Everything seemed to be a perfect work of art, like it was prearranged on a whims of a god. All kinds of colors filled the space around a blue board. The stars seemed closer than they should appear in this area. That was because they were.

All of it seemed normal, including the blue board that was hovering in space all alone and one can never think it was weird. That was until suddenly the blue board ejected a person who seemed to be lying on the ground. The strange thing about it was that the individual didn't have anything under him but just looked strange with his lay down position.

Looking closely, it can be noticed that he seemed to be holding a six feet tall blue beam of light. Like the arrival of an apocalyptic event, it was so sudden but the person holding the beam was suddenly pushed back at an incredible speed. He was being pushed back so fast that it could be noticed a few stars away were someone standing there.

The most interesting factor was that he was being pushed unobstructed by the space debris or by his body falling apart from the pressure.

After mapping out a crude path in space and a creating a few human shaped holes in meteoroids, he came to a stop on a gigantic dwarf planet. After who knows how long on this dwarf, a certain crater suddenly started to shake, creating a biblical seismic wave that sunk a few mountains a separated a huge chunk of the lonely continent. All kinds of dust and gases got mixed up together that it created a few explosions in the space around the dwarf planet and this persisted for a long time until somewhere deep in the crater, a few suddenly sat up.

He looked around and noticed that he was at the center of a huge hemispherical pit. He ignored it like it was common place and stood for a while, slapping the dust off himself and watching it slowly fall to the ground. After a deep reflection, he shifted his gaze to space and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but twitch a little. He suddenly shifted his gaze to his right arm and watched as the solid beam of light suddenly disintegrate and disappear into nothingness.

That didn't faze him one bit, instead he waved his hand and a blue screen suddenly floated in-front of him. He touched a few controls on it and a person appeared on it.

"No no no, you have hip thrust like this."

And then the person on the other side of the screen got on the ground and started hip thrusting the ground in a snakey movement. This was followed by a bunch of half naked youths screaming,"yes, sir", and getting on the ground imitating his movements.

"You have put your soul in it, feel the air around you mesmerized your movements. Make your wives and girlfriends hypnotized, you know what I mean. That's what I mean. Soul. Now face the sky and scream

-ah dad."

"""ah dad"""

Watching this scene, the old man suddenly regretted until his intestines turned green that he never educated his son more. He relished in the fact that there was no one around him, otherwise he would be the talk of the town for a few months. He clenched his hands to restrain his anger and glared at this disappointment in-front of him for a while until his anger cooled down.

As if realizing his mistake. The son on the other side suddenly stood and shouted to the people he was instructing.

"Ok. That's all for today. Pack up and leave now."

As if confused by the sudden end of the class, they hesitated for a while until the looked to the ceiling. There was a blue screen with an old man on it, glaring at them like a hawk noticing invaders in its nest. They suddenly realized what was wrong and dashed out immediately, clearing up the place in less than an instance.

Seeing as they were gone, the son nervously looked up and said.

"Hey dad, it's not what it looks like. I promise I had finished my-"

He was suddenly interrupted by his father's harsh voice and kept his mouth shut.

"I don't care what you get up to in your free time. As long as it doesn't interfere with your training. I can see some progress. Now I wanted to tell you about something."

Seeing his father's serious look. He straightened his back and nodded solemnly.

"It's nothing serious, I just found an old friend. It seems his skills haven't deteriorated from his years of laziness. It seems he's in that bird's territory."

"But dad, what was he doing there?"

The old man replied after a moment.

"It seems he's protecting the guy with the weird name. I don't remember "

The son was suddenly confused by that statement. However, after a moment of recall he shouted with an extremely surprised expression on his face.

"Gambit? But how is that possible? Didn't he.."

"I know. Hehe it seems like it will be interesting in the future."

The father suddenly remembered looked towards his son.

"It seems I'm free this weekend. I'm coming to check up on you. If I find out you faked your progress again. Hmm hehehe!"

Then suddenly the blue screen turned off on both sides and a cold sweat appeared on the back side of the troublemaking son. He immediately rushed out of his room with a desperate look.

On the other side, the father grinned and murmured to himself.

"Hehehe, it's good to scare that lazy brat for a bit. And you Gambit, I look forward to the chaos you will start again."

Until that moment. Everything returned to normal. Nothing was out of place, there was no crater, no disturbance in space or the dwarf planet for that matter. It was as if everything had gone back to normal and no one had been there. That was including the blue board that still hanged among the stars with no fluctuations at all. If anyone was there, they would assume everything was an illusion.

.........

The middle aged security guard then said,

"The reason you were all mangled up was that you saved someone who was special, atleast her family was special in a way."

Gambit then asked with some confusion.

"Are they powerful politicians or something?"

The guard replied with a chuckle then an explanation.

"I guess so, but that wasn't what I meant by special. I meant this."

With a snap of his fingers, a small rotating fire suddenly appeared in his hand and hovered there for a while, neither extinguishing nor increasing. It was an incredible sight that normal people would never come to face in their entire lives. It was a scene out of this world, like magic.
