Kathrine had just woken up in her new room. She saw that the fallen leafs from the trees on the ground had multiplied, and the leafs on the trees had minimized. You could hear the wind blowing outside and making the leafs dance.
Her mother and little brother were already sitting by the kitchen table and eating breakfast. "Good morning sweetie" said Miss Wood. "Morning" Kathrine replied, with a weak and tired voice. "Are you sick?" Miss Wood asked her daughter with a worried look. "No mom I'm fine, it's just a little cold" Kathrine replied. 'I hope my classmates aren't too judgmental' Kathrine thought while walking on a sidewalk on her way to her new high school. The school looked small, but it definitely didn't have a lack of students. By the stairs were a few girls sitting close to each other gossiping. And by a bench beside the stairs where a few jocks passing a football around. And then there were a few other small groups keeping to themselves. Kathrine felt as if everyone was staring at her, judging her silently, deciding wether they wanted her in their "group" or not. "Hello!" Came a boy with a big camera in his hands. "My name is Eric, and I'm responsible for the yearbook page! Mind if I take a picture of our new student?" He asked. "Sure...?" Kathrine said in an awkward tone trying to be polite. *Flash*
"Quit it Sander!" Said a tall boy with tan skin and short Afro hair.
- What's your problem dude?
- Can't you see that your bothering her with that nerdy camera of yours? *Sarcasm*
- Yeah yeah whatever, nice to meet you...
- Kathrine.
- Kathrine, that's a pretty name for a pretty girl. *wink*
Eric walked away with his camera while the other boy stayed. "Now that we're alone, let me introduce myself. My name is Alexander, but my friends call me Alex" he said while having a victorious look on his face. "Nice to meet you, Alexander... or Alex? But you shouldn't have been so mean to Eric" she said trying to be brave. "Ahh that nerd. Pfft he's fine we're old friends, we always tease each other" He said not very convincing. "Ok, well I better go to class" Kathrine replied. "Hope I'll see you soon, Kathrine" Alex said while looking at her while she was walking away. 'Hope I won't' Kathrine thought. She wandered around the school with a school map in front her face for a little while. She finally found her way to her first period. The teacher had kind and calm blue eyes. And her lips changed from a smile to an even bigger smile when she saw you. "Oh you must be Kathrine! Welcome to Halls high school. I'm Miss Call. Why don't you say something about yourself?" Miss Call said with an excited voice. "Something we don't already know!" Said a distant voice coming from the back laughing. "Well, my name is Kathrine Woods, and I've just moved from LA to, well here" she said with a nervous voice. "Thank you Kathrine, why don't you go and sit next to Mr. Blake right over there" Miss Call said while pointing to a boy with pale skin, dark hair that stood up like spikes and was wearing a white t-shirt. They didn't say anything during class, but his face expressions said a lot. She got this cold vibe from him, and when she was about to say something, he immediately looked at her with his deep brown cold eyes, that made her quiet. The bell rang and everyone stormed out of their classrooms. People were hanging up banners that said "Halloween dance 1993!" And they were decorating the whole school with spiders, webs, pumpkins and more.
"Hey new girl!" Said a girl with long wavy ginger hair in the shade of brown, and hazel eyes, running with her books in her arms. "Hello?" Kathrine said with a confused look. "Hi I'm Allison! Allison Bale, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out this afternoon? There's this local hangout, it's kind of like an 'all age' club, everyone always hangs out there" Allison said with a big smile on her face. "Err... sure I'd love to" Kathrine replied nervously. "Great! See you later alligator"
