Chapter 29 - A Vision

🔮💭

A young gorgon girl sits alone on the bed wiping away the tears she just shed.

She is startled when someone knocks on the door, "Hello, may I come inside Juno?"

Recognizing the voice she calms down and answers with a soft, "Yes."

A young woman walks inside, but she's older than Juno by who knows how many years.

It's hard to tell with fairies since they age slower.

"Is everything alright? I noticed you left before you could finish your meal."

"Yeah, I'm okay... I wasn't that hungry."

She crosses her arms, "Hm, I can tell that's a lie. You don't have to lie to me you know?"

Under her intense look, she wavers a bit, "I'm just tired."

The young fairy doesn't look convinced at all. She sighs as she sits by Juno's side and says, "You are young and yet you've gone through so much in such a short time, I won't ever understand that but it must be...," she puts her hand on Juno's shoulder in a comforting gesture, "It's okay to be scared."

Juno's voice cracks as she admits, "I'm not okay, I hate being scared. I just, I'm tired. I want to go home but then I remember no one's there."

"Oh dear..."

"I really am all alone now and that, it scares me so much."

"Do not say that you're all alone. You have your gift. And am I nothing? I'm right here by your side as well! And so-"

Juno interrupts her, "I'm so sorry!"

"Do not apologize. A simple 'thank you' will suffice."

With a small smile she says, "Thank you so much, Sophia."
