I just saw a shooting star.
I watched it's light fade in the sky.
Thoughts swarm in my mind:
"one day I too will die."
These thoughts linger in my head.
They make my stomach churn.
I will no longer exist to the world one day.
My candle will no longer burn.
Why we die, I do not know.
Life is just to quick.
To think it may be pointless,
Makes me scared and sick.
What point can there be to live?
The answer I wish to know.
From the moment we enter the world,
Our minds and bodies grow.
We gain knowledge through existence.
But why must we be smart?
If we should die tomorrow,
From our bodies we shall part.
Facing the world we live in
And watching it progress
It's what we have each day.
It makes our lives a test.
We learn to love and care,
In this world of hate.
What's the point in feeling?
If when we die, it's innate?
Death is inevitable to life,
It's the one thing we can't escape.
We must grow to gain acceptance
To this predicted fate.
Yes, it's true, we all will die.
So it's up to us to choose.
When we die the question is....
Will we win or lose?
We only have one opportunity
To make a choice we won't regret.
To make the right one will be rewarding,
And also hard, I bet.
So when it seems it just won't work.
Nothing is going your way...
Just remember it will get better
For tomorrow's another day.
Don't let life bring you down...
Instead lift it to the sky!
We have only one chance to live...
Because one day we die.
