Chapter 274 - Bit Of Golem

Sometimes it is better one focus on the small rather than the large details of life, for the large are often accumulations of the small, individually unnoticed pieces.

Naomi grinned lazily atop him for a few seconds. Her face was a little red as she turned her vibrator off. "...mmm... Good. Okay, let's see what you're working with." She glanced back and peeled his pants & underwear down. "Oh. Now I know why you're so good at oral."

"You can just wrap your pinky around it."

Naomi shrugged, reached her hand down. Something vibrated and her clitoris had a Pavlovian response before she realized it was her tablet. "Ugh."

"It's okay, I know you have to leave."

Naomi looked down at him, smiled, then kissed him before she left. She was in a good mood and still a little horny. She had on one of her favorite shirts: a t-rex with one enormous left arm and a stubby little right.

She was quick to a nearby avenue to respond to a robbery, and as she turned the corner and caught sight of the store at the end of this line of businesses -

" - oh, so that's what they looked like."

A mob of velociraptors were rushing out of the store a hundred feet away, their plumage pink and their feathers gold, fluttering out in all random directions; Naomi rushed at them as Avalanche's stone arm formed and a volley of bullets shot out that pockmarked a few, but left only a few wounds as they all scattered; two rushed at Naomi from ahead -

- but two stone fists burst out of the wall beside and barraged them back to the Jurassic era, blood spurting and gore gushing out of their reptilian bodies under the one-two punches, Naomi keeping pursuit of what foes she could ahead.

She knew she would need her Hyper Ability in some sense and decided to use it as she ran: "Avalanche: Golem."

A basketball-sized bit of floating clay appeared beside Naomi,

then latched itself upon her stone arm like a baby to its mother's breast, suckling for nourishment as it began to grow legs. She remembered what her friend Julia Bates had told her upon hearing the name Golem: "Haven't us Jews already had enough stolen from us?" and snickered.

The velociraptors cut left past the corner building ahead; Naomi's stone fingers snapped and reduced the building to dust, allowing her cut across and catch up only 30ft behind them on the road; with a single stomp on the asphalt she set them staggering, but in the next instant -

- three velociraptors jumped onto her from behind -

- but she fell back and slammed her back so hard into the pavement the raptors were crushed into a bloody paste, sending a fissure through the road and staggering the reptilian mob ahead. She rose ahead, rushing forward. Once she was 20ft within, she shouted for Avalanche; a gate of stone opened up beneath the mob and dozens of stone hands dragged the raptors down like a Greek hero into Hades, ripping, tearing at their squawking beaks until the gates slammed shut and no reptilian noise could be heard.

Her foes condemned to the underworld, Naomi glanced around for the host, still caked in raptor paste as she set her golem down gently beside her, the two-legged stone still suckling at Avalanche's fingers like a particularly horny lesbian does their mistress's. She saw no sex nor sight of her foe, but in the next instant -

- several beaks entered her flesh and stabbed at her back, pinpricking though she could see no origin; she realized they were forming in the blood splattered upon her, and clenched shut her eyes & ears for the next unpleasant counter -

- and the road beneath her spun rapidly, rapidly, rapidly and rotated even quicker, centrifuging and splattering all blood away from her; in the next instant she dizzily stomped and launched herself back, throwing one enormous disc of reflective stone that intensified the sun's gaze into a superheated ray that evaporated away the blood, leaving her to stagger back against the side of another store, her one-armed child holding her arm tight.

She felt microvibrations in the ground that soon turned macro in the building at her side, and in the next instant -

- a pink-feathered tyrannosaurus rex burst out of the building and its titanic maw shot for her; she could only dodge barely as she aimed an Avalanche punch for its nose -

- but its teeth gripped her mid-flight hand -

- which dissipated into a cloud of clay that clogged up its mouth, Naomi having separated her hand to avoid full amputation; it was stunned momentarily as Naomi staggered back, but still swept its tail down upon her -

- she could not grab it; a stone cage formed around it and she ran as fast as she could away from it, up the avenue and putting as much distance as she could between herself & the feathered beast still chewing on clay, golem & mother running in unison.

"Looks like I-I can get blood from a s-stone." she winced, Avalanche's handless arm spewing blood in thick gushes as she ran. She reformed her stone hand, but this was a far weaker material than Avalanche's typical hand; without her flesh to fasten onto it would not be able to punch much but a wall. Her child ran alongside her, until she stopped and bid it pause beside her. It looked up at her with confusion and fear, quivering.

"Fu- frick." she winced, not wanting to cuss in front of her child. She crouched and hugged it, then pulled back and looked in its stone eyes. "You- you have to go, okay? Mom needs you to be strong where she can't."

The golem drooped. A stone tear crested down its stone cheek.

"Oh, dang it. Why do you have to give me that stony look? You're putting me in between a rock and a hard place." Naomi frowned. "Just roll out, okay? You can't just take me being around for granite. Maybe I haven't been the best mom to you, but I still have some sedimental value, right?" She glanced back and saw the rex swallowing the last of the clay. "It's now ore never. You have to be boulder than this."

The golem went off before this bit hit rock bottom.

She mentally commanded it to seek more stone to grow itself as she hit the sidewalk, rushing past the line of specialty stores; she sighed relieved to see a jewelry store, ducking inside and flashing her Urasaria badge to the clerk. "I need your assi-stones- fuck- do you have any silver? She glanced over the displays.

"Yes, obviously. What do you think we are?"

"Real silver."

"…oh. No."

"Of fucking quartz." sighed Naomi, then groaned at herself as she rushed past the displays. She raked her handless arm through the glass and made do with a ragged hand of diamond jewelry, chiseling it to a gleaming drill. She heard the rex gaining speed outside, and turned to see it erupt through the doors with its tail swinging hard -

" - Avalanche!" she shouted and raised her stone arm & diamond hand; the diamond drill shot out like a launched stake and impaled the rex's tail to the wall, and out through the back door she rushed, dodging underneath a set of fired triceratops horns that had formed from the rex's own blood.

She was back in another avenue and turned left as she ran; a stone pole burst out of the store at her left and she leaped & caught onto it, flipping and flipping forward upon another & another like a gymnast. An electronics store was at the end & to the left, and there she landed & rushed inside, hearing the rex smashing through several businesses in its stone-cold pursuit of her.

She spoke not a word to the clerk as she slammed her handless arm through every computer case & laptop & monitor she saw on the shelves, allowing every mineral she found to merge as one as her hand, Avalanche still yet to purify it down to silver. In the next instant, the rex burst in through the wall at her left, two triceratops besides it rushing like bulls at Naomi; she stood her ground, and as they came within a few feet -

- she grabbed one's horn with her flesh hand and flipped herself onto its back, and a stone fist slammed its side hard and redirected its charge into the other triceratops, spearing it into the wall; no damage was done as its own blood regenerated itself, but by now, Naomi had leapt off from it and slid underneath the roaring rex; clouds of stony dust scattered in all directions and distracted its attention, their true mistress having already slid underground and covering her tracks well as she continued her rush & deeper burrow.

'Dinosaurs, regenerates and repopulates off liquid.' she thought as she ran and burrowed. 'Ugh. Just gotta keep my coal and wait for Golem...' She mentally scanned for Golem's current location, taking care not to leave its wide range, until in the next instant -

- two long brachiosaurus heads burst in her tunnel from above and shot towards her; she lurched back -

- but a third slammed its long neck & head directly into her spine and launched her forward with enough force that she knew a maw would be awaiting her at the end of it; she was forced to summon a series of dirt hands that threw her rapidly back up to the surface, and as she reached the ground, a final hand launched her 100ft up in the air & away.

As she hit her peak and started to fall into another avenue she groaned, winced, then covered herself in a stone cocoon.

The reverberation of her landing still amplified her accumulated pain and fatigue, groaning as she recovered, cursing her own slowness to crawl out of the cocoon and stand again. Her legs were not working well; she had ten seconds before they would be upon her again, and that fact staggered her around as she tried to reinvigorate her legs. Avalanche's mishmash mineral hand began purifying into silver, discarding all superfluous material away.

Her mind whirled: how had they tracked her underground? She had trained her burrow with Serena and Yuruko and others: not even Kate could accurately guess her location when burrowing. She saw the long necks of Brachiosaurus arise in other avenues and thought perhaps they saw her again, and as she tightened her arms she felt the sweat accumulate in her pits and knew now how they had tracked her.

'Liquid in general. Fuck.'

She stumbled over to a nearby store, punched their wall and ripped out their electrical wiring; her silver hand reshaped into several prongs and she electrolyzed every bit of liquid on herself into oxygen, wincing under the pain of self-electrocution. No way to track her now, she stepped carefully into a store some businesses down and hid against the wall there.

She felt microvibrations around her that grew macro, then shrunk again; she dared not turn her head, despite knowing the bullshit about tyrannosaurus rexes being unable to see unmoving creatures.

She glanced over to the clerk, who saw her now: he smiled and said: "Oh! You're a Urasaria student! God, it's so nice to see one that's actually such a beauty, it's like you students don't care at all about how you look to men-"

- and as Naomi heard the dinosaurs' respond to his idiotic shout, the next scene was instant. She leaned against the wall and a stone casing formed over her; it moved rapidly & horizontally across the wall to the back of the store as the rex & triceratops & Brachiosauri entered in through the front, and stomped the man into bits; no time to waste, she reduced the back of the store to dust and rushed again into another avenue, running, running until she reached another store that she reduced to dust and rushed over their rubble as well, finally turning in the next avenue to see the rex & triceratops & half-dead velicoraptors & brachiosauri all rushing towards her 50ft away.

She stood her ground as they came 40ft within, then 30 & 20, and as they singlemindedly pursued her from 10ft away, the ground rumbled beneath them -

- and an enormous golem's fist uppercutted through the rex and sent it staggering in agony; it rose out of the ground like a titan escaped and stomped the triceratops into red paste, causing the brachiosaurus & velociraptors to pause in great terror & fear.

Naomi smiled as she put some further distance between herself and looked up at her golem. It was grown up now and the size of a building, tectonic & titanic, its body chiseled with no faults, its eyes of two enormous reflective stones. There was no need to talc as it lurched to the three brachiosauri and its mighty hand caught one by his long neck, grabbing him up like a whip and slamming him against his own brothers; pained reptilian groans emit from the anatomically correct creatures, yet its second hand grabbed the two fallen and tied all 3 necks together like a three-gripped lasso, slamming it down into the group of velociraptors and reducing them into a red smear as the avenue burst up like a mismatched seesaw.

At the end of the avenue was its tyrannosaurus rex foe, now recovering and a few seconds distance from the golem, and as the golem's reflective stone eyes looked upon it -

" - hey!" shouted Naomi from below. "Liquid!"

The golem angled its head down, and when the sun hit its reflective eyes right, it was not amore as superheated rays refracted through it and disintegrated every last bit of blood & gore it had accrued in the fight previously; its mistress's will done, it glanced up -

- just in time for the rex to bite tightly upon its arm, thrashing, refusing to let go even as the golem's other fist pummeled its back; soon the weight forced the two combatants down to the ground, and in a whirlwind of blows they revolved up the avenue, smashing and rolling through the asphalt, Naomi rushing in pursuit at a distance to ensure her golem would still be active.

The stubby reptilian arms grabbed and sliced away at the golem, its maw seeking the blackened eyes housed within its stone skull as its tail slammed the golem down. As its maw rushed to grab at the head, a lamppost was slammed into its skull and it rolled off from the golem with a heavy groan; the golem had caught up a nearby lamppost and brained the rex with it repeatedly, every slam begetting another crunch of bone in that titanic skull; yet with another rebuke of its tail it had shoved the golem back and away, rising to its two-feet as the golem was momentarily stunned.

The rex was bleeding from a score of wounds and jets of blood shot all from it, then transformed into a swarm of pterodactyls that were upon the golem in moments, a cacophony of squawking alongside the stabbing of beaks, the attempted erosion of its dwindling skull; the rex rushed at it and forced it to use both its hands to hold it at bay, unable to swat away the swarm above. Inch by inch, the pressure of the rex's weight forced the golem further back, until they were in a less populous area of the city, and as the pterodactyls circled for yet another divebomb -

- the golem stomped down and an eruption of stone dust shot out from the avenue below, coating every bird & dino in a thick layer of stone; though it could not halt their attacks completely, the stone meant it would regenerate most damage their beaks did to it, and this surprised the rex enough that the golem's thumbs could draw back and shoot at its eyes, attempting to gouge them as a horrific cry came out from the beast.

As it continued to gouge, the rex's tail swept to slam into the golem, but the stone was quick; its right hand gripped the tail mid-sweep and threw the rex down the avenue with it, rushing in stone-cold pursuit after its prey as it rolled & rolled & rolled down the avenue, power poles & busses strewn, Naomi keeping her distance below but still within range.

She saw above the swarm of pterodactyls spinning off their dusty coats as the golem rushed down this line of buildings, and as the entire swarm made for a suicide dive towards it, she knew they would attempt to bloody themselves so as to reproduce; the golem turned, and at the last moment -

- ducked away and slammed itself into a nearby building, absorbing it completely and ripping out a nearby power-pole with it; the flying swarm shot uselessly past it, and as they turned to recenter their target, the power pole was already raised high like a scepter as a ring of a basalt dust erupted out of the golem -

- and the conductive material called upon a mighty lightning storm that erupted overhead and millions of bolts shot out from it, spewing & bouncing & ricocheting & shooting between every single falling & now dead & bloodless bird, the storm still raging overhead, even as the rex rose at the end of the avenue and rushed in to avenge its fallen comrades -

- but it was too late; a single bolt shot out from the scepter and staggered it as the golem dropped it, and with surprising swiftness for its size shot behind the stunned rex, wrapping the power line around its neck like a necklace of barbed wire, strangling, wringing it tighter & tighter as it flailed and shrieked like a dinosaur in mortal agony, not a single vapor of blood able to escape. With its prey choked and its other hand free, the golem slammed its fist into the rex, again and again and again and again and again, shoving its head back into its neck as its eyes shot out in two geysers of blood & white sclera, shrieking until not even that pain was audible as its flayed neck fell apart in pieces and a final punch to the head reduced it into a little dead man in the golem's hand.

As it readied to crush him -

" - hey!" shouted Naomi. "Down."

The golem shamefully looked down at her like it had done something wrong, then gently placed the man's corpse at her feet. She sliced his heart out, then crouched down to scan.

[SCARY MONSTERS: Creation of anatomically accurate dinosaurs that feast upon liquid.]

She stepped away. "Okay, now."

The golem stomped him into paste at the bottom of a street crater. Naomi looked up at it and smiled. "Now, what took you so long? I was quarried."

The golem groaned, then reached down to pick her up. She sighed as she rode upon its mighty hand for about a mile, though this was beginning to strain her. "Alright, alright. Let me down." It let her down to the street. "See you next time." She snapped her fingers and unbirthed it. (Using her mind, not her vagi
