The angel Uriel is said to make a butterfly flap its wings in the west and a hurricane apper in the east. That's what the church said. That's what they all believed.
What would happen if a human had that kind of power? It's a terrifying thought. Every step could become an earthquake. Evry breath cause even the sturdiest building's to topple. Empires would fall at your feet. The one with that power would rile. For better or for worse. If it was for worse who could fight them? Would that make him Uriel. Or would that make her the butterfly, the product of something else? One thing was clear though
She wanted me at his side. So she took me. Hid me away from the outside world. From all but her and a chosen few. Hers. Hers. Hers. I was hers. That's all I was.
I didnt open my eyes as she lay next to me.If she talked i would give him the same answer I always did. She always accepted it. The sun broke over the horizon and I felt him shift. It never failed to make wake. I turned my head. Her eyes held nothing but fondness. I looked away. Then that damned chuckle as he kissed my temple. It my skin craw. Bile rose in my throat. I didn't stop it. She was at my side in seconds. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" I shuddered as she touched my forehead. "M'fine. Probably something I ate" Her emerald eyes iced over. "Do you know who prepared your meals yesterday" oh God "I- No I don't" it came out to quick. Fuck. Her eyes narrowed "I'm going to assume you lying to me was a result of your sickness, Asha" Asha. I hated that name. I wanted to scream at her claw at her, tell her that my name wasn't Asha it was Ayeshirea. But I didn't. She sighed as she lay me down again. "I'll have someone clean that, and clear my schedule today, you look like death warmed over." No. No. I wanted her gone. Se didn't take no as an answer. Se never did. She held me close to his chest. A position that was sickeningly familiar. Se held me tightly as the maid he called. Ella. Cleared my sick from the side of the bed. She caught my eye and mouthed to me. "I'm sorry you have to go through this" I mouthed back at her. "No, I'm sorry" She closed her eyes, keeping her head bowed until she closed the door. As much as I fought the fatigue it was creeping up to me, like the snake did eve in the garden of eden. The last thing I remember was her lips on my head as he whispered "Sleep well." The next thing I knew was the sound of someone pounding on the oak door. My bed mate stirred. She sighed gently as he asked me to get off of him. I didn't have to be told twice. She smiled as I bundled my self in the blankets surrounding me, trying to put as many barriers between us as possible, bo matter how flimsy. The pounding resumed. Ice took her gaze. "What?" The door opened. Alexander. His grey eyes never strayed from my captors face. "Sorry to disturb, highness, but there's a situation with the rebels" My head perked up. The people were rebelling? Her tone was sharp. "Then take care of it." I shifted. My curled hair bouncing slightly. It drew Alexander's attention. "My lady" he inclined his head. Then cleared his throat. "Ma'am, they've breached level Dakota. We cant advance any further without triggering the carbon emitters." She huffed "Rebels, they never learn." Se turned to me. " I'm sorry Asha, looks like I wont be spending the day with you" she looked to Akexander. "Give the order to hold. I tire if this rebellion." She kissed my hair. "Sleep. I'll be back the time you awake, hopefully your better by then" she nipped my ear, I let out a whine of discomfort. Se left with a brief kiss to the place he bit. Finally. She's gone.
Alexander looked towards his Queen and friend. "Tam, are you okay. You seem tense" He sighed " you know I hate it when you call me that. Asha's sick" Alexander winced in sympathy " I'm sorry, Taemiala, I wouldn't have disturbed you unless it was necessary. Theres something I didn't say in the room. I dont want to worry asha." Taemiala looked at her friend. "Go on" Alexander inhaled deeply. " they've found searan's whereabouts" Teamiala stumbled at the general's words. "What, how!" "We dont know, all we know is that they found him." Teamiala stopped and fully turned to his friend "Thank you, for not saying anything about this to asha. " hse turned from her subordinate and continued walking. Completely missing the look of surprise on Alexander's face as she walked away.
