Lilia looked at the plain silver ring in Yan's palm. It held a bright luster despite its age. It seemed to be some of the good stuff. She remembered stealing such high value silver in her past life. This ring should be worth a lot.
"What's this for?" Lisa asked.
"It has your spirit beast!" Yan said with confidence.
What the hell? More magical creatures?
Lilia looked to Ezer for help but he looked as if he had mentally checked out for the night. No. He looked as if he was no longer interested.
She felt his pain but this was his problem too.
"What is that?"
Yan looked at Lilia quizzically. "Don't you remember?"
Where was she to learn this?!
Lilia opened her mouth to respond but Ezer began to speak.
"They're beast, usually made of elements. Very powerful beings that the gods created before the Divide. The more powerful ones have died out. All the ones left on this continent and others are too diluted to have any true power. I can't tell what level this one is."
"If you put it on you will wake him up," Yan said as he held the ring to her.
For probably the first time, Lilia felt bad for being a liar. Technically she didn't say a lie but she didn't deny Yan's belief about her. She just didn't know a good way to break the reality to him.
"Honey I do-" Lilia began.
Ezer grabbed the ring and took Lilia's free hand. He slipped the ring on her finger.
Lilia was bewildered. Did he know what she was going to say? Why didn't he make her say it?
The ring flashed white then disappeared. A cloud of white wisp began to condense.
Lilia subconsciously took a step back. She was not expecting anything to happen.
The wisp soon took human form. A beautiful figure took shape. The figure was dressed in the purest white Lilia had ever seen. Long black hair blew by a nonexistent wind. The face had a striking set of black eyes and amorous face. So in the end what this a man or a woman?
The question didn't take long to be answered when an angry voice was heard.
"You stinky brat! You dare to summon me again?! I don't care who your parents are. I will smash you to pieces today!" It was a woman. The face changed to that of a banshee.
Wuuu wuuu
Suddenly Yan was crying again. Lilia was at a loss for words. Her brain had enough stimulation for the day. He first instincts were to stop Yan.
Lilia took several steps away from the raving woman and began to rub Yan's back reassuringly.
"It's ok. Please don't cry. Don't cry. Nothing is going to happen. It's ok." She would be eighty by sunrise if things kept up at this pace.
"Aaa Great Lord!" The woman turned to Ezer. She fell to her knees and threw her head into the ground. "Votra is humbled to stand in your primordial grace once more! Please forgive me for my previous outburst."
Ezer developed a deep frown on his face and his nose flared. He didn't move to acknowledge Votra's praise.
Yan quieted down and looked at Votra angrily before a smile blossomed on his face.
Lilia watched the show of exuberance but wasn't sure what to make of it.
Awkward silence followed.
Votra peaked up from the side at Ezer's face. She saw the look on his face and trembled.
Oh no he must be very angry, She thought. How was she to settle this? What was he angry about now. These damn ancients. They were never pleased with anything.
Unfortunately, Votra didn't know Ezer didn't have the faintest idea who she was or more specifically, which one of her siblings she was. The more he thought of it there more all fifteen hundred siblings became one person. He could not tell make from female and young from old.
"Idiot!" Yan yelled.
Votra instantly forgot she was waiting for Ezer's acknowledgement. That voice always made his blood boil. She looked up and her eyes shot daggers at him.
"He isn't your master. She's right here!" Yan said.
Votra looked up at the young girl who held that brat. She was trying to draw the connection between the master she knew and the walking skeleton that stood before her. The health was not the same. She thought of another approach.
She sensed the faint bond that dimmed over the millennial beginning to pulsate with life. Tears swelled in her eyes.
"Master!"
Votra walked over on her knees to Lilia. Lilia took more steps back trying to avoid her.
"Master please do not run from this loyal servant. I have been faithful to only you. Please master!" Tears were swollen in her eyes.
Was Lilia supposed to know her? Sorry. Nope.
A wave washed over Lilia. It was like a sense of deja vu. She shook her head.
Votra's face had completely changed. There were no more tears, only an earnest look.
"Master please accept me. I will be very beneficial to your growth. I will help to protect you and lead you to all the magic in this world."
What an offer! There only problem was Lilia didn't know if she wanted to take that path and all the implications it brought along. She just jumped out of one fast paced life and jumped into a mind bending one. There was no learning curve.
But then it occurred to her that she was currently trapped in a deal and there were people actively trying to kill her. This would make life easier.
Lilia looked at Ezer. He nodded at her.
"Fine but please get up and don't do something like that again." Lilia's said.
As the words were spoken, Votra jumped up. Her fabric didn't have a speck of dirt marring its brightness. A beautiful smile blossomed on her face.
"So what would master like to start with? Pill refining? Potion concoction? Rune building? Qi collecting?"
Lilia shook her head. She didn't know what most of those things were.
"How about resting?" Lilia said.
