Chapter 7 - Chapter 7. Sirens (Your P.O.V)

I'm walking around and see the TV. The remote sits on the arm and so, I flick it onto the news and take a seat on the soft sofa. The president was speaking over what sounded like screams and honking cars. "Behind me you will see that down town N.Y has been devastated by fires, gunschots, and even wild bears and wolves. We belive some one of high intelligence is behind this. We recommend all citizens stay home and lay low for this may get worse over the next few days." He was still talking but I had stoped listening at this point. I hope Justice is okay... I thought, looking around. The room was quiet big and the bed was well made with lots of pillows and a large fur blanket.

This can't get any worse... I thought. I should have stayed at home, never went for that job interview, and never trusted Justice!... I felt my eyes well up with tears as I thought these things. I stood up to go to the bathroom. My feet hit the floor and there was a tall mirror in the bathroom, that was framed with golden flowers and silver leaves. I looked into the reflection and saw me. I pouted and walked away. I wish my mother was still around to tell I was beautiful...

Just as I walked out of the bathroom, I heard the sliding of the book shelf, and jumped. I panicked and hid behind the kitchen island. The faint noise of the bookshelf sliding back into place could be heard, and the footsteps echoing down the hall before the door. The door opened and closed. "Kendra?" Rang Justices voice from the silence. I peered over the counter and stood up. He had cuts on his arms, legs, chest, and face. I ran and jumped into his arms, shoving my face into his chest. He zmelt strongly of blood and dirt. I hoped out of his arms and rushed him to the bathroom without saying a word.

I pulled his shirt over his head and threw it on the floor. Grabbing towels, I saw him taking his pans off. Soaking the towels in warm water, and bringing a bowl with water, I walked back and sat on the floor to start washing his cuts. I lightly touched one of his cuts and he winced but let me continue cleaning his wounds. "Where were you?" I whispered. Looking up at him with sad eyes. He looked down and lightly planted a kiss on my head. "Protecting you." He said in a quiet, relaxed voice. I looked down and finished washing the cuts on his legs. "Sit on the counter Justice." I said standing, avoiding his eyes. He stood and sat on the counter, placing his hands by his sides.

As I washed his one arm, his other would play with my hair, trace my sides, touch my face, or hold my waist. I love this man so much, but he almost got himself killed trying to protect me... I'm not that special. I cleaned his last cut on his arms, and washed the cloth. I wrang the towel out, and cleaned the blood from his face. I stared into his eyes, and gave him a kiss on the cheek before walking away to put the towels in the wash. Placing the bucket of bloody water into the sink, and cleaning the towels, I heard Justice looking for clothes in the closet.

Shortly after, loud sirens were blaring every where and I had no clue what to do. "Kendra! come here, quick!" I ran to Justice and grabbed his out reached hand. He pulled me to his chest, and we hid in the surprisingly large closet. The sirens continued and I could hear my heart beating so loud in my ears. I bet Justice heard it too, because he placed his hand on my cheek, and kissed me softly. The sirens stoped so suddenly, I jumped. And at that same instance the lights went out.
