Chen Xu woke up when it was almost dark outside, his headache had eased a bit, but his mouth was incredibly dry. He got up to drink some water and just as he sat up, he saw a cup placed on the bedside cabinet with a note underneath.
He took out the note, and with the little light seeping in from the window, began to read, "This is plum water prepared by Grandma; she says it can relieve a hangover, remember to drink it when you wake up."
A smile broke out across his face, he put the note in his pocket, picked up the cup which was still warm, and gulped it down. He immediately felt much better.
After putting the cup back in its place, he got up, pulled open the door, and went out.
There were no lights on outside, nor were there any people. He went downstairs and there was also no one in the living room, just a small nightlight shining.
