Chapter 29 - 029 Ugh, scumbag!

```
Luo Xiyun stood in front of the balcony, tears streaming down her face as she gazed at the golden sun.
After standing dazed for a few minutes, she remembered to tell Chen Xu the good news, rushed back to the room, and shook Chen Xu awake, saying excitedly, "Wake up, the snow has stopped, the sun is out, quick—Chen Xu, what's wrong?"
She shook him a few times before realizing something was wrong with Chen Xu. His face was pale, and his eyes were lifeless, as if he were seriously ill, which shocked her.
"Maybe I caught a chill." Chen Xu forced a smile.
Luo Xiyun reached out to touch his forehead and said, "I'll go get some medicine."
Chen Xu watched her rummage through the cabinet, feeling a heaviness in his heart. He suspected this might not be an illness. His body felt weak, but it didn't feel like the usual discomfort of a cold or fever, nor did he feel any specific pain.
After a short while, Luo Xiyun finally found the medicine box, poured a glass of water, found some cold medicine, and fed it to him.
"You rest well, I'll go make some porridge." After speaking, she helped Chen Xu tuck in the quilt and left the room, quietly closing the door.
Chen Xu lay there for a while, his eyelids grew heavier and soon he closed his eyes.
...
Chen Xu opened his eyes again to see Luo Xiyun resting her head by the bedside, just like the last time when he was injured and unconscious.
With some effort, he lowered his head and noticed his clothes had been changed, feeling a weight in his heart.
"You're awake."
At this moment, Luo Xiyun woke up, and said joyfully.
Chen Xu noticed the bloodshot in her eyes and asked, "How long did I sleep?"
"Not long." A gentle smile appeared on her face, and she diverted the topic, "I made some porridge, have a little." As she spoke, she poured a bowl of porridge from a thermos beside her.
Chen Xu cooperated, forcing himself to eat a bowl while chatting with her for a while before his eyelids grew heavy again, and he soon lost consciousness.
...
Upon waking the second time, Luo Xiyun was not in the room. This time, he had changed into another set of clothes. He couldn't help but sigh, laboriously turning his head to look at the perpetual electronic clock on the bedside table.
Two days had passed since he first fainted. In other words, he woke up only every other day.
"Shit."
After understanding, he couldn't help but curse loudly.
About ten minutes later, he lost consciousness again.
...
The third time he woke, Luo Xiyun was lying beside him.
The moment he moved, she noticed, raising her head to look at him.
The orange table lamp by the bedside was on; she liked to have this lamp on because its light was soft, creating a great atmosphere.
Today, she wore different makeup: those bright red lips highlighted her icy beauty.
She moved to his ear and whispered, "Everything's ready, just waiting for you..."
Chen Xu said with difficulty, "Get up, let's talk for a bit, alright?"
Suddenly, Luo Xiyun grabbed him by the collar, angrily said, "At this moment you're saying you can't? What kind of man are you? You pervert, get up, get up for me..."
Chen Xu let her vent, feeling a pang of bitterness in his heart.
Luo Xiyun was typically a reserved person, and he had never seen her so emotionally agitated; clearly, his collapse over the past few days had brought her to the brink of breaking down.
After a little while, Chen Xu's eyelids began to grow heavy again, knowing there wasn't much time left, he said hoarsely, "I'm sorry." Following this, his eyelids became progressively heavier, and before he was engulfed in complete darkness, he vaguely heard the sound of crying.
...
The last day of the dream.
Chen Xu woke for the last time, the bright light blinded his eyes, making it hard to open them.
"You're awake." Luo Xiyun's voice came from beside him; this time, her voice sounded very calm.
Soon, his eyes adjusted to the surrounding light and he could see the scene before him clearly—a brilliant blue sky like a giant blue dome, with the snow-white horizon and a golden sun slowly rising, coating the entire icy world with a layer of golden light.
He had never seen such a magnificent view, feeling somewhat dazzled.
At this moment, he was sitting in a wheelchair, the buildings below seemed familiar, and soon, he knew where he was. This was at the top of the mountain where the villa was located; the developers had built a viewing pavilion here for people to enjoy the view.
Unexpectedly, Luo Xiyun had brought him here.
"The snow has stopped." Looking at the scenery in front of him, his heart brightened.
"Stopped four days ago."
Luo Xiyun pushed him to the railing, "For the past few days, the temperature has been rising; yesterday at noon, it was almost zero degrees. I believe it won't be long before the temperature rises above zero."
As she spoke, she squatted beside him, continuing, "Once the snow melts, I'm planning to drive north to find other survivors. I believe there must be others on Earth who survived this disaster."
Chen Xu listened to her say "I" instead of "we." Whether she was deliberately provoking him or for some other reason, it no longer mattered to him.
Because he was about to leave.
In just a few minutes, he would have spent exactly one hundred and eighty days in this dream. Once the time was up, the dream would end.
Perhaps it was the days of sleep that had made his mind exceptionally clear. Since entering the dream, he had never been so unmistakably aware that everything he experienced over these six months was just a dream.
Then, he once again felt his eyelids grow heavy; he knew that when he closed his eyes, the dream would end.
At this moment, a question surged through his heart, an urgent desire to know the answer.
He turned his head and asked, "Luo Xiyun, did you ever love me?"
Luo Xiyun looked into his eyes, seeming to realize something, biting her lower lip, "No, I never loved you. Why would I love a self-righteous, selfish, and self-centered man like you?"
As she spoke, her tears fell like pearls from a broken string, continuously streaming down.
Chen Xu's eyes were already completely closed, his neck limp as it tilted to the side.
She reached with trembling hands to feel his carotid artery, and a moment later, her face turned pale.
"What's so great about you? When I'm upset, you don't say sweet words to comfort me. You don't save the good food for me, and when I criticize you for being messy, you… snap back. When you sleep… you even snore… wailing—"
As she spoke, she lay over Chen Xu's legs, already sobbing uncontrollably.
After a while, her sobs gradually subsided. She stood up, pulled Chen Xu up from the chair, and used some straps to tie his face firmly against her chest.
Supporting herself on the wheelchair, she climbed over the railing. Looking at his unremarkable face, she murmured, "How could you leave me alone like this? You haven't confessed to me, proposed to me, or put a ring on my finger… yet you want me to love you? You scumbag."
After saying that, she closed her eyes and fell forward. Plunged off the cliff.
