Jack had slowly began to walk towards the vegetation and trees which shielded the rest of the island from the sandy border. The water in the auto-purifying canteen swished about, tucked into his belt, as he advanced.
He was hardly paying attention to the overhead mini-map. It was mainly covered in a fog, but it at least showed the dimensions of the island itself, and the satellite islands nearby.
Relatively relaxed, he let out a sigh of relief as he could feel the sun on his back.
"Character Information...?" He'd say with an inquiring tone, immediately causing another screen to open up. It was similar to the inventory in the sense that it had the texture of a mahogany surface. He saw an entire third dimensional layout of his appearance. Even saw equipment slots in which his clothes and accessories would be placed in.
It was definitely interesting seeing all of which was on him, but what caught his eyes was the information which spoke out to him, telling him he was living a game.

The one thing he wasn't expecting was the limitations on the population, or even the islands
The one thing he wasn't expecting was the limitations on the population, or even the islands. Apparently gaining levels was something that needed to be done to simply expand! He alone didn't have the proper skills to build a civilization on his own.
Jack had a lack of skills pertaining to carpentry, or at least experience. If anything he could make his own little hut, but it would take him a dozen hours or even days to complete something an expert could do in a matter of a few hours.
By now he had walked absently into the forest for a mere few minutes and stopped in his tracks. He could smell the fresh fruit hanging above his head, none of which he could recognize. Though one of them looked similar to a peach and another a star fruit. The colors were strange and reminded him of easter eggs.
Despite his fascination in what he was seeing, he couldn't help but frown. The general knowledge and trivia of the old world, was hardly enough to get him by here. Were those fruits up there even edible, were they poisonous? Jack had no idea and he didn't want to eat something he couldn't identify.
"Spirit King?" His eyes drifted to the side as he spoke to himself.
[ Yes, MiLeage? ]
Jack pursed his lips slightly as this voice addressed him differently from last time. However he didn't question it. "Are those fruits up there poisonous?"
He stared at the couple trees nearest to him, the strangely colored fruits dangling overhead.
[ Use your Scan Skill in order to learn more about your surroundings. ]
Raising a brow when the system had advised him to use his "Scan Skill" to learn about his surroundings. He could only nod a few times before pursing his lips and opening the skill screen up to view what he had. Much like the screens before, this one had a mahogany background and various items to choose from. All the skills present were separated from active and passive with a little switch beside them or an activation button with a cooldown noted beside it.
The scan skill however was a passive trait that could be turned on, allowing it to passively scan anything or anyone and inform him of its particulars.
Flicking the scan skill on, he narrowed his sights on one of the fruits, the Star Fruit. It was a sky blue by the stem divided by a soft yellow line in the center with a foam green colored lower half.
[ Citron Star, Calories: 50, Protein: 1 gram, Water: 85%. Healing Factor. ]
Turning his eyes over to the next fruit, he took in the peach-like structure with a candy pink and pastel blue skin.
[ Zunce, Calories: 59, Protein: 2.3 grams, Water: 80%. Illness resistance. ]
"Huh," the more he looked at them, the more they were like the ones from the old world he knew. The Zunce though had the most similarities to the peach pertaining to the calories and protein, though it had almost twice as much protein.
Crossing his arms, he looked back towards the ocean, pursing his lips slightly. "What exactly does the population screen do?" He asked aloud, obviously curious of the function it served.
[ My King, The Population Function allows you to wash more people up onto your shores to join your Island Nation. ]
"Wash more people up onto my shore? How does that work? You wrecking ships on my behalf?" He tried making sense of it, but found himself chuckling at his assumption. Was that sadistic of him? To laugh at the idea of his soon to be growing population literally being stranded on the Island for him.
[ Each new member of your Island will have a unique backstory pertaining to their arrival, ranging from shipwrecks, falling overboard to escaping a ship of sorts. They will wash ashore closest to your relevant location ]
Staring forward as he thought that over, he nodded to himself. So in a sense, it was a manipulation of events? Opening the population screen, he glanced over the different pieces of information and functions that were available.
There wasn't much in the way of customization other than multiple portraits of probable people to join his colony. It had a list of details under each picture, ranging from their names to their specializations and age.
The idea of having an entire colony of women sounded appealing at first, until he thought about all the things that could go down with that. The drama, the intermingling, the misunderstandings. He was a one person relationship kinda guy, a harem to him didn't feel practical as he never experienced one before.

Swiping to the side, he continued to look over the choices. Emilia Watson who is Nineteen, Alyssa Knight who is Twenty Nine and Tian Ren who is Twenty Four.
They all seem attractive to him, each one of them had a different speciality as well. He placed a thoughtful hand on his chin and squinted his eyes. Tian Ren was a botanist, in that case she knew plants and how to take care of them. Emilia was a Navigator, she knew maps and probably working a ship or even an aeroplane. Then there was Alyssa Knight, an engineer who could design things, but he had no idea what grade Engineer she was. Alyssa was also the oldest out of the female choices firstly visible to him.
Looking over the men, Jerico White who was forty five, was one of the most promising. He was a survivalist, in which case, he had the best chances of helping him survive on the island as it was.
Next was Allen Wrench a Shipwright, the name itself made him chuckle and shake his head. "You're kidding me, right? Well.. At least I know what I'll need him for later on."
Sudden silence was brought upon him when he read the next name, "Merlin Grey? As in Merlin the Grey?" Pursing his lips, seeing his profession as an Alchemist. "Hm..."
