The whole country is currently in shock right now. The lanterns, the decorations and the people's smiles were drowned in misery, as they were dreadful of their future which seemed unknown and bleak.
The little children felt their parents worry and stared at their parents with tears in their eyes.
"Mom, are we gonna die?"
The mother listening to her crying daughter brought her closer to her chest while wiping her daughters face.
"No dear, we're going to be alright." While looking down, avoiding her naive daughter's eyes.
Everyone knew the legend. Children as small as three, were taught the story of the Kingdom of Treyina. Centuries ago, the place was filled with humans who used their powers from their own selfish desires. This led to countless destructions of villages and even cities, where murder, robbery and thievery was a normal way to survive. In summary, it was that the strong eats the weak
Every generation a prince or a princess is born with a lock of silver hair or throned by the dragon statue has special powers which come unlimited to them. The ones who were born with a lock of silver hair were seen to be stronger as they proved themselves respectful figures in history. There was never a time where the ruler had no identity where the King himself has no clue of.
It's believed that to save the innocent people God sent down powers that didn't need replenishment to a commoner who was righteous in every way. The commoner turned out to have different blood than anyone else, called royal blood with silver coloured hair. After a massive civil war, the rightful king took over the throne as the most beloved from God, King Leon of Treyina.
It is said that he made a limited power house and spread it to nobles who were honest and just to help with the war.
From then on, the powers were passed on from generation to generation.
Commoners were also allowed to have powers but they weren't passed on and they had conditions. One of them was to be selfless and humble.
When commoners get magic they quickly rise up to power to help the kingdom to prosper.
But now the situation is different.
Dread, worries and mistrust filled in the commoners head. While the nobles were thinking about the consequences an unknown King might bring.
The parade that could be seen outside my window has been left by all the people. The guards of the palace were in search of me or specifically the future ruler. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It's funny, that the King took 18 years to find that he had an illegitimate child and my mother only needed 5 to go completely crazy in love.
Love is honestly a funny thing, it gives you unrealistic expectations of someone, and when they don't meet them, you start giving excuses to your heart saying why. Ultimately lowering your standards that you originally started with. Then, you simply lose your mind.
*CRASH*
The carriages were thrown across by the guards, where red decorations were thrown on the street. The guards slapped the ragged man who was selling those decorations across his face, pushing him on the ground.
"Have you seen anyone suspicious?" The leader of the guards asked.
The man swung his head left and right, his whole body trembling in fear as if there was a group of monsters instead of people covered in golden armour representing the royal family.
The frightened man slowly backed away, blurring all his surroundings, like an agitated fay that just stared at his incoming predators.
I started stepping down the grey stairs which were made of stone, in front of the street where the one sided fight was occuring. While wearing a black cloth that covered my face except for my eyes which shone like honey in front of the sun. A black shawl was wrapped around me that had red stripes which covered upto my stomach, the rest was covered by my black, long-sleeved shirt. My turban covered my hair with only a few strands left at the front, but one part of it was slowly undone as it fell on the front side twisted like a braid.
My back was straight as I reached the last step with my trusty sword beside me as my aid, I dared to look at the scene.
I slightly hesitated, thinking about all the things that could go wrong once I'm outside of my little world. Stepping my right side foot forward outside of the already open gate, taking a deep breath filling my lungs with air as I realized that there were more things that could go right. Confidence slowly filled me up as I let the soft breeze go through me.
The weaker looking guard seemed angrier and stepped forward to kick and punch the man but before he could do, I swung my sword, chopping his hand off, spilling filthy blood on his shoes. The guard's eyes widened as he screamed in pain while crashing to the ground.
"Impudent brat!" The head guard was about to slice my head while I turned around looking at the guard directly in the eyes.
"Sil-sil-silver lock!" The guard looked shocked as he took some steps back, the grip on the sword loosen as it fell on the ground.
"Impudent?" I looked at the rest of the guards waiting for an answer.
"Guards that were supposed to protect the innocent and punish the guilty are now so corrupted, it really opened my eyes." I continued, not realizing that a lazy glint was sent my way.
