Fang Bin looked up in shock, "It was you!"
Zhou Ling smirked, her eyes gleaming with malice. "Of course, it was me. Did you really think you could cross me without consequences?" Her voice was a whisper, but the venom in her words was palpable.
Fang Bin's mind raced. She had suspected Zhou Ling, but hearing her confess so brazenly was another matter. "Why are you doing this, Zhou Ling? What do you have to gain from burning our house down?"
Zhou Ling leaned in closer, her breath hot against Fang Bin's ear. "Let's just say there are things you don't understand. This is just the beginning. If you keep your mouth shut, nothing else will happen. But if you talk... well, you know what I'm capable of now."
Fang Bin's heart pounded in her chest. She wanted to scream, to expose Zhou Ling for the monster she was, but she knew that doing so could put her and Fang Xin in even greater danger. "You're sick," she spat, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and anger.
