PERFECT ACTION SEQUENCE
The only scene that Anna had to film today was the fight scene between her and Zhan Yu. This was the scene where General Rong and General Ming Yu would exchange sword moves for the first time.
Although the two armies had been engaged in war before, the two generals had never met eye to eye.
In the book, this was also the scene where General Ming Yu had fallen in love with General Rong and later called off the war between the two armies.
He had been entranced by the other's powerful moves but in his eyes, he felt as if he was being seduced rather than feeling fear. It was no doubt that even his many years of experience in the army and combat could not defeat a single Rong Gu.
He had initially held deep hatred due to the fact that it was a woman who defeated him but seeing the woman with his own eyes, he could not help but exclaim and then thoughts began to form in his head.
It was a known fact that General Rong was parentless. No one knew if her parents had died or if they had abandoned her in the middle of nowhere. Leaving that young of a child to fend for herself was already quite pitiful.
General Rong grew up alone and had to fight against many enemies and challenges in order to hold the position she had now.
It was said that the general was ruthless but towards her army, she was kind, the exact opposite of what people described her to be. This was because her soldiers were the only people who treated her with respect.
In General Ming Yu's eyes, the female general before him was only pretending to be strong before others but deep down, there was something missing and he thought that thing she was missing was love.
Zhan Yu stood and watched the general who was inching closer and closer to him. Her eyes were vicious but he looked at her with a mixture of pity, fear, and a little infatuation. All of these three emotions were shown clearly in Zhan Yu's eyes.
General Rong finally moved. Her lithe body carried with it the power of the wind while her sword was pointed directly toward General Ming Yu.
Her ferociousness caught him off guard. He took two steps back and unsheathed his sword which was by his waist.
The two of them fought just like this but from the action, it was quite evident that Ming Yu was defending rather than attacking.
General Rong also noticed this which made her very angry. She shouted while the speed of her sword increased, "Are you looking down on me?"
Her words were followed by even more attacks which prompted Ming Yu to leave his defensive state and start attacking as well.
It could be said that Zhan Yu's sword skills were excellent. The two of them fought so beautifully that everyone who watched became entranced.
General Ming Yu was dressed in black while General Rong was in red. The two looked like figures from a painting.
The sound of swords echoed loudly like music.
General Ming was slowly being defeated. He wanted to counter but the slim edge of a sword was suddenly placed on his neck. The cold metallic blade got dangerously close to his neck arteries but before his fear reached its maximum, the sword was suddenly thrown aside.
General Rong's voice followed, "Ming Yu, you have been defeated by a woman once again,"
Once she said that she skipped away and in a few steps, she was out of sight. General Ming Yu looked towards the direction she had disappeared while lost in thought.
After a while, he placed his right hand on his chest to feel the beating of his heart. After a while, he sighed and went over to help his wounded soldiers.
"CUT! EXCELLENT" Director Zheng's voice boomed loudly.
Throughout the scene, everyone was holding their breaths and now that it was over, the entire set became calm but they could still feel the beating of their chests.
Anna came from the corner she disappeared in while jogging. Her face was sweaty and her breath hitched. The scene just now was like working out. Her energy was drained.
Feng Anxi walked over to her and handed her a towel to wipe her face.
"Thank you," she said while wiping the sweat off her face.
Feng Anxi looked at her and then praised, "Good job."
This was a sincere compliment but Anna looked at him as if she was seeing a ghost, "What is wrong with you today?" she asked while lifting her hand to feel the other's temperature.
Once she noticed everything was fine, "You don't have a fever so why are you saying things you've never said?"
Feng Anxi pushed away her hand while complaining, "What is wrong with what I have just said?"
He gathered his courage to praise the other but she did not even thank him, what a heartless woman!
The two were interrupted by Director Zheng, "Anna, good job today. You have finished the scene early so you can go home early today," he then turned to Feng Anxi, "You should get ready, your scene will start soon,"
Feng Anxi nodded and then left while telling Anna,
"Let us meet tonight after I am done with my scenes,"
Anna simply nodded and then went off to change.
