THE LOVER WHO GOT AWAY
General Rong took a stroll in the market after coming from the border. His blue robes swayed with the wind as he moved adeptly in the crowd. There were many vendors on the streets selling different things. One lady vendor, in particular, was selling flowers, when she saw him; she blushed deeply and then tossed a flower over.
"Sire, you are very handsome" her blush had completely covered her ears. General Rong smiled and threw a 'thank you'
Women from the capital were much more straightforward than those from the villages. General Rong busied himself with buying this and that and all those who saw him were left in awe.
Director Zheng looked at the girl walk through the camera lens and suddenly exclaimed. Even her walk was good; her smile was perfect and her mannerisms even better. It was as if she was meant to be in front of the camera. He clapped his hands in excitement even forgetting to say 'cut'
The camera operators continued on, they too enjoying the young girls performance.
General Rong sat in one of the straws at the side. His eyes surveyed everything that was going on. A child was crying at the side and was at the moment being patted at the back by his mother. He stared at the scene with slight envy.
General Rong never knew who her parents were so this scene evoked strange feelings from within her.
Director Zheng clapped in excitement then yelled, "Perfect"
The camera stopped rolling and Anna got out of character. In all honesty she was quite nervous. This was her first filming role after all. She had done theatre which was quite different from film. She thought her nerves would get the better of her but when she saw the director smiling, she knew she had nailed it.
The next scene would be between her and Lillian. This was the perfect opportunity for her to start extracting her revenge.
She had seen the other act multiple times and although it could be said that she was good, Anna felt that her acting lacked skill and this was the loophole that she was going to use.
Just thinking about it made her giddy with excitement and a sly smile blossomed at the corner of her lips.
"You are not thinking about something bad are you?" A voice suddenly fleeted by scaring her shitless, it was Feng Anxi.
"Are you trying to scare me to death?" Anna Lee reproached. Feng Anxi had indeed showed up out of nowhere like a ghost. He was dressed quite flamboyantly in red top and shorts. Anna felt as if her eyes were being blinded by the others outfit.
She exaggeratedly moved back.
Feng Anxi followed her line of sight and saw Lillian Ye on the other side currently surrounded by four assistants. One was holding water another was holding an umbrella. The other two just stood at the side. Feng Anxi scoffed.
"You are not thinking what I think you are right?" he knew that look; he had succumbed to it many times.
After the conference, he had already understood what was happening.
"All debts must after all be repaid and by the way how do you know what I am thinking?" Anna asked
"Do you know how you look right now?" Feng Anxi answered with another question.
"How"
"Like a witch who is about to cast a spell." Feng Anxi laughed while Lee Anna scoffed.
"I am about to be the lover that got away, should I not leave something to be remembered by?"
Feng Anxi laughed. This little devil was becoming more and more her true self rather than that angelic persona she put on in front of others.
"Feng Anxi, tell me, should I do it or should I not do it?" Lee Anna asked after the other had calmed down.
Feng Anxi looked at Lillian who he saw as an eyesore
"100% do it"
