The next day, Yuki became the new emperor and all consorts from the previous harem were for some reason, passed away, all of them.
"Greetings to your majesty," Ku speaks.
"Rise." Yuki replies "Ku, I don't like this, I thought father was going to pick Yi for the emperor and not me."
"Well, whatever his majesty wishes, has come true, though the problem is you'll have to deal with Grand empress dowager trying to control you and have you pick the empress she wants." Ku explained "But that's my opinion, after all."
"Her highness, Grand empress dowager has arrived!" Shouted a servant.
"Greetings to royal grandmother," Yuki speaks.
"Greetings to the grand empress dowager," Ku replied.
"Rise." She says.
"Thank you, Grand empress dowager," Ku says.
Yuki stood up, as he noticed Ku having his head down.
"Ku? Are you alright?" Yuki asks.
"I'm alright, Your majesty," Ku replies.
'I didn't think it would be so soon, I can't just pass out in front of her highness, she'll think I'm just trying to use him, even when she, herself is trying to use him.'
Ku walks over to the table to grab a tea and he slowly but steadily gets the tea over to the table and serves it. Then passes out, while Yuki catches him.
"Ku? Ku! Hey!"
"Hehehe, I'm fine. Your majesty." Ku says "Sorry to trouble you."
Ku tries to stand up but doesn't work and falls again.
"It seems this servant has something wrong with him, have the physician check on him." She speaks.
"Thank you, Your Highness." Ku softly speaks.
The physician arrived and found, "Your majesty, Your highness, this servant is heavily poisoned, by two separate doses, how that servant is alive, this one doesn't know."
"I see, have this investigated, on who would attempt on my life, in the palace." Yuki replies "You May leave."
"Thank you, Your majesty." He replied.
As he left, Ku laid down, as Yuki sighed, 'Ku saves my life again, without thinking of his own life. I really need to be more careful next time.'
"Does Yu-Yu need a hug?" Ku asks.
"Ku, you can't speak like that when her highness is around—"
"Her highness left a few minutes ago, You didn't notice." Ku replied "I'm fine really, besides not like that can kill me, at best I'll have to act like I'm weakened, to trick them and lure them in a bam, trap set."
Ku smiles, "At least is what I think that's the best option."
"Ku, You shouldn't have to worry about that kind of stuff, just rest for now, Alright? Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone." Yuki Spoke.
"You wish, Your majesty," Ku replies.
Yuki left the room, A servant stood by his side.
"Put the decree, Ku will no longer be a servant he will be my personal guard, any who dare question will have their heads on the spikes."
"Yes, Your majesty." The servant replied.
The servant left as Yuki went to his courtroom, "His majesty, The emperor arrives!"
"Greetings to your majesty!" They shouted.
"Rise." Yuki replies "Tell me my dear minsters what is it that caused you all to request this court meeting?"
"Your majesty, You're a recent decree, concerns us. We don't know about this child, or if he will bring trouble or not?" Minster A Spoke.
"I've gotten his background checked, He's Alright. Besides he was a guess allowed by the late emperor." Yuki replies "So it's alright, anything else?"
"Your majesty, We were wondering when you were going to pick an empress?" The prime minster Spoke.
"When it is needed it shall happen till then, Royal empress shall manage as did before." Yuki replies "If nothing else dismissed all of you."
They left, as Yuki went to check on Ku, sitting there sipping tea, doing the normal.
"How was the court? Did you think it went as good as you assumed it would be? Any likely traitors I shall deal with?" Ku Asked.
"Ku, Just rest, You can't go off worrying about your job when you have to recover first. I have to tell you tomorrow that Ash will be crowned as a consort so please respect her more than you already do." Yuki replies.
"It should be princess consort, your majesty. It's alright, I don't mind. I've already figured out who targeting you, anyways." Ku mutters.
"And Who's that?" Yuki asks.
