Chapter 6 - Elemental Powers and Sibling Rivalry - Chapter 2 [ Part 1 ]

Fyuuh...

A sigh of relief escapes. Currently, Zan is in his usual training spot.

An open field in the middle of the forest where he usually trains with Glen.

"97... 98... 99... 100..."

Zan counts his push-ups, sweat dripping onto the ground. He then stands up, wiping his forehead.

"Now, I'll do one hundred sit-ups."

Zan moves into a sit-up position and starts his exercise. He trains diligently, continuously performing sit-ups.

Tak... tak... tak...

Footsteps are heard. Someone is approaching from behind Zan.

"Hey, Zan! You arrived earlier than me, huh?"

With his footsteps accompanying the greeting, Glen addresses Zan with a disappointed expression. It seems he intended to come even earlier than Zan.

Zan, who is in the middle of doing sit-ups, turns his head to look back and stands up for a moment. After stretching his arms, he says, "You're a bit late today, Glen."

"It seems not. You're the one who came too early."

"Maybe you're right; I woke up too early."

They engage in somewhat trivial conversation, with some jokes, making the forest atmosphere livelier.

"Oh, by the way! How about you try your technique, Zan?"

Suddenly, Glen changes the topic of their conversation to a more serious one, looking at his friend with a spirited expression.

"Ah! You mean my lightning strike technique."

"Yes, try to attack that tree trunk!"

Glen points to a dead tree trunk they typically use as a target.

Set...

"Alright, I'll get ready."

Zan begins to summon small electric flows around his right hand. He directs his hand towards the tree trunk.

Szztt...

With the sound of a small electric flow, Zan emits a noise.

Rantaror!

A medium-speed electrical current flows through the air towards the target tree trunk.

Dooaar...

A small explosion accompanied by sparks makes the tree trunk turn black.

"Hah."

"My elemental power is limited to this."

Zan seems disappointed with the rather unsatisfactory outcome of his power.

"Well, maybe you just need to focus more, Zan."

Glen's advice comes out without any clear reason, perhaps it's a spontaneous response after seeing his friend looking downcast.

Zan looks at his hand, and his face brightens after hearing the advice from his friend. It appears he's about to say something.

"Alright, I'll be more focused now."

Zan becomes more enthusiastic, his eyes look fiery. He tightly clenches his fists, stares at the tree trunk intently, and closes his eyes.

"Now, let my power come forth."

Like a mantra, although it's just an inner voice to motivate himself.

He points his right hand towards the tree trunk. His eyes open again, his face turns more serious, and his gaze is intently locked on the tree trunk as if it's his opponent. Zan emits an aura that seems slightly intimidating.

Szzzt... szzzt...

Several electric flows appear from his hand, larger than before, resembling lightning. The lightning flows radiate a blue-yellowish glow, illuminating the forest area. Carefully, Zan releases the lightning flows.

Rantaror!

Szzzzztt...

The larger electrical flows are directed towards the tree trunk. But this time, it's not just one; there are three flows heading straight for the target.

Dooorr...

A much louder explosion is heard, and it seems the tree trunk is shattered and scorched by Zan's lightning element.

"Hah."

Glen is surprised by his friend's drastically increased power in a short time. Was the advice he gave so effective? Or is this just a strange coincidence? Or maybe his friend indeed has hidden power. Several questions arise in Glen's mind, and his expression shows a mix of astonishment and admiration.

"Great job, Zan! You've harnessed impressive power."

Glen is still in awe as he praises his friend's newfound strength.

"I didn't expect I could do this."

Zan himself seems amazed by the power he has just discovered. Until now, his technique was limited to "Rantaror," which emitted an electric current. However, this time, he successfully released three electrical currents simultaneously.

"Rantaror Expert, that's the name for my new technique!"

Zan is delighted with this achievement, immediately giving a name to the new technique he has discovered.

"That's quite a good name for your technique, Zan."

"Yes, now try your punching technique, Glen!"

Zan says, looking at his friend.

"Hehe! Alright, I'll show you my punch."

Glen is eager to showcase his abilities to Zan. He releases flames in his hands and clenches them tightly, getting ready to strike.

"Glen, just punch the ground in front of you."

"Hahaha! Okay."

Glen laughs a little.

"Now is the time."

Meteor punch!

Glen thrusts his hand downward at an

incredible speed, making it challenging to follow his punch.

Duarr...

The ground in front of him instantly forms a hole, with some dirt particles scattered in various directions, and many cracks created due to Glen's punch. In the hole, the ground appears scorched, as if it had just been struck by a falling meteor. Yes, that's probably why this technique is named "Meteor punch."

"I had a feeling that your power is indeed great," Zan thinks as he observes the impressive effects of Glen's attack.

"Hohoho! How was my punching power, Zan? Impressive, right?"

Glen cheerfully asks with a somewhat proud tone.

"Yes, yes! You are indeed great!"

Zan is slightly annoyed by his friend's attitude.

"Hahaha! No need to be so upset, Zan."

"Anyway, let's continue our training!"

They proceed with their training until noon.
