The little grey blob in the sky drew closer, and closer, until Alex could finally see it clearly. And it only seems to raise more questions than answers.
Alex squinted his eyes, unsure of whatever he is seeing, is correct or not. "Are those things... Octopuses?" He asked no one in particular.
He observed the Cthulu like abomination from a distance. There are hundreds of them, or maybe even thousands, too much to even count. There is no end to them.
As they stopped abruptly in midair and floated about a hundred and fifty feet off the ground. Alex can see them almost clearly because he is on the second-floor staircase of the 3 story school building.
The thing had a near transparent body, yet the inside is bioluminescence, giving off a faint lavender light, much like a lava lamp. As it possesses a somewhat metallic white humanoid skull for a head, that resembles a Hollow from to a certain extent. It has several tentacles like appendages moving beneath its skull-like head.
Alex shifted his attention from the octopus-like creature for a sec, and look outside the window, down at the ground floor D-section, where the English department is.
There were three people on the D-section corridors. One was a student who was wearing a hoodie underneath his blazer, who a minute ago was on his phone, listening to music, with headphones attached to his ears, but he too soon caught onto the floating phenomenon, as he soon opens his jaw wide in total disbelief.
An English Teacher who is in the corridor, but is busy talking to a member of staff in the English Department.
The student with a hoodie underneath his blazer was about to shout at the English Teacher to get his attention when one of the octopus-like creatures lunges forwards. Suddenly, it shoots out its numerous tentacles, wrapping itself around the English Teacher's head.
The members of staff from the English Department jerked back, taking a couple of steps backwards in surprise, because of the suddenness of the attack.
Once the octopus-like creature attaches itself onto the English Teacher's head, the humanoid-like skull head then zoomed in, and engulf the entirety of his head. With the metallic white humanoid-like skull head, attaches to the English Teacher's face, much like a mask.
You could see the terrified look on the English Teacher's face through the eye hole of the octopuses creature.
The member of staff from the English Department screamed as he tried to get the octopus-like creature off the head of the English Teacher, by whacking it on the head with a fold of paper and books, till no avail.
The student with the hoodie underneath his blazer started running but was immediately caught, as other octopus-like creatures start firing their tentacles, grabbing the other two.
In disbelief over the ordeal, Alex began to retreat a few steps backwards, but he was caught off guard, as the octopus-like creature broke through the glass window, and it's set of tentacles latches onto the back of his neck. With the metallic white humanoid-like skull attaches to his face like all the others.
Alex started screaming, as he felt pain spread throughout his whole body, almost like being pricked by a thousand needles.
He instinctively knew that this alien-like creature is another intelligent life form, as it was reading through his thoughts and memories; memories of his entire life flashes right before his very eyes, fast forwards, in the first-person view, from an infant till now. His 16 years old self.
Yet there are some words being repeated withinside his brain, but he seems to not understand it. Everything seems to be becoming much blurrier.
Alex also notices that the other people who were attacked, are also thrashing on the floor, their body convulsing wildly, just like him. He also saw almost in the passing that octopus-like creature that is attached to him is of a different colour than the rest, what it means, he does not know, or even care about at this very moment.
Then the words that were being repeated withinside his head start to begin to take shape, and he immediately then understood its meaning.
The words in his brain are saying, "Submit... submit... submit to the collective hive mind... or die a painful death... submit or die..."
It continues to go on, and on, and on. And the more it becomes apparent, the more painful the headache would become. It was almost like a ticking time bomb about to be exploded.
He wanted to say, yes! I submit! Just please stop hurting me! Alex gave out a muffled scream, but before the thought could fully materialize, he saw an ethereal white child-like hand placed atop his shoulder.
The child's voice was soft and sweet, just a tad bit too emotional, as it hits where it hurts the most. "What are you doing, Alex? Didn't you promised him to live a happy and fulfilling life. Was that all a lie as well..."The strange childlike voice echoes withinside his head, as the pain subsides for a bit before his head began to clear up for a bit.
The white ethereal childlike hand resting atop his shoulder, began to disappear right before his very eyes, becoming white rose petals.
White rose float set afloat, suddenly gaining speed and attraction, eventually becoming a small tornado, which surrounds Alex's figure, as his vision began to clear up. Not before his surroundings began to change.
....
The pitter-patter sound of the rain creates a sound barrier around little me. 'I love the sound of rain, it's relaxing.' The little me thought as he rode on the back of the buggy, with the waterproof seethrough cloth covering his whole body.
Little me then turns his face around, curiously, looking in the direction of his mother. Seeing his mother's sad expression, he couldn't help but ask. "Mum, why are there raindrops on your face."
His mother had seen little me's reaction, and was quite surprised, to hide away her shame, she wiped the tears away with her long wet cold damp sleeves.
"Its nothing, dear. Just a little rain that got on my face. There is nothing to worry about." His mother lovingly said in her calm reassuring voice, but that he failed to hide her teary eyes and quivering lips.
As she pushes the heavy buggy, with her weak scrawny arms, in the cold heavy rains. The heavy rainfall berated her body, soaking her long coat from top to bottom, as she escorted her two children harm.
....
The surrounding changes transitioning to someplace else, within the living room of an old run-down building, as a group of people gathers around.
"But stepmother, I can't always look after the kids when I'm stuck doing the chores, washing dishes, and doing the cooking." Little me's mother pleaded, with her eyes in the near breaking point of breaking down into tears.
"I'm one of the eldest within this family. So I get my say, and you don't. You're only my daughter in law just because your mother forced you into a forced marriage with my son. Get it, you little housewife." The stepmother spoke in a naggy arrogant tone, expressing her sense of authority over the household. Whilst, puffing her chest out, to show her dominance, much like a small pigeon.
But little me's mother wasn't able to accept the facts at face value, as she tries to retort back at her stepmother. "But Stepmother, I can't accept this. The way you've mistreated and abused me. The way you show unbiased love for her kid over mine... I can't accept this any longer!"
The Old Stepmother retorted back in anger for having her authority questioned. "So you think that just because you've married into this household. You've had any rights... If you don't want to live in this family then leave. Nobody is stopping you." The Old Stepmother shouted at the little me's mother, feeling no need to have her in the family anymore, as she crossed her arms, and then looks away. No longer wanting to look at the face of her daughter-in-law.
Little me's mother then walks up to little me, holding his hand tightly. She also picks up his younger baby brother, holding him in her other free arm. "I will be taking my two sons as well since I'm not a part of this family anymore. These boys now don't count as your grandchildren anymore, am I right." Little me's mother spoke, staying true to her beliefs, and adhering to the truth she believes in, despite the consequences resulted in her actions.
"Someone stop her. We can't allow her to take away the children of our household. Son, deal with your wife probably. You've originally wanted to marry her right." The Old Stepmother said so, and couldn't hold back her anger, as she yells at little me's mother.
"Look honey I'm..." The father didn't get the chance to finish his sentence when he was slapped right in the face.
The wife gave the husband an intense look, and can't hold back her crying tears, as she storms off with her two children. And they never once again return to that godforsaken place.
....
The scenery changes once again, but this time, it was the hospital patient room.
The white room is devoid of beauty as there is hope. The walls are simply plain. There is no decoration at all, save for the blue curtains, a lamp, and a wooden desk, next to the hospital bed.
