In a certain hospital room, a 'shadow' was looking at a bleeding man.
'This guy, he managed to raise a shield so fast, deflecting the dagger. It was only a couple of centimeters but it missed the heart. His control over creation energy is very good, probably even better than mine.' He thought as he jumped inside, walking towards Alan
Suddenly the door was opened by a doctor. He looked at the assassin and froze.
"Wh..Who are yo…" he tried saying, but the assassin raised an arm towards him, amplifying his fear, making him blackout.
Then, he continued walking towards Alan.

'Oh god, oh god, it hurts!!! I have to move the energy around the wound to heal it. Luckily, the doctor came, which will give me a couple of extra seconds. '
*'Haha, kid, you're pretty strong.'
'I need to find a way to beat this guy.'
*'Hey, kid, can't you hea…'
'But he's too stro… man, why am I thinking from his perspective?'
*'Because these aren't your thoughts!! They're mine!!' And as he said this, a huge pain assaulted Alan's mind
'Agh... Wait… you are the assassin? Is this telepathy?'
*'Something like that. And yes, I'm the one who was sent to kill you. But you seem to be pretty talented. It would be a shame to kill you, so I'm giving you a chance.'
'Wait, who sent you?'
*'I can't tell you that. Anyways, I will let you survive if you manage to hit me before the doctor over there wakes up.'
'Like I can do that… wait, maybe if I manage to copy his attack I might be able to hit him.'
*'Haha kid, there's no way you will be able to co…'
Then Alan cut the connection. It took a while to figure out how it worked but once he did it was easy to get rid of it. It seems he managed to transmit thoughts by sending very complex emotions into his mind, so to stop it he just had to stop accepting the energy.
'Now, how did he do the attack? I couldn't feel anything, but I know he used the energy… when he hit me thought, it didn't feel like it, it felt like air, but at the same time, it felt familiar…'
Then, he mobilized his energy and condensed it in a spot. But different from the assassin, the shadows around it didn't move, instead, the space itself darkened, as if a black hole appeared. Then it formed the shape of a blade and shot forward, faster than the assassin's dagger.
'No way… he can already transform creation energy… not only that, this is something beyond simple transformation, this is almost a contextual attack. Is it more like void or emptiness than darkness.' thought the assassin.
He could barely feel anything with his energy sense because it wasn't creation energy anymore. It was absence itself. He could only move the surrounding darkness around, but Alan...
He quickly created a shield. He could not dodge, since his eyes were not fast enough to react.
The shadow dagger went toward him, hitting his shield, but it could only manage to go halfway through before losing its energy and dissipating.
'Damn… I used all my energy for that hit… I'm done for.' Alan thought, although his energy control was very strong, stronger than the assassin's, his energy capacity was not even one-hundredth of his. He could use the energy in the air but it would take too long and could barely move a piece of paper, let alone block an attack.
*'Haha, kid, you didn't disappoint me. Well done, I'll let you live.' The assassin said after making another telepathic connection.
'But… I didn't manage to hit you…'
*'Let's just say you owe me, you're a strong esper, kid.' Then he jumped out of the window and disappeared, blending into the night.
'Hmm… I wonder what his name is… and 'esper'? That's how they, no, we're called? How many espers are there?' Alan continued to think about it until the doctor woke up confused. Luckily he wouldn't have to explain anything since he couldn't have seen anything.

A shadow landed on the rooftop of a certain building and looked in the direction it came from, at a hospital far away.
'Haha, I guess it was stupid for me to use darkness on someone so connected to it.'
Then, it continued on his way, leaving the city.

Slam
A loud sound was heard as a tall man slammed his fist on a desk.
"Damn it, we lost a strong esper today… what was in your mind? He must have been angered by you sending him to kill a disabled boy." He said.
"I'm sorry father, I'll send someone else to…"
"Don't, someone saw him, so they will put guards to watch over the boy. That traitor… probably that was his plan from the beginning, make sure we can't hurt him so he has time to grow..."
"Then what do we do now?"
"We wait. They won't keep watch on him for long… at most 1 or 2 months. Now go and train, and remember, just because you're my son that doesn't mean I won't punish you for your mistakes. Understood?"
"Y...Yes." The son said as he left.
"Alan… that boy is very lucky to have survived till now. But he is fated to die since he is a danger to us." The man said as he looked through the window at the lights of the city.
