"Adira wake up!!!" Quasar voice yells frightened.
"What?" I yell.
"Don't move!" Someone shouts.
I open my eyes to see Toshio Ikeda holding Aito in his arms with a gun at his head. Daniel, Ren, Quasar and Quantum are standing in front of them trying to persuade Toshio to let Aito go. I stand up and walk towards the two.
"Toshio Ikeda. Put the gun down and let Aito go." I say.
"Stop or else I'm going to shoot." Toshio threatens not at all nervous that he's pointing a gun at a person. It's almost like he's done this many times.
I stop walking when I'm a meter away from them. "Let me say this again. Put the gun down and let Aito go."
"What happens if I refuse?" Toshio asks playfully.
"I'll beat you into a coma." I stare blankly into his eyes.
"Hahaha!" Toshio starts laughing.
I laugh along side him before grabbing the paintball gun by the tree and smashing it into Toshio's nose.
"I did warn you to let go." I coldly smile.
"Hahaha!" Toshio starts laughing again. "Interesting." He says before lunging for me.
I dodge and aim a kick for his back but he manages to dodge it. He grabs a handful of snow and throws it into my face. He lunges at me again but I drop to my knees and wipe the snow off.
"I'm going to kill you!" I wipe all of the snow off but my face has some dirt smudges from the dirt that was mixed in with the snow.
Toshio smiles and picks up the gun. He aims it at Aito who's standing there dazed and shoots.
"Aito!" The five of us shout in surprise. We all run over forgetting about Toshio who takes this moment to escape.
"Aito! Aito!" Ren yells holding Aito into his lap.
"WTF!" I gasp when the bleeding won't stop. "What kind of bullet was that?" I ask trying to heal Aito again but it doesn't work.
"Aito hang in there." Daniel comforts.
"Adira why isn't it working?" Quasar asks.
"It's not letting her heal him." Daniel replies.
I rack my brains for answers but I only can come up with one. "His father."
"What?!" Ren and the twins ask.
"His father is a glitch that went missing a long time ago. Junior!" I shout.
Junior appears out of thin air. "What can I do for you, Senior?" He asks looking at our situation.
"Is there a Aito Abe in the system?"
A thick, dusty book appears in Juniors hands. "Aito Abe." Junior says and the book starts flipping pages by itself. The book shuts once going through all of the pages. "Nope. No Aito Abe."
"F*ck!" I curse and punch the ground.
"Why. What's wrong?" Ren asks.
"No one can heal glitches." I run my fingers through my fringe in frustration.
"Do something. Anything." Ren says. He looks at me like I'm the only hope.
"I can't Ren. I seriously can't. We don't have anything to heal glitches."
"Then why can you heal? Huh? It doesn't make sense that you can heal but he can't!"
"His mother is a water witch and his fathers a phasing* glitch so he doesn't have another half that can heal him like I do."
"Can't human medicine work?" Quantum asks.
"Nothing can. We don't have anything that can help glitches." I reply.
"Adira is the only glitch in history to have another half. That's why she has survived while the other glitches have died. By the glitches 20th birthday someone would be sent to kill them but because of Adira's status, blood and ability she cannot die." Daniel explains feeling helpless.
"I'm sorry Aito." I kowtow to him in apology.
"It's not your fault Chikara-chan. I already knew that this day would come sooner or later." Aito says weakly. His face is pale from blood loss. He smiles. "Don't let this affect you forever and live your life as you were before and anyway you all have a killer to catch. Be safe and have a good life." Aito's breathing start becoming irregular and soon slows down before stopping completely.
"Aito!" Tears start streaming down Ren's face when holding Aito's lifeless body. Ren starts sobbing.
I look over to see that Quantum and Quasar are also sobbing while Daniel is silent but tears slide down his cheeks. I'm the only one not crying. I reach under my clothes and pinch my stomach. My fingernails dig into my flesh which causes me to bleed but I don't say anything and continue to look at Aito's body. This has always been used instead of crying. I did it when my sister died, my brothers died, my mother died and at their funerals.
After a few minutes the guys start to calm down are trying to cheer up but they fail miserbly.
"Let's go." I say to the boys after getting everything that I have.
The boys look up to me and nod. They start to pack up which is really nothing so it takes a very short time and soon we are walking in the direction Toshio escaped in.
"Let's go kill this b*stard!" The boys say simultaneously.
I smile since this is more in my league. "Yass!" I yell and start to run happily. The boys start to run too.
[Finally some action] Astrid says.
'We may need to use magic if things starts going south so be ready' I warn her.

Gun shots are fired. I hurry my pace and reach the area quickly.
Three Zuoka High Students are laying in a pool of blood. I walk over to one of the ones still alive and ask what happened.
"A student came out of.... nowhere and.....just started sh...ooting. Last night.... one of our students didn't come back..... and then gun shoots were fired close by.... so we assume he was shot." The student answers weakly.
"Who was the student that went missing and what color was the other student wearing?" I ask.
"Our leader.... and the man w...as wearing..." The boy pauses for a long time.
"What color?"
".....Red." The boy manages to say before going limp.
"Why didn't you help him?" Ren asks.
"Because he already knew nothing could save him so if I saved him it would give me away. Besides we would have to bring him with us which would be very tiring." I reply putting something in the bullet wound. "Is anyone else alive?"
"This one is but the other isn't." Daniel answers feeling the dead students pulse.
"Did he just die?"
"Yes. Probably when the other guy died."
"Okay." I move over and put something into the other students wounds. "It's not safe anymore so let's hurry and get Toshio and his helper."
We start to follow the footprints in the snow that the helper must've left behind.
