Chapter 24 - Chapter 2: The Bushes

Diana Marchand's POV

"Mine," Arthur growled as he was prowling toward me like the wolf that he was. I was breathing heavily as I sense that my wolf was purring when he was claiming me as his. I did not know what to do. For the first time in my life, I was standing still on my feet as I saw Arthur was coming at me.

"And to think that you will be marrying the Alpha, I think you have a downgrade in this, princess," he said as he was smiling wickedly at me. I gulped as I looked into his gleaming green eyes.

It was common knowledge that everyone on this island has grey eyes that indicated they were from the pack but ever since our new Gamma settled in the pack with his mother, he was the only one that has different eyes.

I was looking at him who was circling me in the small space. I took a sniff and I smelled it. It was nice and spicy. Like pine wood and cinnamon. I can see that it fits him perfectly before I almost close my eyes.

Keyword: almost.

I cannot let him dictate me like this. I will not be succumbing to him even though he was my mate. I will fight him if I have to.

"Even if you're my mate, what are you going to do about it?" I asked him as he was looking at me before he was smirking.

"Claim you of course,"

"But won't Alpha be mad? He did not like to share things," I said flatly, not showing any emotion that I was happy to know that he would claim me as his, and I will not be with Caleb and that arranged marriage.

"I will tell him straight away that our sacred law was above him. He cannot deny me when his fiancée was my mate. I think he would be happy so that he will have a chance to find his mate," Arthur said before he was leaning against the bushes. He looked so delicious right now.

No, you cannot succumb to his sexual appeal. You are stronger than that.

I cleared my throat as I was looking at him. He was regarding me with interest before me as I was looking around.

"I don't think people know yet that we were mates," I said as I was looking at Arthur. He shrugged.

"I don't care what people think. I just want you," he said before my wolf purred at him.

'Take him,'

'Allow him to claim us,'

'Want him,'

My wolf was agitated that we were closed but we're not doing anything like we supposed to be. If one finds their mates, they would be off and rutting like crazy in the wild. But not us. No! We're far from normal mates as I was engaged to the Alpha and Arthur was…an outsider who got promoted to be Gamma.

"How come you be a Gamma when you never set your foot on this island before?" I said bluntly as I was looking at him. He arched his eyebrows in amusement before I was looking away from his intense gaze.

"I see that you are interested in my career," he replied as he was getting away from the gate. He was coming toward me before I was stepping backward. I don't know what was it about him that I have to stay away but I wanted to touch him, feel him under my skin.

God, I am a complicated woman.

"You shouldn't be afraid, princess, I'm not going to hurt you. Well, not yet," he said before I was on the bushes and he stopped in front of me and leaning forward. His hot breaths were hitting my face and I can smell cinnamon. I think if I tasted him, he will be like that.

Cinnamon.

"Why don't we get to know each other better before we go to the next stage?" He suggested as his calculating green eyes were staring at me.

"And why would I do that with you?" I asked as my heart was beating so fast when he was smirking down on me. He leaned forward as his mouth was on my left ear.

"Because, Princess, I can smell that your arousal right now. I know you want me but I will not give it to you until you submit," he said before he stepped out of my personal space. He was backing up to the way that he came from before he said to me.

"Be at the training ground tomorrow at 8 sharp. Don't be late. Even though you're my mate, I will not tolerate tardiness," he said before he disappeared. Finally, just then, I can breathe and I think I might be a puddle on the ground if not for Sam that came after me.

"Come quick, you got to see this," Sam said as she was dragging me. I don't know where she was going but I just let her took me away from that bushes, knowing that I left my heart there.

Arthur Adamos' POV

I was smirking as I went back to the group where Damien was still telling of my embarrassing stories before Alpha and Beta came to me.

"Gamma, we need you now," Caleb said with authority in his voice.

"What's the problem?"

"I think we have some rogue in our territory. It was on the eastern side of the territory," Xavier filled out before I nodded at them.

"Let's go then," I said before we were running from the public eyes into the forest before we changed into our wolves.

Caleb was leading the pack as I was running beside Xavier. We were wary for we never had rogue before. I hoped it was not that threatening to the whole pack after all.

'Anything?' Xavier asked before I was sniffing the air. There was nothing that can be classified as threatening, although I did smell blood.

'Blood, I think someone's hurt,' I said in the mind link before we were running toward the source of the blood. When we reached the destination, it was a wolf, an adult wolf, that was hurting and he was whimpering. Caleb stepped closer and he bared his canines.

'Okay, I think we might need to put him down,' I suggested before Caleb snarled.

'No, he's not bad. I can sense it but I have to reach him,' he said before he turned to regard us.

'Alone,' he said before Xavier and I bowed to the Alpha and gave them some space. We went to guard the territory for anything that might come and attack us when Caleb was talking to the rogue.

'Who do you think it is?' I asked Beta before he whimpered.

'I don't know but I think he was hurt because he was being hunted. If he was a rogue, he cannot be that badly hurt,' he replied before Caleb was coming with the man. They shifted back before I shifted back and I was looking at the unconscious man that Caleb was hooking onto his shoulder.

"I think we might need to see the Ultima now and see what he thinks," Caleb said as I was nodding at him and Xavier as well.
