Xavier Marchand's POV
I went inside the house as I closed the front door slowly. I know my mother was cooking in the kitchen as I can smell my favorite moussaka was on the stove.
"You're home already?" My mum asked as she was looking from the kitchen. I was moving toward my bedroom as I don't want her to question me about anything.
Maybe I should be going to Caleb before coming home.
"Xavier?" She called after me as I was going up the stairs. I have to clear my mind. The running has been great but my mind still on someone else. I sighed as I was opening the bedroom and closed it.
I laid in bed as I was remembering her green eyes, blonde hair, magnetic smile.
I cannot think about anything at all. I was having some thoughts as to how I would approach her as I was trying to get her to know me.
I sighed as I was rubbing my face as I was groaning and tossing on the bed. I have to get this feeling under control. I need to get to Caleb and maybe he knows what to do. I hastily get out of bed and went out of the room.
"Where are you going?" Mum asked as I was going to the front door again.
"I have to meet Caleb to talk about something. It's urgent," I said as I went to kiss her cheeks.
"You are just like your father," she said as she smiled at me. I frowned at her.
"I am nothing like that traitor,"
"Sure, of course. I mean you loyal like him but sadly he chose the wrong side," my mum said. Even though we don't talk too much about him, I know that my mother still missed her husband.
"Gotta run. I see you at lunch,"
"Be careful," she said as I was jogging to the Alpha's house. That phrase never gets old.
As I was coming into view of the Alpha's house, I started to walk to the front door. I can smell that Luna Marina was cooking something for her husband. I hoped I did not intrude on them. Luckily, Caleb was doing something out in the back.
"Need a hand?" I asked as I saw that Caleb was cutting the logs for the firewoods. He was sweating profusely as he turned to look at me and smiled. I smiled back at him.
"Well, since you asked," he said as he tossed me the ax. I caught it before I went to cut the firewoods as well.
"So, what brings my Beta to my house early this morning?" Caleb said as we were cutting firewoods. I frowned at him. It was not that early, it was 10 AM.
"Well, I have something to discuss with you,"
"Something wrong with the pack?" He asked as he would always ask about the pack. He was staring at me before I shook my head as I smiled at him.
"No, not that. It's more of a personal matter," I said as I was cutting more of the firewoods. He stopped his cutting as he was staring at me before I looked at him. He smiled as he went to get his towel and wiped his face.
"She's here, isn't she?" He asked as he tossed me a bottle of water for me. I barely making sweat to drink so I was just rolling the bottle in my hands.
"Well, yes and no. I don't know. It's…complicated," I said as I was looking at the kitchen. Luna Marina was humming happily as she was making some lunch for her and her husband. I sighed as I wanted what Caleb had.
"Xavier, you're in denial,"
"I am so not," I said before he chuckled at me. He drank some water as he was staring at his wife.
"Right,'' he said as he was chuckling at me. I scowled before I tossed the bottle at him. He caught it before he tossed at me again. This was going nowhere.
"Okay, let me get this straight. You want me to help you to sort out your feeling?" Caleb asked as we were sitting on the back porch. I sighed as I nodded at him. He patted my shoulders as we were staring at the forest.
"Have your wolf been crazy near her?" He asked. Was it? Maybe. I shook my head. Caleb sighed.
"You need to answer me honestly if you want my help," Caleb said before I rubbed my face with my hands.
"I don't know, okay? The first time I saw her was when she was about to be in a fucking accident. All of a sudden, I was moving in her way and my wolf was purring 'Mine' at her," I said as I was trying to control the urge to kick something right now.
"Okay, so your wolf was acting crazy around her?"
"Yes!"
"Well, it can't be helped then. Your wolf claimed that woman then she is your mate. See? I told you would find her sooner or later," he said as he was shaking his head.
"I don't think it would be sooner," I said as I was staring at the forest. But all I can see was her green eyes as she was smiling at me. My wolf purred at that imagination.
"So, now that you know what your feelings were? What are you going to do about it?" He asked as I was looking at my hands. I was gripping the water bottle before I sighed.
"I don't know," I admitted before Caleb was squeezing my shoulder.
"I think you should ask her to the Folk Festival. That would give you some time with her and maybe if she likes you, you can confess your feelings for her," he said as he was smiling at me. I scowled at the idea.
"But that festival was in 3 days," I said.
"So?"
"She will be gone in 5 days. I barely got time to convince her to stay," I said as I was thinking about the future without her. Oh my God! I was thinking about her all the time. Caleb smirked at me as he was getting up to stand.
"Well, it's best if you start on that now," Caleb said as Marina was waving at us to come inside.
"Lunch?" Caleb asked before I shook my head.
"Thanks but no thanks. My mum already made moussaka and I don't want to interrupt your alone time," I said as I was smirking at him. Caleb blushed.
"Well, I was just being polite," Caleb mumbled before I laughed at him.
"Bastard," he said as I shook my head.
"Send my regards to Luna. I'll get going now," I said as I was jogging out of the house. I went to my house as I had lunch with my mum while thinking about Stella. I need a plan and a fast one.
Stella will be gone in 5 days and I have to make sure that she will stay no matter what the consequences of my actions.
I smiled as my mum was talking about my sister but my mind was at another place and another time.
Tonight I will carry out my plan.
