You want to speak with the school while riding in the bus? Sure thing.
Just pick up your phone and dial the number, if it's not already in your contact list.
Speaking of contact list, they found that depending on what phone company one bought their phone for, the *621 or *121 or *... Whatever, was often the first number already stored in their contact list.
Following this, one would find 911.
Once many people got home, they went through the massive 800 page phone book given to them when they had their landlines installed.
