Caroline woke up to a brand new day in Alex's bedroom. He was still sleeping beside her. She managed to sleep soundly last night. As if all her worries and fears are finally lead to rest.
The moment she decided to let go of her marriage to Mike, all her suffering was gone too. She's no longer living in fear, guilt, and worries. She is free to live again on her terms.
She sacrificed her love for Mike in the end because she realized that sometimes love is not enough.
She stared at the closed window.
Alex stirred in his sleep and finally opened his eyes. He looked at her face happily. "Good morning, babe!" he said aloud.
Caroline smiled back at him and replied, "Good morning!"
Alex kissed her cheek and caressed her tummy. "Good morning, baby!" he greeted his unborn child and kissed Caroline's tummy. "I'm so happy that you and mommy are finally home! I'm no longer alone!" he said jovially.
Caroline smiled radiantly.
