Kali took out a small booklet. This booklet looked extremely ancient. It seemed as if it would fall apart with a single touch. It had a blood red cover that had gold inscriptions throughout. Kali saw the skeptical look on Tahir's face and a knowing smile spread across his face. "Don't be worried, this book won't fall apart. Your ancestor made this during a time where he was fascinated with making things that looked weak but were abnormally strong. During that time, he created a thread that could cut through a planet."
Tahir raised his eyebrow in slight confusion, "Seriously? A planet? An entire world?"
Kali scoffed. "No matter how much you think you know, there's enough you don't know to make a whole new world. For example, look at me. Even your ancestor didn't expect a planet to form around my core when he created me." If Tahir could see Kali's thoughts, he'd see an image of an old man sticking out his tongue at him like a little kid.
Tahir raised his hands as if surrendering. The last thing he wanted was to provoke Kali into a rant about the greatness of his ancestor. He felt that was something that would never end. "What book is this?"
Kali tossed the book for Tahir to catch. "I see you never closed that wound on your hand. Use that to drop some blood on the book." He then took out a pill from seemingly nowhere and tossed to Tahir as well. "Once you're done absorbing that summary. Take this to heal your wounds. It will force out any contaminated blood, stop the bleeding, and close the wound. You don't want to die from infection before you even started cultivating, do you?"
Tahir placed the pill in his mouth and squeezed his wounded hand over the book. A drop of blood hit the cover and a bright red light shone from the cover. He heard a voice in his head reciting the summary of another cultivation technique. This voice somehow seemed familiar even though he's sure he never heard it before.
Cultivation Technique - Primordial God Cannon: This technique uses all available energy to temper the body while gathering spirit energy to form a qi core and nourish the soul. This technique cultivates all three types of energy simultaneously, offering an unprecedented solid foundation and access to techniques that combine different types of cultivation energy. Those using this technique will need to gather enough energy to advance the body, qi, and soul at the same time. While this leads to longer cultivation time, it does allow for interchangeable combat techniques and the innate strength of a body transformation cultivator. As an advantage, crafters will be able to use triple the amount of energy of single system cultivators for crafting. However, while other cultivators will be able to instinctively feel an approximately level of strength, they won't be able to fully sense the amount of energy you have available. As a disadvantage, even though pills and other cultivation aids can be used to speed up the process of cultivation, since people using this art will need triple the energy to advance, they will also need to triple the resources to assist cultivation.
Tahir finished reviewing the summary of the Primordial God Cannon. He was deep in thought. However, the more he thought about it, the more excited he was. Kali saw that Tahir was growing excited and thought to warn him. "Just so you know. You can't possibly imagine the amount of resources needed for this technique. As implied by the name, this is a Divine Level Technique. While it will offer an incomparably deep foundation, it will devour resources to no end."
Tahir felt there was only one question that needed to be answered. "Will it make me strong?"
Even though he didn't show it on his face, Kali was also slightly thrilled to see Tahir's rock solid determination. "No one has ever cultivated this technique before. So, I don't know how effective…"
Tahir interrupted Kali. "Will it make me strong?"
Kali resigned himself to the disappointment of not being able to offer yet another diatribe. "An incomparable foundation will undoubtedly lead to incomparable strength."
Tahir balled his now repaired hand into a fist. He could feel the pain and itchiness when it was repairing itself. It was another reminder of the weak person he was. He refused to feel weak ever again. "Then this is what I will cultivate."
Kali handed a new ring to Tahir. It was gold inlaid with several inscriptions. "Then I'd like to congratulate you on making a decision. The ring I'm handing you should always be kept on your person. It doesn't have any function, but wearing it will definitely bring you luck, and luck is exactly what you will need. Place it on to the same finger as your other ring."
Tahir placed the gold ring on his finger. Unexpectedly, the black ring seeped out from under his skin where it normally rested and merged with the gold ring. Once the 2 rings were fully merged the ring became golden with black rune markings on the band. The newly formed ring then went back into his hand where it could no longer be seen.
After the new ring disappeared, Kali took out 3 white jade bottles. "Come with me. You'll need my help to get started with this technique. For other cultivators, even if they cultivate all three types of arts, they will still have 3 separate stores of energy. However, the Primordial God Cannon requires you to combine all 3 types of cultivation energies into a new type of energy, which is why most cultivators won't be able to accurately gauge your level."
Tahir followed Kali back to the main manor. After walking through the front door of the manor, Kali led Tahir to the back of the house. They arrived at an area with an open roof. This area had a natural hot spring. Tahir could see the water bubbling and the steam rising as if it was a pot on top of the oven. The spring was elevated approximately 2 meters off the ground with a staircase carved into the slope of the hill leading to the spring. Kali directed Tahir to a wooden tub located at ground level to the side of the spring. He lifted a metal plate that was on the side of the tub and water from the hot spring began to fill the tub. Once the tub was full, he told Tahir to strip and sit down in the water. He saw Tahir was looking at the water with a cautious expression. "Don't worry. There are inscriptions inside the tub that will maintain the temperature of the water. It won't grow cold."
Tahir wondered how Kali could ever think that he was worried about this boiling water going cold. He decided to correct his errant thoughts. "It's precisely because it's boiling that I'm being cautious here. You do realize that boiling water is not the right temperature for a bath, right? I can wash up without cooking myself."
Kali, for once, didn't feel like explaining as he was eager to get started. He waved his hand which cut through Tahir's clothing and picked him up to throw him in the tub. "Just hold still while I prepare the water." Suddenly one of the white jade bottles appeared in his hand. He poured the contents from the bottle into the tub right before throwing Tahir into the tub. Tahir screamed.
Kali then poured out the contents of the other 2 bottles. There were 2 pills in his hand. "Quickly take these. It'll help." He shoved the 2 pills in Tahir's mouth and they immediately melted. Next, Tahir felt a well of energy surge from his body and a cool stream of energy coming from his mind. Kali placed his hands on Tahir's back and said, "Quickly cultivate the art!"
Despite the wells of energy Tahir was still in immense pain. He yelled at Kali, "You only gave me the summary!"
Kali had a slightly embarrassed expression on his face. "Oh yes. I forgot. He placed a blood red jade in Tahir's hand and pricked his finger with a needle that he seemingly drew from the air. He directed a drop of blood from Tahir to the blood red jade. His mind was immediately flooded with information. Tahir didn't wait for all the information to finish drilling into his mind before he started cultivating the initial stages of the art. He was able to easily sense the spirit energy in the air given his enhanced mental energy offered by one of the pills. As he drew in the spirit energy, the water from the hot spring, while still painful, started to become bearable.
Kali noticed that Tahir was able to draw in some spirit energy. So, he began to assist him. "Hold that spirit energy right there. I'm going to bring in a strand of your mental energy and vital energy to that location. Once I do, you immediately begin cultivating to merge them together."
Tahir heard Kali, but he was too focused on enduring the searing pain of the hot spring to respond. However, Kali worked quickly, and he immediately felt the other 2 strands of energy. Tahir quickly moved to cultivate the Primordial God Cannon. It took about an hour for Tahir to merge all 3 types of energy, but once he did, a shocking change happened. His body started to draw in the surrounding spirit energy rapidly. If one were to use their mental energy to observe the area, they'd noticed a whirlpool of energy surrounding Tahir and disappearing into his body. At this point, Tahir was in an ethereal state. He didn't notice the massive amount of energy he was drawing in.
