Chapter 1 - Chapter I: Welcome to Speinia

Walking into the door of the mansion. Maids and butlers rushing, preparing dinner and cleaning the dining table. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, restless as always. Walking upstairs to her bedroom, through the narrow hallway. Min felt a cold chill, "Did the maids leave the window open again?" Min thought. Walking further into the hallway Min opened the door to her room. Setting her bag down near her desk, she started doing her homework.

It was late fall...winter was coming soon.

It is 7 o'clock now, opening the door, "Lady Min dinner's prepared." the maid said. Min layed her pencil down and got up. Walking downstairs to the dining room, there layed Wagyu Kobe Steak on fresh herbs. Sitting at the dining table sat Min's other siblings, her little brother, and sister.

Min's parents were nowhere to be found." Seems like their busy AGAIN..." Min thought.

After dinner, going up to the bathroom. Min took a bath and went back to her room. Finishing the remainder of the schoolwork, Min picked up a book on her shelve. Looking at the book, it seems old. There seemed to be a bit of dust on it, "Maybe the maids didn't see this." Min thought. Opening the book, the letters that were written weren't Korean. Examining each page, there were pictures. But they look as if they came from a fantasy book. Flipping through the pages, a photo fell out.

It was a photo of my grandma but she looked younger but, Min noticed that the person next to her had ears and tails. She had brilliant black hair and glowing amber eyes. Their eyes were mesmerizing, even if it's through a photo.

Min tried deciphering the letters in the book. Lost in the process of finding the meaning of the book, when Min checked the time on her phone it was already 10. Min decided to continue the process, later on, tomorrow was Saturday either way.

"Min," a voice echoed. Min turned to the area the sound came from, but it was pitch black."Who is it?" Min asked. "Min," the voice kept one echoing. Trying to head towards the voice, Min felt as if her body was stuck in place. Then an image her grandmother stood in front of her."Grandma.." Min mumbled as tears started to fall."No this is not real, you already died from a heart attack. This is just a dream, I just can't get over your death." Min thought to herself."Sweety even if I die, grandma will always be with you." Min's grandma said with a warm smile. Min tried running towards her grandmother but, no matter how much she ran she can never get close to her grandmother."Oh, it's time for me to go, my dear, we will meet again. Go to my cottage and get the-." Min's grandmother said as she got cut off.

Sitting up from her bed, huffing, and puffing, sweat fell down Min's face. Min went to the bathroom to wipe her face, "Was that dream real or am I just hallucinating." Min thought.

Dressing up and getting the book, Min went to the backyard. In the backyard of the mansion were a mountain and a large forest. Following the path leading into the forest, one will find a cottage. Everyone but Min had forgotten of the cottage.

Following the path, Min found the cottage. Getting the keys from under one of the flower pots near the front door. Min opened the door, walking into the cottage there was cobwebs and dust on the tables. Walking upstairs, with each step there was a creak, Min looked around the room."Grandma said find something." Min thought as she inspected everything carefully. Looking through the cupboards full of Chinese antiques, there was nothing. Min kept on searching, but there was nothing to be found. Min flipped through the book again, then she came upon a picture of a bracelet. Thinking back on it, Min remembered that her grandma had a bracelet similar to it. Going into the jewelry box Min's grandma had near her bed. Min found the bracelet, "Is this what grandma was talking about?" Min thought. Min put the bracelet on, a glowing light came from the bracelet.

Once the light stopped, Min found herself in the middle f the forest. A holographic image pops up, "Open menu?" was what it said."How did I get here?" Min kept thinking. Confused Min tapped"yes". The menu opened:

Min tapped the screen, but her finger went through."This is kind alike a game set-up huh," Min said to herself."The stats are a bit uneven like defense is 7821! What does Envy mean? Who is Kiana? Why am I here?" many thoughts ran through Min's head. The screen pops up again. This time it said, "Transfer memories?"."Should I do it? If I do I might get some answers but, what if it's gonna overwrite my memories."

After some time of thinking, Min tapped "yes". When she taped yes the screen felt as if it was solid. But, memories started flowing into her head, and she was sure that the memories weren't hers. The memories did answer her questions but not all. Min felt as if her head was gonna crack open, she fell onto the ground holding her head. Then, she saw a tail, looking behind her Min saw that she had a tail and horns. She also had white hair, "So the stats were my stats and I'm in another body." Min thought. Inspecting the outer parts of the body, Min found out that it was exactly as the stats said. She was now an Archdemon and her body seemed to be 16 year-olds.

Getting up, Min looked around her surroundings."Wait where's the book?!" Min thought. Looking around, there was no sign of a book. The screen popped up and said, "Open Inventory". Min responded with "yes". The screen image changed from the question to slots. And in the slots are the book Min found in her room. Reaching towards the book, Min's hand went into a hand sized-portal and out came the book."Inventory can store anything but living things."

Min opened the book, "If I got Language Translation then that means I could probably read the writings," Min thought. As Min looked through the pages, she can finally read everything. The book was like a journal, it had information on almost everything. From items to countries."How do I open the menu again?" Min thought. The screen popped up," To open the Menu say "Menu". To open Inventory say "Inventory". To activate a skill say the skills name unless the skill is passive. If viewing skill then tap the skill." Min started to gain an understanding of this world. It's like RPG games, where you level up to become more powerful."Inventory," Min said and the inventory popped up. She put the book back into the inventory."But how do I get back home?" Min thought. Nothing popped up to answer her question.

Looking at the sky, the sun seems to be setting. Forgetting the fact that she didn't eat breakfast yet Min felt as if she was starving. Getting up, "Seems like I have to get to either a village or hunt." From the book, Min knew that there seems to be a dispute between humans and demons. Her best bet is to hunt creatures. Min was a bit confident that she can find food, she did take survival classes and other classes when she was in the other world.

Walking deeper into the forest, she caught sight of a pack of wolves."Probably should get away from them." Min thought."Animals seem to be the same." On the way, Min found some berries. They were categorized as either bitter but edible or edible. She did find some poisonous herbs, taking them and putting them into her inventory.

Min soon found a lone boar. Hiding behind bushes, Min jumped out and punched a boar. The boar had a backup and when one was attacked, the rest of the swine come out from hiding. The swine started charging at Min, Min used the block stance for boxing. She felt the impact of the boar's attack but, it didn't seem to hurt at all."That's probably the defense stat." Min thought. After charging at Min, the boars fell back and became dazed. Min punched the boars while jumping from side to side to avoid possible attacks. Taking down the largest boar with a few punches, the swine of boars dispersed. Each running in a different direction.

"Now how do I skin it?" Min thought. Min looked up, it is almost dark. Min picked the boar corpse up. Surprisingly it was a bit light, the corpse felt like the same weight as Min's bag. There was a cave nearby, Min brought the boar into the cave and went to get sticks. When she got back, Min started a fire. Opening the menu, Min saw that fatigue was at 38. This is because she didn't eat anything the whole day.

Min found a rock just sharp enough to pierce the boar's fur. Cutting the boar and taking out the organs. Min then hung the boar up with a stack structure, Min waited for the blood to leave the meat. Min stomach started to growl louder by each minute. Finally, it was time to cook the boar over the fire. The boar meat was ready when it turned a bit more dark than normal meat. After eating the boar meat, Min's stomach had stopped growling."I need to find a lake soon. The process of skinning the meat is too messy."

The next morning, Min got up and started heading north or so that's what she thought was north. Min walked and walked, taking a break and food from time to time. But finally, she found a river. Taking off the hoodie she had been wearing since she came to this world. Setting up a fire near the hoodie to dry it."Menu," Min said, then tapping [Envy].

[Envy]

You will be able to obtain the opponents' skill but it will be 25% less powerful than the actual skill.

[Bonus: Able to mimic the user's desired appearance, but it will only last 15 minutes. Time can be extended if someone with the same amount of charisma is sacrificed.]

"Mimicking a skill is pretty useful but, killing someone for the appearance is a bit too much." Min thought.

When the hoodie dried, Min put it back on and got a few gulps of water."Even if the water is bacteria-infested, I should watch my fatigue." Min thought. Then, Min started heading the direction she was already heading.

"Tanks cover the mages!" a voice yelled from close by. Moving the branches, Min saw a group of people, they were attacked a pack of wolves. It seemed that they are normal gray wolves but, they had a perfect formation and stronger."Appraisal'" Min said.

"They seem pretty weak to me...should I go to help them? But, if I do I could be attacked...I'm an archdemon after all." Min thought. "Wait...."."Envy," Min said.

Looking at her outfit, Min looks like her original body but, her face is masked. Jumping into the fight."Come at me, you fiends!" Min yelled. Min became the main focus of the dire wolves. The wolves started to target Min."Envy," Min murmured."Growl"."Now scram!!!" Min bellowed. Even Min could only use 75% of the skill, the result was still effective. The dire wolves whimpered and started to retreat.

"Thank you for helping Young Miss, may I get your name?" a man asked."What name would be a good disguise?" Min thought."Call me Yuno." Min replied."Yuno? Miss Yuno must be a foreigner," the man asked."Yeah..." Min answered."Would you like to join us, we are taking goods to the town of Hazelborn." another man asked."I do need to find civilization..." Min thought."Thank you and I will take your offer." Min said.

There weren't any major problems during the travel, Min stayed in the covered wagon for the majority of the trip. Soon, the time limit for the disguise was about to end."Can you guys lend me a piece of cloth and a knife..." Min asked a man."Um...alright..." he said hesitantly.

The guy came back with a piece of white cloth and a knife. Min put the knife into her Inventory, as the timer ended she wrapped the piece of cloth around her face and put her hod on. There were many covered wagons following.

Night soon came, the men brought bread, dried meat, and freshwater to Min. Eating the food, Min felt dizzy. The truth hit Min, why the merchants had so many wagons following behind...
