Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

I woke up in a completely white interrogation room, with a large black darkened window to my right. No matter who was hiding behind it, watching me. In shock as I opened my eyes, I considered how deep underground I had been taken. Perhaps without knowing what was being done to me, but right after that two agents came in who work for the federal agency. Opening it, they had a large, thick door open. A middle-aged man, I guessed about thirty, dark skinned and a woman, late twenties, white skinned and black hair entered. The blue-eyed woman with a file. The two came in, sat down in front of me. Immediately after, they introduced themselves as Katie and Alfred. I didn't have to introduce myself because Katie had the file from me. Where they got it from remains a big question to me to this day. "We know about your powers," he expressed omnisciently. "That's why we need your help. We can't prevent terror without you," she explained gently. In fact, she had already convinced me, but of course I had to show my tougher side. "What will I get out of this?", I inquired frankly. "You will have a lighter sentence in court," it shot across his mouth. "We will consider letting them go after the orders," she contradicted him, to which she added, "You will have our support!" She smiled at me. I was completely confused. Normally, officials are always in agreement, but these two were different. I don't know why, but there is always a reason. I didn't leave it at this, but insisted that if I agreed, I would be released and have my own space. In the middle of the sentence where Alfred countered me, Katie agreed with me. Alfred looked at Katie, I pulled a face, in the sense of, what the heck. Very tough this was from her, who continued to smile at me.

"Then we can get started. What are they waiting for?", I put their attention on my chains. The woman took out her keys, with which they now opened the chains. Annoyed with her, her partner got up, leaving the room. He probably went to complain to her supervisor, or perhaps worse, to blacken her name. "Come with Jack, I'll show you to your room." She opened the door, still holding the file in her hand that I had no idea was related to my next assignment. She ran into the hallway, me following behind her. Alfred came angrily out of the room from which they were watching me. With an outstretched index finger, he threatened her before angrily walking away, "We're nowhere near done with this!" She replied without panic, telling him to wait for her in the cafeteria. On the way, I asked her if she wasn't worried. "You don't even know what you've gotten yourself into! Did they explain it to you?" I shook my head. "No one knows, we are Travellers, travelers who come from the future, who have to change the future," she whispered. I smiled at her incredulously, "Why?" "After a meteorite strike, many people die out until only a few decide to change the past to form a new future and you, Jack, are chosen to help." "Nice!", I told her in return. She opened my small room, where I have a bed and a big pillow, to sit on. She closed the door behind us. I enjoyed in my big pillow. "Welcome to the Secret Service," she greeted me. "So Jack," she addressed me, I straightened up. "With your power, you can do a lot of things you don't know yet." "Like what?" How could she know such things if she didn't have those abilities? Oh yeah, she's from the future, I'd forgotten. "You can possess the bodies of others without being able to control them. You can also read minds. You can use false memories on people or hypnotize them and much more." She was puzzled. I needed to allocate my free time better. Before she opened the file, she took out something from her pants pocket that looked like gum, but then until she explained to me, it was like a syringe with an implant that I and she could communicate with no matter what body I was in. I leaned forward with her implanting this behind my right ear. "Does it work?", I was interested. "It always works. Believe me. All you have to do is press behind your ear, no matter what body you're in, and you can reach me with it." She now opened her file. "A new drug has appeared on the black market that is quickly taking over the world. We don't know how we can be affected by it. I need you to find out where it's originating and how it's getting to us in America."

"Does the public know about this?" She smiled disappointedly, "No, but it's not your decision." I can't understand why they hid from the public that there was a new dangerous drug in the country. Anyway, the intelligence agencies came up with a single mother who lived outside of Washington." She handed me the picture of Angela Key, who had wrinkles on her face, red hair, blue eyes. I was trying to remember her facial structure when suddenly I was standing in the middle of the hallway of a house. I was wearing her wide jeans, a sweater and her red fat hair, which I had to straighten because it actually fell into my collar, Angela, which scratched me. Two children came in front of me. "We have to go, Mom," one of her children said responsibly. What would a real mother say now? I squatted down and gave them each a kiss on the cheek. "Enjoy your day. Now go," I smiled kindly at them. They turned away and went outside. Now I was alone. Where would a mother hide her drugs? First I noticed the kitchen, then maybe her room. At first I searched the downstairs and upstairs rooms when I found boxes I wanted to look at, took them out. I took these on the table. One by one I had searched. Just as I was finishing, surprisingly Angela's friend Elise rang the doorbell and after I opened the door, she greeted me in a friendly manner. From this I had assumed that she had taken off for the day. I had no choice but to play Angela. I stepped aside, sei stepped in. After a first short small talk, she stood by the kitchen door. "What are you doing with the boxes," she glanced at the boxes I couldn't supply. "I'm a little on the lookout, but have a seat. Would you like coffee?", I asked her. She agreed and stepped into the kitchen. I put the boxes back in the dressers, from which I removed them I took out a couple of cups and by push button the coffees were made. "How are Antoine and Las?" she inquired as I gave her coffee. Although I had no idea when she meant, I answered her with an indifferent, "Fine." "Did you ask if you could keep them?" it only now dawned on me that she was talking about her children. Was Angela on probation, for instance? "Yes, I'm allowed to," I played emotionally with Angela's voice. "Did they tell you them anything else." Further, she had asked me if I could give her my cell phone. "I don't know where it is" She looked at me in wonder.

"How do you not know. Are you okay?" she wanted to know. "Yes, why?" At that moment when I asked her this, the door opened. As it did, the floor squeaked. I turned around, ran to the door, al his man attacked me. He grabbed me by Angela's shirt, lifting me into the air. I tried to grab him, but women's bodies are weak, except when she only goes to the gym every day. Anyway, I grabbed my cup. I doused his face with hot coffee. He pushed me on the top of the table. At first, Elise was surprised, crying out softly. "Where are the drugs?" he wanted to know from me. That's when I found out, she had hidden drugs somewhere after all. Just before I would have said, "you should tell me!", Elise hit him in the head with her cup. He had not yet fallen to the floor, but turned his head toward her. She felt her fear, his aggression and the hatred in his eyes. Only when I hit him against the head with my cup did he fall to the ground. "What did he want from you?" she wanted to go that she had heard correctly. "Drugs." "You have drugs!" "That's why I'm here," I confused her even more with that statement until I revealed my true identity to her.
