Chapter 5 - Ch. 004 / Percentage & Sariyoku Evaluation (Become A New Student Hijiri!)

Hijiri pouted looking around the single lit dark room. Arumigi wasn't talking to her - definitely because she had totally embarrassed him by her lack of self control around the Academy's principal, Sir. Pumpkin. In her defense, Hijiri never really was raised by 'in the right way'. She spent her whole life at the church being an orphan and now she took care of the orphans there. She learned at the church, studied at the church, was protected by the church, and was even taught magic at the church. Everything she knew how to do was because of Shirono Hato Church (Shirohato for short), she barely explored September City where Shirohato was in. She saw why now; she was literally almost killed by some woman eating monster!

"Heeeeey~" Hijiri turned to face Arumigi whose head was down as he leaned against a wall despite their being at least three seats in the room. Arumigi didn't say anything or indicate that he was listening to the teen. "You're sleeping?" The dark hair girl stood up tilting her head to the side. She was wearing different clothing from before; the Academy's official uniform. She was wearing a white shirt tucked into a high waisted black skirt along with black socks and orange loafers. Her orange ribbon that was tied around her collar was uneven and barely staying on. Instead of the normal pale orange blazer that Arumigi had on she just had a black oversized sweater that didn't fit.

"Okay," Tokiru suddenly barged into the dimly lit room with some cookies on a plate. She dropped them on the wooden long table, Hijiri hurried to sit wanting to eat some. She was like a puppy without a leash to get her out of trouble. Her gaze was glued to the cookies on the plate. Tokiru noticed but didn't say anything. She was annoyed that Arumigi was just leaning against the wall like he owned the place. "Arumigi! Sit your ass down!"

Hijiri notices Arumigi's bandages all over his face, causing her mood to change from curious to feeling guilty. Tokiru noticed and was about to say something until Arumigi interjected like he would always.

"Jeez you a kid!?" He pushed the chair that was next to Hijiri, sitting sloppily on it. "You shouldn't feel guilty about the fucking bandages! Feel guilty about the fact you totally embarrassed me in front of Sir!" Arumigi scratched his white hair just thinking about how Hijiri jumped onto Sir. Pumpkin like he wasn't one of the 4 Seasonal Gods. "I'm surprised Sir didn't rip a new asshole into Toki-"

"Ahem!!" Tokiru coughed loudly interrupting the pretty inappropriate conversation Arumigi was having. She would punch him later for his disgusting language - especially towards a girl like Hijiri. "You two were brought in here for a Percentage Evaluation." Tokiru explained but Hijiri was focused on the last part of Arumigi's sentence.

'Rip a new asshole…?' She immediately touched her butt afraid of what Sir. Pumpkin was capable of. 'Rip a new asshole!??' Sweat quickly poured down her face, it was enough to fill buckets. '. . .New asshole?????'

Arumigi began laughing loudly at Hijiri's panicked reactions. She was so lost in thought that she barely noticed that Tokiru had pushed the plate of cookies in front of her.

"Arumigi you're gonna die after this!" Tokiru had a dark aura surrounding her, she really would let the white hair teen have it after he was done with this Percentage Evaluation. "Sir. Pumpkin really wants you in this Academy, Miss. Sesui. I'm Tokiru Yoruzo"

Hijiri's attention was then grabbed. "Hijiri is fine but how do you know my last name? That scary nurse knew it too."

"You told Arumigi, remember? Your fight with Jack The Ripper when you two thought you were going to die." Tokiru explains earning a 'Tch' from Arumigi. He pouted like a kid looking away from the both of them.

"I knew I wasn't gonna die." He lied, placing his feet on the table not caring if it was rude. Before Tokiru could reach over to strangle him, Hijiri was already on him for his behavior.

"Stop that please," She tapped his leg signaling to remove his feet off the table. Arumigi glared at the girl with his dark red eyes trying to scare her off. He showed off his sharp shark-like canines as well but Hijiri didn't budge. She pushed a strand of her dark green hair behind her ear trying to pull his foot off. "Cmon Aru stop giving me a hard time." Hijiri didn't realize she had referred to Arumigi as 'Aru' at that moment. She wasn't the type to use honorifics for anyone, especially since she only ever had contact with people she's always considered her family.

Arumigi for a split second thought back to his dead mom; he remembered her covered body and his bloodied cover clothing. In response he kicked Hijiri's hand into the wooden table. He didn't mean to hurt her but the memory of his helplessness just made him move and scream without fully realizing what he was doing. Arumigi raised his hand, angered at himself more so than he was at Hijiri. He wasn't going to hit her but it didn't look good in front of Tokiru or Hijiri.

"Don't fucking call me that!!"

Hijiri flinched when her hand was shoved into the table, not understanding what she did. It began to bleed from the impact. Tokiru finally had enough of Arumigi's crap; she swiftly moved in front of Hijiri protecting her. Tokiru's hand glowed white as she slapped Arumigi - there was a delayed reaction but then Arumigi's whole body was sent flying across the room.

"Hmph," Tokiru pushed up her circular glasses. The dim light covered her expression so it was hard to know what the young woman was thinking at that moment. "Control yourself, Arumigi. It's disgusting how you would hurt your partner, unofficial or not." Her voice was dark and serious just thinking about the whole scene.

"He didn't mean to!" Hijiri cried as she stood up suddenly. Tokiru turned towards the girl, not understanding. "I-I'm sorry! He- he didn't mean to hurt my hand, I can tell! He wasn't going to hit me. . . His vibrations became so scary. . ." Tears pricked Hijiri's brown eyes

"Sariyoku Vibrations." Tokiru sighed looking down at Arumigi who laid still. The woman must have slapped him harder than she intended, but she didn't feel bad. "Let me see your wound--"

Instantaneously, the wound on Hijiri's soft hand stopped bleeding. There was no sign of a cut at all - it was like she was never hurt!

"I heal fast~" The teenaged girl smiled, showing off her healed hand. Tokiru was amazed but should have known. Afterall, Hijiri wasn't covered in bandages like Arumigi and she had more injuries than him. Of course someone as carefree as Hijiri would have a Regenerative Sariyoku.

"Well that concludes the evaluation of your Sariyoku...." Tokiru sighed, pushing up her glasses even further up the bridge of her nose. "Regenerative Sariyoku's are rare but easy to detect. Now to evaluate your Percentage…." The brown haired woman sat back at the table confusing Hijiri.

"Eh?" Was all she could say.

"Sorry," Tokiru apologized looking sincere. "Sir. Pumpkin wanted me to do this. . . normally these Evaluations would have you two try and fight a teacher but that dimwit Arumigi is so used to these, all the faculty members pick their brains out thinking how else we should do this thing. You definitely are a candidate for his partner even if you lack any experience with fighting. You can sense Arumigi's distressed Vibrations in his Sariyoku… although he doesn't do a good job at being your Asagao. I don't like the fact Sir. Pumpkin is trying to pair you with someone like him, but you were the first Special to ever get him in his Asagao form. Although he didn't fully transform and was just the glowing figure." Tokiru rambled looking at the passed out Arumigi.

"So you're saying I was being tested??" Hijiri's head was spinning with all those different terms Tokiru was throwing around. "W-wait! I never officially said I'd become a student here!"

Tokiru nodded her head in deep thought. That was when the door opened; standing in the doorway was Sir. Pumpkin. Reflexively, Hijiri touched her butt afraid that what Arumigi was talking about earlier was going to come true..

"We're aware that you never agreed but you do have a price to pay." Sir. Pumpkin stepped on Arumigi's head as he made his way to the table. He jumped up so that he could at least be within Hijiri's eye level. You could tell he was being dead serious even with that stupid happy face carved into his pumpkin head. "You hugged a God - one of the 4 Seasonal Gods no less." Sir. Pumpkins funny high pitched voice became replaced with a deep and dark one. "That is not only a sin but a crime. If I was in a more public place, you surely would have died."

"It's your fault you know." Arumigi interrupted joining the conversation. He sat back down next to Hijiri but didn't look at her. He was too embarrassed too, because of his actions towards her. The white hair teen was too stubborn to say sorry - especially when Tokiru was eyeing him down like she was.

Sir. Pumpkin nodded in agreement which was a rare but not impossible sight to see.

"You're right, Pom~! I should have had my guard up and then this conversation would not take place. But right now, Hijiri Sesui committed a crime that cannot be paid off with any amount of Sol Coins in her possession. "She has very few options."

'You damn Pumpkin head.' Arumigi clenched his teeth at Sir. Pumpkins last sentence. He knew that Sir. Pumpkin had a history of not always telling the truth to others to save his own skin. He looked over at Hijiri who was gripping her skirt tightly as her head was down. She was going to be taken away from her family and she couldn't do a thing about it. Sir. Pumpkin was a God; if he wished for water to be called milk, you'd have to do as he said.

"You can't just--"

"Shimizu!" Tokiru slammed her hand on the table which made some of the cookies fall off the plate. "You're already in trouble for your actions! Don't let your mouth be another reason!"

"It's ok. I don't want to start any trouble. . ."

That was all Sir. Pumpkin needed to hear. If Arumigi wasn't already in trouble he'd grab onto Hijiri's shoulders and start shaking her. She basically made a deal with the devil.

"Ok then~! Pom~! Come with me so we can set you up, Pom~! Of course we gotta tell your family and stuff~!"
