"Nell!" He pushes open the door and finds her collapsed on the floor. Eli rushes to her side and takes her in his arms. Her clothes are wet with sweat. The stench of death is disappearing in the air as her heartbeats accelerate. Why does she smell of death? He pushes the hair strands away from her face and calls her name again, "Nell."
Her eyelids flutter. She parts her lips and inhales slowly. "Ugh! Stop screaming."
He watches her sit up and shake her head, knitting her brows as if she is in pain. She inhales and exhales again and again. He doesn't ask her anything more. Eli realizes that he is shaking in fear. He needs to calm down. Her temperature is reaching normalcy.
"It was a dizzy spell." Her voice is weak. She squeezes his hand and nods her head. "It happened because I was thinking too hard."
