"Ian Ternic, he's the principal isn't he?"
Osric asked as we were walking back to the new house.
"Yep. I've kept thinking, maybe I should of gone with her, maybe I should of just ended things today."
I said as I looked to the concrete path we were walking on. Midday and the sun was behind grey clouds, how depressing.
"Regrets are part of life, people who say they live a life without regrets are fools. But even if they are fools they are fools with a vision, a goal. Why don't you try being a fool for a bit?"
Osric said. It was surprisingly insightful as most of his advice is, I wonder if he's a head of a name? It would make sense if he was.
"Hey, what family name do you lead?"
He looked at me with impressed eyes.
"You figured it out huh? I am head of Regalia."
He said. I looked up at him, he was walking in the same direction but with poise and purpose, he was facing forwards and he was stepping in time. He really did look like his last name now that I think about it.
"Fancy, are you royalty or something?"
I said just to give him a little nudge.
"Or something. "
He said. Right, I've never asked much about his life at home.
We arrived at the new house once more, this time with the family butlers standing up front. I went to go get my luggage from them.
"This is the last I'll be seeing of you for a long time."
I said to them.
"Farewell,"
I said with a smile.
"Oh young master!"
I heard some of the older maids say as they came forward and gave me a hug.
"What a fine young man you have grown into."
"We wish you the best."
Eventually the whole cohort was hugging me. I didn't know what to do but copy my last times movement and hug them back. There were tears and sobs and some were just full on crying. The closest thing I've ever had to family.
I waved goodbye and went back to Osric.
"Not shedding a single tear at loss of family, what a heartless kid."
Osric smiled. Yep I was succeeding, he's definitely warming up to me.
I got my keys out and went to the door of the two story house. I jumped into the sofa in the living room and took up the whole space. Osric came over and then sat at one end of the sofa.
"Aren't you going to unpack?"
"In a minute. "
I whined as I shuffled up the sofa with my eyes closed as I wanted room for my legs. My head landed on a pillow. And I just laid there for some time. I think the back of the sofa was moving but I wasn't sure so I opened my eyes to see. I was lying on his lap agin. I froze.
"Didn't you want to get some sleep? "
I nodded and I went to sleep again.
...
I woke up on a queen sized bed and I looked to see the balcony. The door to the balcony was closed but outside I could see the sunset view and Osric with his cloths flying around in the wind.
I went outside, rubbing my eyes and opened the door.
"Go back inside it's cold,"
He showed concern? That's a second time now.
"I want to try something. "
I nodded for him to keep going.
"See the link between up in your mind. Now do you see me?"
I was staring off into space as I was concentrating on the images in my head.
"Your a locked door."
"Good, now try find the key to the door and open it. I might be able to regain my demon form. "
I tried to find it and eventually did after some time, it was back at my side of the link. I inserted the key into the lock and turned it. An ominous dark aura was coming from the door but I ignored it and continued to unlock the door. The moment I turned the key the door burst open. A blinding light that felt overwhelming came out, this was a request from my contracted demon, I had to do this to earn his trust and respect. I stood my group as I saw the creature that came from the door.
It was a Osric but not Osric, his ghostly pale skin and his only black hair his muscles big and lean, not bulky. He had red swirls ornamenting his body. The normal white of a human's eyes were red on him and he had cat like eyes. One his eyes were red and the other gold.
His fangs were prominent every time he opened his mouth. He had wings as well, big leathery wings of black and blue that had a wingspan of at least 2 metres. A tail was also there, a leathery tail just like his wings, blue and black and they when to an end of blue flames. Hellfire.
There was a collar around his neck that connected to a floating chain. He had horns that were sharp and curved up. His aura was dangerous and his cloths changed. Now he was in a black renaissance suit with a cape around him.
As he stepped out of the door my subconscious gave in and my conscious took over, taking me back to reality. In from of me was what I saw in my mind. A demon with a golden eye and wings that stretched for miles with a tail of hellfire, dressed in a renaissance suit like a gentlemen but looking as if above everything in sight. It was Osric but different.
"This isn't too bad, you pulled out most of my demon form kid,"
Osric said as he looked at him self.
"Head of Regalia, the demon with a golden eye,"
He flashed his fangs at me with a smirk.
"Yep,"
Looks like I've finally gotten a demon in front of me.
