"Who is Atticus?"
When I said that name I saw Althgar visibly flinch at it. It was the first big reaction I got out of him.
"Did you know Atticus personally?"
I asked, curious about his peculiar reaction. "No, his grandparents were close friends of mine"
I nodded at his answer, that made sense, right?
"You are right, Atticus is your father, and he is also dead,"
The tears were dried up by now but their paths were still there, I could feel them, an imprint on my cheeks down to my chin. I still didn't look up nor did I get up.
"I know,"
He paused. He didn't seem to know what to say.
"How did you get this information?"
I though about it, my head tilted the slightest bit to the right as I thought. It was that fading figure, but what could of done that?
"I think it was a spirit who showed me,"
I said back, it just made sense, what else had a fleeting appearance and I doubt that souls have that power to enter another's mind.
"What did the spirit look like?"
The fading bits, I only got the colour, it was blue, a deep ocean blue.
"The spirit faded before I could see a figure but it was blue in colour. "
"Hm"
That was all he said in reply to that. It was also the end of that conversation. It was just a silence after that but we were both thinking.
"You know, your father was a good man, one of the few with a purely good heart and a mind that though rationally but still with the factors of the greater good taken in. It was a dream that I had a friend as good as him, but as we all know. This is was also lead in to his despise but, listen Michael, he only regrets one thing. Not his death, not your birth, not even the fact that he risked his own life for your mother, no, he regrets not seeing you grow up into a great man. Keep that in mind."
After that little speech I was staring at the ground with wide eyes, my father doesn't hate me for the pain that I caused? I wondered what was going through his mind at that time when he was about to die. He had a great big smile on his face. Why?
I wiped the paths that were left behind by the tears as I got up.
"Thank you,"
I told Althgar as I walked to the throne room doors. I pulled them open just enough so that I could slip through and then close the door. It clicked and I went away, Althgar didn't say a word.
"What happened in there,"
A male voice from behind me asked, he must of followed me out, then again what did I expect? He did say he was going to assign himself the duty of being my personal guard. Does this mean the others have an assigned personal guard as well?
"Nothing much, I did get the confirmation I needed."
I told Yuki, he was too serious about the petty matters.
"I am happy for you,"
He didn't sound very happy, he bowed and left without saying another word. I take that back, I saw the smile on his lips and I knew for a fact that they were genuine. There is someone who is happy for me. That's unusual. My own smile touched my lips as I walked away, back to the room.
Only Dominic was still asleep when I got back to the room, Eleanor was on her bed looking anxious about something and the tigers were probably in the bathroom. Where Anastasia?
"What did you do to my little Elly"
A voice that was seething with anger practically out to kill me sounded from behind. An audible gulp and I slowly turned around praying to god that I won't be killed.
"I didnt do anything,"
I said to her with my hands up and a cautious voice trying to take little steps back.
"Then why did she come back alone and scared out of her wits! Answer me that."
Did I really do that to her?
"I may have shouted a bit,"
She seemed to get more infuriated after that, I closed my eyes as her voice got even more quieter.
"You dare to shout at my little Elly,"
She glared was piercing, it basically hit my parent's glares completely out of the ball park.
"No, no, no I didn't shout at her, I would dare!"
I said back hastily hoping to get out of this conversation unscathed. But sadly, I and everyone else in the room knew it was impossible, they also didn't dare interfere. Who would when a lioness is at this stage of their anger?
"Then WHO did you shout at?"
She said to me, interrogating to get to the point of Eleanor's fear. At the same time I felt like even if it was proven it wasn't my fault she'd still kill me. God, what am I suppose to do?
"I shouted at Mr Daemon,"
She looked confused but nevertheless someone who you do not want to mess with.
"Then why did my Elly come back alone, I trusted you with her,"
She narrowed her eyes as she scrutinised next.
"Because Mr Daemon asked her to leave,"
Her eyes just glared at me even harder. The tigers came out and simultaneously asked.
"What's going on here?"
Dominic groaned as he got up from his sleeping position.
"Can't you see its a scolding?"
He said to the tigers as if it were the obvious. He then yawn and went to the bathroom, hello, can you not tell that I'm about to die?! It was as if he knew what I was thinking that he turned around and snickered to himself. That bastard, some friend you are.
"Mr daemon asked her to leave the room,"
I said to Anastasia.
"And you didn't worry for her lonely self?"
She said, pinning me with question after question it was getting hard to find an escape route. I then turned to see Eleanor on her side and thought up an idea.
"I'll apologise to her ok?"
I said to Anastasia as a bargain, hoping to calm down this lioness who is out for blood. She glared but as I snuck past her to Eleanor she didn't try and stop me.
"You better make it genuine, if you don't, well your going to wish you never came back."
She said threateningly.
I face Eleanor's back and to be honest, even if Anastasia didn't interrogate me into this, I would of done it anyway. I didn't know that I made her fear, so the apology is going to be genuine, I know it.
"Hey, Eleanor? I'm sorry, about today. I was a selfish idiot while in the throne room and didn't even take into consideration of your feelings. I should of come with you or made you stay, it was my fault and I never wanted you to feel this way. I just wanted to let you know that I am truly sorry,"
I turned to Anastasia, who's eyes were now softer after the apology.
Suddenly a breathy yawn overtook the silence and I turned my head to face Eleanor. She was moving in the blanket that covered her, could it be that, this whole time! No, Anastasia said she was scared out of her wits when she came both.
"What did you say, I didn't quite hear,"
A sweet little voice asked. No, she, Eleanor. She was asleep this whole time!
