Chapter 68 - MYSTERIOUS SAVIOUR: PART VIII

As she witnessed the soldiers she had helped all heading back to the camp direction, she was relieved that they were now working together to help each other. As she tried to catch her breath, she was furious as she had still not found the person she was looking for and she was running out of time as well.

'Damn it, where are you?' She cursed within as she felt exhausted and faint at that moment.

...

Back in the Empire's camp.

The entire camp was in commotion as they witnessed the soldiers who were soon to be dead running towards the camp.

Some of them turned pale as if they were witnessing people whom they thought were long dead coming back from death.

"What's going on?"

"They're back!"

"Everyone, hurry up to help them!"

The Commander and his son quickly went to check all the commotion near the gate.

"Tell me, what's going on?"

"Ah, Commander." One of the soldiers greeted him and replied, "Look-" He pointed his finger at the soldiers who were running towards the camp.

'What is heavens is going on? Most of those soldiers were already on the brink of death. How-how, are they able to come back from the dead when they were all… wait, some of them are only half healed.'

Seeing his father was still in a daze, he quickly took command as he ordered the soldiers and shouted. "Quickly now, everyone go and help them!"

As the old man returned to his senses, the corner of his eye noticed a familiar figure amongst his men.

"You-"

The Commander grabbed his son's attention as he pointed at the person next to his men. It surprised the young lieutenant as he called for him.

"Master!"

Lirius ignored them since he was not in the best of mood. Seeing them appear right in front of him made things even more complicated, for they were the reason as to why the girl has ran off to war, whilst risking her life. He did not greet them as he only did what the girl ask of him to do. He quickly assisted the wounded soldiers as he healed them and handed potions to those who are able to drink them.

"Father, what is going?" He asked as he couldn't comprehend the situation at all. The person is still a mystery to them and yet here he is helping their people.

"Ignis, the soldiers are all coming back..." Commander Rosenburg replied, but was in disbelief of everything. For he couldn't put his finger in how such a miracle would happen.

"How is this possible, we were outnumbered." He replied as he recalled they couldn't even hold a minute in that battle for their barbarians number suddenly tripled in numbers.

Commander Rosenburg looked at his son curious about one thing, "The man's friend, how powerful was he?"

Ignis, then recalled what happened earlier, he recalled how amazing the man's friend was using the bow at the same time how deadly the wolf was.

"Father, he was indeed powerful. He was able to kill the barbarians in just one hit using his bow. At the same time, he even has a Twilight Wolf which was well trained despite it still being a pup."

'Impossible, which family could the young man be from to be this powerful. To think he can even tame a Twilight Wolf, who are they? Did the Empire send them to help us?

The Commander called one of the soldiers over.

"Yes, Commander."

"Inform all the Healer and Alchemist to assist this man. Provide him all the resources he needs, no one is to question him and must follow his order." He declares for he has no intention in finding out who the man could be and what their true motives are. Since they are helping them, it's best to trust them for now and provide all the necessary resources they need.

The soldier quickly did as he was told.

He may be a distance away from them, but he clearly heard what the commander said. It pleased him since the old man knew what the right decision was without him telling him what to do.

Seeing the amount of soldiers all coming back, it didn't please Lirius at all. For there could only mean one thing: the girl was pushing herself again, which means she used too much of her mana and he fears that she'll use up all the potion he has prepared.

The soldiers rejoice to see their brothers and sisters all coming from the death and have safely returned. They greeted, comforted each other as some told the story of the person who helped them.

However, one person was not pleased about the situation. He was in rage as he felt something terrible had indeed happened to the girl.

...

Meanwhile, back in no man's land.

A certain person has gained consciousness. As he saw the soldiers all running towards him, it shocked him of the situation.

"My Lord."

"What's going on?"

It surprised him when he was able to pull himself back up at the same time to see his arms weren't crippled anymore.

"How?" He thought hard as to how such a miracle taken place, but his memory was hazy and he was having a hard time recalling the recent events that happened.

"My Lord, we need to head back."

"Tell me, how did we..."

"We don't know, but a stranger and a Twilight wolf came to rescue us."

'Ah-It wasn't a dream, I did see the wolf earlier than. At the same time, wait... That voice... It was a woman's voice. Impossible…'

"All of you head back, I need to look for the captain."

"But my Lord."

The young man got up and patted the man on the shoulder. "Don't worry about me and head back home."

As he started walking towards the direction where most of the soldiers were coming from, he took the same path as them, hoping to cross paths with the person who rescued them.

On his way to look for the person, he encountered some barbarians who were still alive and fighting for their life with the remaining soldiers who were trying to return home.

"Get back all of you."

"Die you b*stards."

'Those idiots! Half of their men have been slaughtered by just a wolf, yet they continued to fight against us.'

He ran towards them as he tried to help the soldier, he looked at the soldiers and yelled. "Get out of here, I'll handle this."

The soldier did not hesitate and did what he was told as he ran as fast as he could.

"Worthless tra..."

But before the barbarian could even finish what he wished to say, the young man slices his head from his body as the splash of blood exploded out of his neck.

"You b*stard!"

The young man's icy glare made the barbarians tremble in fear. His legs were all shaking as if he was one the brink of wetting himself. He has faced so much battle, but the young man was someone to be afraid of.

'Thanks to that potion that the person left for me, my mana has indeed been restored. At the same time, it has an amazing effect in healing my wounds as well.' He smirked eager to cross path with the person soon for he has taken quite an interest towards the person who rescued him.

"I really don't have time for you all."

The barbarians were furious seeing how arrogant the young man was towards them.

"You piece of sh*t, come here and let me give you an easy death."

"Why don't you just kneel down and beg for your life."

The young man ignored their feelings, disinterested at the two barbarians in front of him. As he wonder which direction he should take next, the corner of his eyes took sight of a figure he was looking for briefly. 'Wasn't that…'

What he saw was the young twilight wolf running in a certain direction. Since it's speed was far too fast for him to take a clear glimpse, he was unable to catch which direction he was heading at. At the same time, he was unable to see if the master of the creature was with him or not.

'What going on? Why is the wolf running at such a pace, did something happen to its master? It can't be...'

The young man worried as he ignored the two barbarians as he headed towards the direction where the wolf came from. Before the barbarians could even make a step further, their whole body was cut into half by a dark smoky mist.

"I told you, I don't have time for you..."

The barbarians died, as they took a last glimpse of the young man who killed them without even doing anything. They have realize they have face the devil which is why they have died in a blink.
