Chereads / HER WORLD REVOLVES AROUND HIM / Chapter 95 - The Revelation(8)

Chapter 95 - The Revelation(8)

"…" Lily was unable to reply. She knew that it was her biggest mistake. She never thought that Lisa would pose any threat to her. She miscalculated.

Lily was at a loss of words now. Lila, on the other hand, twisted and turned the dagger as she looked at Sophie through the glass partition. She signalled at her, "Now what?"

"Ahem.", Sophie cleared her throat, and then, with lazy, graceful steps inched closer to Lily.

"So?" Sophie smiled mysteriously.

Lily could feel her heart constrict with fear. She thought to herself, 'How can she produce such pressure? I could feel that kind of pressure only from THEM.'

Her thoughts were cut off with another cough from Sophie. Lily looked into her eyes and felt that those intoxicating eyes could burn into one's soul. Those pair of eyes held such coldness, yet such mysteriousness. She felt that she couldn't lie to Sophie at all. Lily kept her head bowed. It was as if a teacher caught a student eating candy in her class.

"Heh." A snort escaped Sophie's lips before she smirked and said, "Do you want to reveal it, or…" She trailed off, not completing her sentence. A smirk hung on her face as usual.

"..." Lily was speechless. 'Is she related to THEM? No one else can threaten with such chill.'

"Are you one of THEM?" Lily asked Sophie directly.

"What do you think?" Sophie gave yet another mysterious smile.

Lily concluded that it was one of THEM and contemplated for a while before blurting out, "I didn't mean to betray, but I was forced to."

"Forced to?" Sophie raised an eyebrow and an evil smile laced her perfect lips. It was so enchanting, that Lily looked at her for a long time, before she heard a cough.

Lily was unlike her usual self. She didn't know why she felt a connection with the person standing in front of her. She usually portrayed herself to be a strong person, but she wasn't. She wasn't this confident. She didn't command such attention as the lady in front of her did.

Lily never felt such a failure in her life. Surprisingly, she wasn't jealous. Lily was somewhat bewildered at her own thought.

She was her enemy for God's sake, but why did she not feel any negative emotions for Sophie. Why?

Sophie's smile made her nervous. She gulped the saliva pooling in her mouth, before looking at Lila's face, which had confusion written all over it.

"Ahem…" She was going to say something when she heard a chime. Sophie took her cell phone out and stared at it before whispering something to Lila.

"Okay, go on." Lila told Sophie and then she turned her attention to Lily.

"You are lucky!" She spat out before following Sophie's footsteps. Lily was totally confused. 'What did she mean?'

Lily sat there alone all confused as she thought back to her life. She lacked the warmth of a family. Schemes, pretensions and lies were what she grew up with. She never chose that kind of life for herself. But she was forced into it. Now that she thought about it, she questioned herself what her fault was.

Was it only being born into such a family? Or was it because her father was involved in something dark and illegal? What was her fault? Tears started pooling in her eyes as she thought about her life.

She was so busy making enemies and finding fault with people that she never paid attention to her own life. Ultimately, was it worth it? Was it worth the sacrifices? Was it worth the hate she received? She always blamed everyone for her life. But it was her own choices that made her like this.

It was all her choices. Only choices led her down such a path. She always blamed Lila, but she never thought that one day she would be thinking of these when she is held captive.

Now she understood that death is indeed easier than making choices. Also, taking responsibility for one's own choice required lots of bravery. She never took responsibility for her choices or her actions. She always thought that what she did was right. But standing at the death's door, waiting for someone else to decide her fate, made her realise that it wasn't worth it.

She sighed. She waited with bated breath for a long time but no one came. She fell into a deep slumber as she dreamt of many things, including her childhood.
