After Sophie successfully diverted the topic, she and her friends got ready to hit the party at night.
"Can you tell us Soph, why have you suddenly decided to go to the party instead of a normal dinner at Westin?", Natalie asked her.
"You will know once you go there. Won't you?", a small smile escaped her lips.
"What will we know? What are you hiding from us?", Giselle raised her eyebrows in mock anger and asked.
"Nothing.", she gave an all-knowing smile.
"Stop showing that goofy smile and let's make a move. Are you perhaps planning to stay here and sleep again?"
"Nope. Not at all."
"Okay then, let's go."
The collection of Sophie's cars was parked in front of their mansion. Luckily it was night. Otherwise, anyone would be star struck just by seeing such big shots gathered together. It did not take long for them to board the cars. None of the girls were driving today. They just want to laze around.
C and Ruby boarded a car which C was going to drive. Elliot and Natalie boarded another. Benedict and Giselle boarded yet another one. Sophie had to squeeze in with Edward and William as per their request. She was planning to William was driving that jeep, while both of them were sitting at the back.
William suddenly asked, "Soph, can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Are you angry?"
"Why are you asking this question?"
"You are not speaking freely with me as you did before. Sophie, look, I'm really sorry, sis. I just wanted to find more about my girlfriend's death...."
"You could have asked me, Will. You know that very well. I have nothing more to say."
"Please listen to me, Soph."
"There is nothing to listen anymore."
"Please, little sis."
"William Brown, don't tell me all these things when you, yourself know that this is not the truth. When you are ready to tell me the truth, then we will talk again."
William knew better than provoking her now. When she calls using someone's full name, that means, she is extremely angry and there is no room for negotiation. So, he wisely kept his mouth shut and focused on driving instead. Sophie gave him a side-eye but said nothing more and kept mum.
Edward then changed the topic and asked her about the situation of her businesses. Both of them started discussing about the topic and there was no feeling of discomfort, which was previously created by their discussions.
William said nothing but silently watched from the sidelines. His little sister was angry with him, but he could do nothing. Edward looked at him and silently indicated with his eyes that all will be well. But how could he not know his little sis? She was angry and that too, for a genuine reason. Unless he told her the truth, nothing was going to be okay. Who was he trying to fool?
He knew Sophie very well. He was still thinking whether to tell her the truth. He wasn't sure how she will take that news of why he did that. He had his own reasons of doing that. Although she said she was okay, she wasn't. She gets upset with the smallest of things. He knew that he needed to speak to her alone freely.
They drove for a long time and reached their private island which they owned. They went straight to their villa. Ruby never came to this place. She was mesmerized.
"This is so damn cool. It is even better than The Atmosphere."
"This villa is personally designed by Sophie."
"You are an Architect?"
"No, I was a junior Architect. Back then, I studied Architecture first before choosing Technology."
"Wow."
"Very few people know about it. This is my one and only project."
"You are so cool. You are my role model."
Sophie smiled and said, "Make yourself at home." Ruby nodded.
