Arash stumbled through the dense jungle of Oram that he, only moments ago, called home. The brambles and branches that, at one point in time, aided him as a hunter by concealing his presence, now revealed every step he took as the hunted.
After what felt like an eternity of running he came to the precipice of a steep cliff. Its seemingly endless drop interrupted only by the jagged rocks that pierced out of its face.
Arash gulped, he knew he had only 2 options. He could surrender and lose his life at the hands of the men and women he thought to be his family, or he could leave his fate to be decided by the cruel gods that watched from above and below.
His heart dropped like a stone into his stomach. He could hear the furious shouts of his former family as they stormed through the dense jungle-like rampaging beasts.
Reflecting on his options, Arash turned to see the light of the torches getting even closer through the branches.
Then, as he stared into the jungle, his mind was clear. There was no more hesitation, no more fear, no more doubt.
"Gods... Protect me," he whispered, hoping and praying the wind would carry it swiftly to the land of the gods. The land of Eternals.
He swiftly turned and leapt into the terrifying maw of the earth, allowing his gods to guide his fall.
--------
The gods above watched in wonderment. Observing the cascading set of events the Goddess of evil set. In motion.
The trickster god, in particular, found this entire situation quite amusing.
A smirk grew on his face like a devious weed in a beautiful garden. He approached his sister, who was staring at her creation neither phased nor bemused by her brother's directness.
"Hello, dear sister." He greeted in his most loving voice, "What a delicious seed of chaos you've sewn, how would you like to partake in a little game?"
She turned toward him in a swift, graceful movement, "brother do not dare mistake my immaculate plans for your disgusting mischief." She frowned and stared with her dark eyes, "But I will forgive your insolence if your game interests me. Speak."
The trickster God was elated at this news, "I wager that with that man as my champion, I could beat your evil empire."
His sister thought for a moment, what is he up to? She thought. She decided that it could do no harm in the end and reluctantly agreed as her white hair shimmered in the Ray's of the sun her mother had created.
Thus, the wager between the God of trickery and the goddess of chaos began, And the world was none-the-wiser.
